  2. I personally won't do facebook groups, most have so many posts per day that my actual friends posts get swamped and it takes ages to find them... This forum was started to be the one stop place to get your information, research and help for all stormtrooper related gear, taking it elsewhere is fragmenting the community and making it more difficult to find the information you are looking for (a bit like illusive droids) and for what reason? Certainly not to make things easier but more likely in fact so the people who start these groups can increase their own exposure on facebook and so they can feel good about themselves and "facebook important" (similar to facebook famous but generally without the "hi guys what's going on" moronic videos... Any branching away from what is seen (quite rightly so) as the definitive stormtrooper reference source is in my opinion a step backwards... I have a really bad feeling about this...
  3. Sandy's nor shock's factor into this as they're not accountable to the rigorous standards of death star troops [emoji13] This seems to be about my way of thinking (so far but I'm fickle) Thanks for your input fellas
  4. Is your bucket abs or pvc? Abs then commercial hobby paint thinner or mineral spirit with a cotton bud, If it's pvc the acetone is fine, BUT ONLY ON PVC! the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  5. My 2 cents on the holster is this, during my military service when on patrol, exercises or anything else when we had weapons we carried them, rifles, light machine guns or as was for me back then occasionally an L2A3 Sterling sub machine gun... no holsters, and the reason is, when you have a weapon in a holster it takes time to ready it, in that time you're dead, on the death star maybe a holster was permissible but in any situation where combat is even remotely a possibility then they would be carried ready for use so holsters would be redundant and in these cases not even present... Any serious fighting force would not have holsters... the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  6. I've seen a few posts around saying that the helmet looks like an efx one, maybe because they were endorsed by lucasarts and Disney now own that? Just a thought like... the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  7. Anyway... --------- the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  8. So, first of all you cannot say anybody is wrong as its only an opinion and everyone is not only entitled to an opinion but no opinion can ever be wrong even if others disagree with it...Secondly, by we you mean who you don't speak for everyone [emoji38] the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  9. So it's pretty much a mixed bag then, not sure how I'll go yet as I'm waiting on replacement armour from RS... Will say clean is my gut feeling though... the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  10. If this armour was the 1st it had been seen (done to this standard in anh) there wouldn't be a problem, it's nostalgia holding people back... This is how it should have looked in the beginning, clean, smooth, no visible fastenings, because if it were real the idealised is how it would be... Just a side note though, is the rectangular slot that replaces the round ab button actually a USB port for an mp3 player? And another, the cover strip on the top of the forearm isn't what it seems from what I can see, if you look at the front of the centre troopers left forearm under the 'cover strip there is no join below it, also if you look closely at the far right toppers right forearm underneath it looks to me like instead of butt joint it's actually overlapped... Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it looks to me... the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  11. BF is BS so I don't play it [emoji38] well I played it for 3 days and got thoroughly bored with it, problem is I bought the digital copy so can't even trade it in [emoji30] the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  12. As you all know too well white plastic marks very very easily, so the question is what do you do about it? Do you clean and polish all marks off before a troop? Or do you leave it on to make it look used or battle damaged? the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  13. If you get a modulator too (icomm or romFX) the hiss wouldn't be noticeable anyway...I got mine from China but advertised on eBay Australia and they were £14.37 but since the referendum they're now £16.22 lol... the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
  14. I got to see one of these when I was at RS Prop Masters last Saturday, Rob wanted to compare it to my Aker 1505 and my eBay £15 wireless mic, all identical, but this has the added static burst (toggle switch to turn on/off) and the tk chatter (small tactile latch switch for on/off) all built into the Aker... Works pretty well, the chatter is louder than your voice but as I doubt you'd be using both at the same time it shouldn't be an issue... The mic on it paired to my reciever but we couldn't try them both together close range as my mic wasn't charged... I guess out of all the voice units you can buy this is the simplest to use as its all in one, only criticism is it's non adjustable as far as I could tell... You may want to get a right angled 3.5mm Jack converter so you can velcro the receiver to the side of the Aker instead of it being a bit awkward sticking out the top, as far as I see I would mount it in the chest sideways with the buttons pointing out for ease of access and if the receiver was in the top that wouldn't be possible, just my observation and input... the force? oh I'll use the force, bring me a hammer...
