  1. More picture spam! Close-up shots of the helmet. As the last picture states, those eyes would best translate to bubble lenses. The frown is confirmed ANH style gray frown, the tube stripes and tears are decals (super common on video games, the texture artist just textured on the stripes and tears instead of actually modeling them onto the helmet), the ears have no black stripes on the bumps, and the eyes are indeed perfectly symmetrical. I'm betting half the helmet got modeled and then duplicated and reversed to make the full helmet. Another common technique.
  2. When I can get into the game again, I’ll take several up close shots of the helmet so I can figure it out. The whole thing seems to be symmetrical like the R1 helmets, but the tube stripes appear to be “decals”. I might end up having to modify a BS helmet.
  3. Thanks! I’ll have a list up shortly of what I have and what I plan on buying and where I’ll be getting it from, so that we can all closely scrutinize it and make sure I’m making all the right decisions.
  4. Yes, I had an unfortunate mishap last year with a royal guard helmet, haha. I’ve gotten in plenty of practice since then using ABS scraps. last question I have, what style are the shoulder bells? Once I know that, I can start compiling my shopping list.
  5. Actually upon thinking about it, I bet I could use a heat gun to gently mold the eye to be symmetrical with the other eye if I got an ANH helmet...
  6. The eyes appear to be symmetrical. So what would the best course of action for a helmet be?
  7. Thanks. I messaged WTF and he said he does the ROTJ armor, so I’m waiting to hear back from him some more about pricing. I think I’ll snag a helmet from AM, his helmet fit me just fine back when I had his kit.
  8. Alright, sounds good. Do we have any makers of ROTJ armor besides the guy in the UK? Nothing against him, I just bet shipping would be very high. There’s a guy in my garrison who used Rubies armor and modified it to be accurate but he said it Was a ton of work.
  9. That could work actually. I’m putting together a shopping list right now, debating if it’d be better to buy ROTJ armor and modify it or buy ANH armor and modify it.
  10. I know, I've been playing and having fun! I'm looking around for armor makers now, seeing who I could find. I'll need to make some adjustments to any armor I get.
  11. Picture spam incoming! Sorry for the delay, I was stuck at a part of the game where there were no troopers, haha. So as Joseph pointed out: ROTJ armor (minus shoulder bells), inverted AB plate (all the buttons of which seem to be shades of gray), presence of a black pauldron (I haven't encountered any other variants, just black), drop box placement is different, and the helmet appears to be similar to an ANH Stunt helmet. Also, light weathering. That's definitely not the cleanest of troopers!
  12. Hey all, I originally posted this on Spec Ops as I figured it'd fall over there based on the trooper description and weaponry, but I got referred to here because of the white armor. I'm pretty sure here is the right area to post this for research... Anyways, while playing Fallen Order, the Heavy Assault Stormtrooper caught my eye. Taken from the description: "The Heavy Assault Troopers are specialized infantry serving the Galactic Empire on the front lines of war. They are primarily trained to defend combat zones as support squads to Stormtroopers patrols. They are highly proficient with the Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon, which fires off steady rapid, long-range bursts capable of inflicting heavy damage, and shielded by a low emitter energy ray. " If anybody else has seen someone building one of these and can link me a build thread to look at it, please share it with me. But, I figured I'd get your opinions. I'm interested in building one as I already have all the soft goods for a TK and have a commissioned Z-6 being finished any day now. The armor looks to be ROTJ style, while the helmet MIGHT(?) be ESB style. Thanks for looking, hope to hear your opinions on this.

  14. Hello camroc! You're looking good, but this is an ACD build. Why not join us on the ACD forums? http://forum.armoredcavalry.net/ I'm an approved AT-ST driver myself.
  15. No problem! Just a word of advice, they ARE a bit picky. You have to make sure you hammer the posts in exactly straight. Otherwise they won't snap in firmly.
  16. Apologies for the huge lapse in updates. I got busy working on it myself and forgot to update. All I can really say is that my armor's nearly done. I just need to do the shoulder bridges, attached the belt, and fix the helmet up. I also got approved as an AT-ST driver.
  17. Posting an update here, these snaps are great. They hold together very well and are quite solid. I recommend them.
  18. Welcome back, and great job on the exams!
  19. Update time! I have finished assembling all the limbs, and am now working on the fine details. So I'm going to work on the abdomen buttons, and I need to know... What do i trim off? I know the four side buttons need to have the sides trimmed off, but what about the plate buttons?
  20. I'm going to order these snaps and try them out. I'll give a review when I've finished.
  21. I was looking at Tandy's website and they want about 65$ for a 100 pack of Line 24 snaps. I kept looking around and discovered this site. They offer 100 packs of Line 24 snaps at 22$, among various other packs and types of snaps. Can anyone offer an opinion on this? -----------
  22. I worked on a thigh and assembled it. Fits like a dream.
  23. Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been busy. But I've also been working on my armor! Here's a picture of all the pieces I've assembled. (Though ignore the chest piece and abdomen, that's there for reference.) I still need to remove the return edge from the forearms. I keep forgetting.
