  1. Your rivets looked like they need painting. Knees
  2. I use blue painter's tape, just make sure the undercoat is good and dry. Otherwise it will make a texture in your paint while removing the tape.
  3. Always prime plastic before painting, at least give it a good scrub with some 80-100 grit sandpaper, or both (especially ABS). You can always use masking tape to protect the whit exterior, I also wrap the exterior in a plastic shopping bag when painting.
  4. Love that helmet man!

  5. I kinda rounded the corners on mine... apparently. :/
  6. As stated above: I used a textured black spray paint (by Rustoleum) on my E-11. And I would highly recommend it to anyone.
  7. Wow, those are great shots!
  8. Yeah, you really have to put it on pretty thick in order to get that super glossy surface. I know though it takes longer to dry that way, but it's worth the wait I think. But you should be able to fix it by sanding it smooth and either polish it up or re-coat it again with a glossy clear coat.
  9. Detonator pipes were 2 3/4"... The ones that were screen used anyway.
  10. I drilled a hole into the top of my sterling barrel, and use a nut and screw to hold the back end. The front just notches in the first hole there towards the front. ---------
  11. Aren't you going to paint everything white? I see you already started detailing the helmet.
  12. Mike has a great template, thinking of ordering a couple myself.
  13. No, it's not the hammered stuff. this stuff has more grit to it, and the hammered stuff has a glossier finish. I'll see if I can find the can I used and take a shot of it.
  14. I have to figure measurements and I'll get them quoted. I'll keep you posted.
  15. Looking good Trooper, nice clean build! And good choice of belt clips may I add?

  17. Yeah, painting is pretty rough this time of year. Luckily, we had a few warm days last week, and I was able to sneak in some spray-painting on my latest lid. I have done a sandtrooper lid before, but didn't try to match the "move along" lid really at all. Although, it does have a fairly high brow.
  18. Thanks Bro! I use Cinema 4D on the Mac.
  19. Wow! I would rather have this lid over a TM any day! Terrell did a great job!
  20. I'll take some more pics when I'm done detailing the paint chips. I sanded a few down a little too far, so the white came through. But I repainted them last night, now I just need to touch 'em up a bit, make them dirtier, etc. I did take some paint off the top, but not as much as the Dave M had. I have more pics here. I think it's Khaki, it has a hint of green to it. I think it looks pretty good. The trick is going over it again with some green/black paint washes, and a very light grit sandpaper.
  21. You are welcome, glad to help! That's exactly what I did.
  22. The front arm should fit the folding stuck pretty tight, so it shouldn't turn. A lot like the stand for the MR E-11 blaster.
