  1. It's fine dude. These helmets were "wonky" to begin with. It's not you, that's just how they were originally sculpted. Jess
  2. Have you looked at this page before? Has some great reference.
  3. Oops, no... I have a Sterling SMG. Must have read the header incorrectly. Sorry guys! :B
  4. 4130 steel 1.50 OD x 1.370 ID for correct fit.
  5. Very sorry for your loss. Just my two cents on the lid. I feel as though the eyes and teeth could be opened up a bit more, especially the eyes. For ESB they made all the eyes bigger than they were on the same helmets used in ANH. But for a 1st time lid builder, it's looking very clean. And the ears look great, I would leave them be. Jesse
  6. That was a test pull. You can see any flaws easier with black than the white perhaps?
  7. Are saying the screws should be closer to the control panel edge or further away? I have photos that show them even closer than I have them.
  8. That was for the ROTJ canister though. I'm going for the ANH design. Thank you though!
  9. Either way, I'm 1/8" off. I may have to custom order precut bars.
  10. From what I understand, the original screen used clips were 1 1/8" wide.
  11. Like many components of these costumes, the details vary. And in some shots it's just hard to tell, since it's a reflective material. ---------
  12. This would be a more accurately placed set of clips -----------
  13. The wider one's could be positioned better, yes ... I'm just wondering which aluminum bar width is more accurate. -----------
  14. The wider one's are 1 1/4" wide The narrow one's are 1" wide
  15. Hey guys, I found wider aluminum bars for my belt clips, that (I think) look more screen accurate. Opinions? ------- Some side by side comparison shots -------
  16. Well, I ordered mine... in kit form, matt finish. I might paint to look like a HDPE lid.
  17. What found objects did they use to make the button strip on the thermal detonator control panel? Preferably the original design (ANH style). And how did they get the end cap walls so thin? J
  18. Unless I'm reading it wrong... In this statement, SiMan said the 1st batch would be ABS. "Re: Original 1977 ANH Stormtrooper Armor and Helmet The first Run of helmets will be white ABS all casts so far have been taken from the inside of the helmet and suit its been a very delicate process so as not to harm the original in anyway and no arm sections or leg sections have been split to achieve this." Sounds like we can expect to see a full suit as well! J
  19. Oh man! I wonder if they will offer these for sale? I'm guessing they wouldn't be cheap.
  20. I hadn't heard about a second attempt at suing Andrew Ainsworth. Article here
  21. Check this guy's website, he has some pretty awesome pieces of 3D art.
