Actually that's not the correct flashlight, the screen used flashlight is the Element model M300A, not the M300B. It's all written in my Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference thread here;http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, That's the plan. This kit will be designed to install electronics inside for lights and sound. Oh yes, these will be so much lighter than a real steel Sterling with a vintage brass Honeywell telescope, and vintage Hengstler counter. Yet they will be metal and incredibly accurate to the real thing right down to the last dimension.
-
Everything will function as it does on a real Sterling aside from the ability to fire live rounds! The Mag Release will allow you to remove and re-insert the magazine which will be great for a battery compartment, The Trigger will function with an electronic momentary switch, The Selector Switch will function as a three position switch just like the real thing, The cocking handle will function as an additional switch complete with an accurate bolt and spring replica inside, The folding stock will be fully functional complete with a removable Rear End Cap just like the real thing. This blaster kit is sure to impress! It will definitely bring any Stormtrooper costume up a few notches and all your fellow troopers will be jealous of your E-11.

Well I guess it's no use, Apparently now that we've done all the leg work and research on this pack here on FISD it's being given away to MEPD. We know now that it's clearly a Stormtrooper pack, not a Sandtrooper pack. So I had high hopes like many others that standard TKs would finally have a BackPack as an optional accessory, but I guess not. Both this "Crystal Patrol Duty Pack" and the other "Sandtrooper Type 4 Fieldpack" from Rogue One are going to MEPD, I was told that FISD was getting this one but apparently now we're not. I'm not even sure why they call it MEPD anymore, most of the listed costumes are never seen anywhere in Mos Eisley. I think it's high time that detachment changed their name in my opinion.
-
I know it wasn't in the film but in addition to the Visual Guide the costume display at Star Wars Celebration was very clean too. Even though it's a Stormtrooper Pack and NOT a Sandtrooper pack, and even though we did all the legwork and research for it here on FISD, I'm not opposed to the pack being in another detachment. However If it's going to be MEPD getting all these new costumes then they desperately need a new name as the detachment is so much more than just Sandtroopers now! None of those characters aside from them are ever seen anywhere near Mos Eisley, or even Tatooine for that matter! The MEPD title does not adequately represent or encompass their detachment's broad range of costumes any longer.

What is referred to as the "Jedha Trooper" is only ever seen on an action figure package. Only one specific action figure to be exact. A toy figurine is hardly a better reference than a fully illustrated officially published visual guide in my opinion. What I mean is Lucasfilm calls it a "Visual Guide" for a reason, If anything I would follow that as reference over a toy. I understand the reasoning behind it, and yes some of the troopers wearing the pack & pauldron happen to be somewhat dusty being deployed on Jedha but on the other hand we also see plenty of clean white TKs on Jedha too, some of them wearing the pack & pauldron. This pack is also seen on Stormtroopers on other planets as well, it's first seen in the movie very early on at the "Kafrene Trading Outpost", but more heavily featured on Jedha. But even so these troopers appear to be clean just like all the other stormtroopers they're seen standing with.

What? That doesn't make any sense? I thought It had already been decided that the "Crystal Patrol Duty Pack" belongs to FISD while the "Sandtrooper Type 4 Fieldpack" belongs to MEPD. Each detachment was supposed to get a new pack for Rogue One I thought? Also according to the official Rogue One Visual Guide the Crystal Patrol Duty Pack is issued to "Standard Stormtroopers" as you can see in the paragraph below. And here is the "Sandtrooper Type 4 Fieldpack" that MEPD is getting. I'm not sure if this is the thread you're talking about?: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?/topic/14846-rogue-one-jehda-patrols-are-sandtroopers/&do=findComment&comment=195638

I can get photos of the Rogue One E-11 Blaster (both sides). I'm building using with all original found parts as seen in the FISD Blaster Reference that I wrote: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/ In addition to the E-11 Blaster I can supply photos of my Crystal Patrol Duty Backpack (front & back) built using all Original Found Parts as seen in the reference thread found here on this forum which I also helped contribute to. I will submit the requirement listings that I have been working on for the Rogue One E-11 Blaster and the Crystal Patrol Duty Backpack in the following posts. Please let me know where I need to send the photos of the blaster and the blackpack.

Those machined counter chassis look perfect! I can only imagine the cast ones will be super accurate, looking forward to that. This project is really coming together now. It will really be something to see this through from the beginning! This kit will be legendary in the community, and it will be unrivaled in terms of accuracy from any other commercially available E-11 blaster kit.
-
Yes, I have a set of these and they are exactly 2-2/16" long. You can also get this rail from Green Blob Outdoors; https://greenbloboutdoors.com/collections/rails/products/pair-of-black-3-slots-polymer-rail-sections-for-handguards
-
Ahh I see, I thought that side number detail was cast into the scope body. Those look like beautiful castings! I see you cast the M38 hollow unlike the M19.
-
Ooh Very Nice! I thought you recast the one with #4 on the side?
-
Agreed 100% Higher level requirements most definitely need to be based on a real or replica Airsoft S&T Sterling L2A1 AEG, not a real 9mm Sterling Mk4 L2A3 Sub Machine-Gun. Level 2 or 3 should most definitely require a real or replica Element M300A Mini Scout Light be mounted on the right side, not just any generic mini flashlight. As Chris said there is a much more detailed write up with all the information needed to make an accurate Rogue One E-11 right here on the forums, and it would be a real shame not to take advantage of this resource and all the work that's already been done there. Our Detachment Commander has put me in charge of the of the official FISD Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference thread if you check out the link below. PLEASE CLICK HERE: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/

At the very least the holster should have to be removed, and a flashlight added to the right side of the blaster. We can't make it that simple to have cross-approval on two costumes. This is the 501st after all, I think our standards are a little higher than that. Some of the troopers in this photo didn't remove their holsters and it's actually quite Noticeable, also some of us have flashlights while others don't. While the R1 TK was definitely inspired by the ANH Stunt TK there are obviously many differences and we need to draw the line somewhere, these two small things are rather noticeable differences IMHO. 1 Holster Removed, 2 Flashlight Added. We actually had 10 of us out there in armor that day at the beach, I did the photoshopping myself, here's another photo.

Yes they very different as Daetrin said, in fact he has personally put me in charge of the Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference if you go here; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/ The R1 BlasTech E-11 is different than the ANH variant in almost every aspect of the blaster big or small. Even the DLT-19 has the new Flashlight installed so to answer your question yes the other blasters are in fact different too. I have been writing an optional accessory template to contribute to this CRL for the E-11 blaster, as well as an optional accessory for the Crystal Patrol Duty packs.

HWT CRL Changes - Your input is requested
SlyFox740 replied to Daetrin's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
I agree the Thermal Detonator/O2 Canister should be an OPTIONAL Accessory. While some may not be able to fit it on their belt at all, other taller troopers can easily wear it under their packs as seen in the game. As far as the Ab Buttons, Tube Stripes, and Lens colors go; I would guess all these small detail inconsistencies were never really intended by Lucasfilm and probably largely due in part to the low quality 3D imaging and/or the graphics designers were just not utilizing their reference material accurately. Either way I think it's apparent that a HWT is basically just a standard stormtrooper assigned to a specific heavy weapon duty, issued a pack, and given a different "HWT" title. Otherwise it wouldn't even be part of FISD, it would be a whole other separate detachment like MEPD or SpecOps. I also have to comment on the Antenna; It looks cool and all, and if that's what you want then rock on. Although technically it isn't in the game or any other references so it's not accurate to the source material at the end of the day. With the latest Battlefront game and the new Battlefront II coming out soon I think it might be worth considering adding a whole new CRL for a 'Battlefront Stormtrooper' separate from the original Heavy Weapons Trooper. There are different types of troopers in the game and an endless configuration of weapons, pauldrons, and packs. It might be very well worth considering a new separate CRL for the Battlefront Stormtrooper to go alongside with ANH, ESB, ROTJ, ect. The new R1 Stromtrooper CRL will have it's own optional pack as well. I very much like this version of the HWT pack from the latest Battlefront game, I want to build a replica one day. There is also a Jetpack and a Magma Trooper pack in the game, although technically those are worn by Jump Troopers(Skytroopers) and Magma Troopers(Lavatroopers) not standard Stormtroopers. It may be easier to just add these 3 packs to those existing CRLs; Heavy Weapons Trooper, Sky Trooper, & Magma Trooper. But a new Battlefront Stromtrooper CRL would go along nicely with the Shocktrooper CRL. http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg542/William_Shawn_Cantey/Battlefront%20Shocktrooper%20Build/24823122054_5667818a6a_o_zpsf1e2hecu.jpg -
Wow man, good job! This looks MILES better than the stock "S&T E-11 Blaster". Like I stated in my blaster reference thread; that "E-11" is not accurate to any blaster used in any Star Wars films ever, it's wrong in so many ways. But you have converted it into a nice E-11, and Rogue One was definitely a good choice for it considering the base airsoft gun is the same one they used in the movie. Also the power cylinders are actually a close match to the SDS power cylinders used in Rogue One. Loving the flashlight add-on too! Maybe ask the guys over at "Praetorian Blasters" for an accurate Counter replica, they will be recasting a Hengstler that is accurate to the screen used counters in Rogue One.

And how would you attach it to the receiver tube? Does it really need to be separate? What purpose would it serve? Honestly the more parts that can be cast with the receiver tube the better. They were originally brazed on, but welding them together will not be an option for 99% of builders. Casting it as one piece will ensure everything is completely fused together like a real Sterling only without welding. Though some parts will need to be attached mechanically with screws. The result will be nearly identical to the real thing, only in aluminum of course. Plus aluminum is different than steel when it comes to structural strength so not everything can made using the exact same methods.

OT TK Chelsea Boots should be allowed for basic approval at the most, but with that the CRL should even recommend that "Flat Soles are Preferred". I'm currently working with ireachy and MrPaul on a CRL for the optional accessory Crystal Patrol Pack. I'm also working on the optional accessory CRL for the Rogue One E-11 Blaster, I've already posted the Rogue One E-11 Blaster Reference thread that is pinned in the new R1 BlasTech E-11 subforum that I started in the Weapons Locker section; http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41271-rogue-one-e-11-blaster-reference/

Wow, every time I come back to this thread I'm blown away! The Helmet & Armor look incredibly accurate Jim! Amazing Job, you've outdone yourself yet once again. And you did some heavy modifications to the BS before casting, so in a way that sculpt is somewhat yours. I really wouldn't worry too much about that, there's no need to reinvent the wheel when we all know the general shape and size of the BS is accurate. But you really made some much needed improvements that actually make it screen accurate! Namely the Chin Bulbs being extended inwards, More Accurate Brow and Vocoder, and last but not least removing the ugly Speaker Grill/Battery Compartment. Just look at the back of that beautiful helmet now! And those photos of the raw cast before painting REALLY show off your modifications to the sculpt! Definitely unique to YOUR kit and much more screen accurate than a BS.
