  2. I'm thrilled to say that I have finally finished my build and already trooped twice since last week! It was so much fun!!! I just sent off my email to my GML(s) for approval so I'm hoping to hear back (but it seems they take a while to get to emails).
  3. Thank you so much! I'll apply as much of these tips as possible
  4. Thanks for the help everyone! So I managed to get them working fine without any modifications. I finished my build and when I put it all on, the straps align nicely and are held down pretty strongly with the elastics. Only problem now is that sometimes the shoulder covers slip out from underneath the little elastics and I'm wondering if there's a trick to this little issue.
  5. Thanks so much! I decided to buy some at regular price since I'm strapped for time.
  6. Does anyone know if these have a pattern of going on sale? I messed up some of my snaps and need to get more, but they're back to $10/10pack and I'd love to get them on sale. Also, maybe some of you have extra lying around you don't need? I'd be happy to buy them off you :)
  7. Thanks! They're off by quite a bit actually, I'd say an inch at least. And I do have the 1/4" white elastic, but will it be strong enough to bring the plastic together?
  8. Hey guys! I glued the shoulder straps onto the chest plate as per ukswrath's tutorial. I also adjusted the back plate shoulder part with a hot water bath to make them fit better. Now I'm not sure what to do with the alignment because it seems that the backplate is wider that the shoulder cover strips so it's all misaligned. What is the best solution for this? I guess I could re-glue the cover strips so they open up in the back more, but then they would be skewed in the front on the chest plate. Or I could bend the back to conform to the front plate? I don't think that the white elastic will be strong enough to align all this. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
  9. EDIT: my bad, looks like you guys added all the functions of something like the icomm right into this amp! Am I right? I have to ask... What's modified in this amp that's bundled with your kit? Looks identical to this "New Online N74" amplifier (with the same branding): http://www.amazon.com/Waistband-Teacher-Amplifier-Portable-Microphone/dp/B007OPYGB8 And the wireless mic also looks the same as one of those Chinese brands: http://www.amazon.com/Tomlov-Wireless-Microphone-Headset-Receiver/dp/B01DNJKUI6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
  10. They're correct!
  11. I disagree. To me, it looks like he's got them correct! The outside halves have a smooth curve all the way to the bottom, while the inner halves have a much more pronounced dip in the curve which matches the upper part of the calf muscle. edit: you can also tell this follows the anatomy correctly because the inner shells are longer at the bottom.
  12. Has anyone received their china brand one yet?
  13. I'll recheck everything but resistors don't care which way they're installed. Something else may be backwards, but since the device works, I suspect it's all good?!
  14. I too messed something up It works, but only one ear. It works quite well and clear which is great! But the other ear doesn't work. If I talk into the good mic, it's amazing, but when I talk into the other mic, it's VERY faint, super distorted and what makes it even weirder is that the sound coming out of the same earbud as the other working one?!?! I re-soldered it and it's still the same. I reversed polarity and that's definitely not it. I fear I may have burned the microphone out perhaps? I did struggle to solder the wire onto it and it got quite hot. Any ideas? Oh and one other thing! Does anyone get heavy distortion/sound cut out when you tap on the device or mic? Even walking around holding this thing, with every step it does that. It seems quite sensitive to movement and I'm wondering if this is normal. Thank you!
  15. Haha fair enough! Thanks for testing man. Now I know what I'll do
