  1. Hey Mikey, sorry to say but AM is no longer making armor. I know, we're bummed too. You could look into TM or RT as alternative's.
  2. Another great Troop report Glen. Love the write-up.
  3. From your picture it looks like you have the room to trim both halves down on forarms. Are you a big guy? Sent from my LGMS631 using Tapatalk
  4. Traditionally the arm's are 15mm coverstrips. Meaning each half is trimmed to 7.5mm. Make sense? Sometimes people need to go wider because you have to get your hand through opening at wrist. Which all return edge is removed from. For the rest of armor coverstrips. thighs front and back and front of shins are 20mm and back of shins are 25mm coverstrips glued only to outside half of shin in back. Hope this helps.
  5. Like Steve said. Sign up with your local Garrison. They can definitely give you a hand on the local level and you could probably give them a hand wrangling/handling at troops while you're assembling yours. That way you can see how the armor goes on and see what fun you're in for. We all started where you are Mike. Staring at a box full of awesome and wondered how am I going to do this? It's not that hard with the help here. Trust me. Looking foward to your build thread Mike. Just take your time. You doing your best makes Us look our best! Good Luck Future Trooper!
  6. Leia wore the binders when she was yelled at from her Dad for taking the car, er, secret plans. I have the Disney binders. The clasp was tough at first but if you use them they break in nicely.
  7. Only they can make that call. But I'd say yeah it could affect it. Did you check out the original photos yet? And I believe they don't ask for notches anyways for EIB. It's more of a personal wanting to follow original OCD thing. Which good for you in doing it. Oh yeah, go a little easy on the glue! Lol Sent from my LGMS631 using Tapatalk
  8. Congratulations Teresa! And welcome to the Centurion Ranks!
  9. Looking good so far! I agree you have to trim a little more on the ab. The return edge needs to lose that bot and dead end at 90° from face edge of armor.Keep up the good work!
  10. Looking good so far. I'd only recommend going easy on the bevels on your coverstrips. They're pretty steep. Especially on the top of your thigh in photo above. Check out the photo's in the gallery of original suit. Keep up the good work! We're rooting for you!
  11. Welcome to the FISD Ryan! It will take you awhile to learn the acronyms. Those are vendors that make armor. You can learn all that and more in the Getting Started section. I'm a bigger Trooper myself and went with RT-MOD for mine. We have Troopers of all sizes so don't let that discourage you. Theirs alot of infomation to check out before picking your armor. It's probably the most important decision you'll make in this Hobby. Just take your time and if a question comes up you can't find the answer just ask. We're here to help. Be sure to check out the Advanced Tactics section after you pick which brand you're going with and see how others have brought them to movie accurate. Good Luck Future Trooper!
  12. You got this Teresa! Looking good girl!
  13. That's weird. I float a few pairs, ok 3 and I've got over 30 troops on my Nike Pro including a few parades and nothing wrong at all. Even UnderArmor holds up nice. If you have a return edge on the thighs it is definitely rubbing or even snagging to make a hole like that. How about a picture of your thighs. Inside and out. You definitely want to fix this. Even cheap compression wear would end up costing you big dollars.
  14. Easy Sarge, I don't think he made it into the pack line yet! Glad to have you with us Pete! And remember, Duck when you leave the ship.Them bulkheads sneak up on ya!☺
  15. I agree with Joseph. I check mine after every troop before putting away. I have to aay my RT is a tank. After 100+ troops I've only had one shoulder bridge crack which was fixed with braces. If your armor is sized and constructed properly it should last 100's of troops. Glad to hear so many are happy with their Anovos. A few Garrison mate's have it and it seems like the thinness helps to let it flex and come back.
  16. Way to go Pete! Now go get dirty and get that EIB Badge! Congratulations!
  17. Congratulations Sarah! Those are some easy fixes. For my pack I dry brushed with a dab motion aluminum paint on the obvious edges that would get banged and scratched. Mainly edges of boxes and radio and don't forget edges of pan. I even lightly did trace scratches around radio knobs simulating many years of turning. Again Congratulations and looking foward to you joining the Centurion Ranks.
  18. Welcome to the FISD John! Glad to hear BBB Day is close. Just take your time and ask any questions if you're not sure on something. We're here to help you along the way. Will you be joining the "March to 1000" EIB's with us? Every Trooper counts! Looking foward to your build. Just take your time. it's not a race, it's an adventure! You doing your best makes Us look our best! Good Luck John!
  19. Congratulations Jim! Welcome to the ranks! Making that RT look good!
  20. Glad to hear you're back at it Ron. We're here for you Brother!
  21. Yes it's the same rules for both. It's not that bad since one thigh gets ammo pack and back can be crescent cut. Leaving one. Which you could undo innerstrip and close more or live with it. You are wearing a black undersuit anyway. It would be hard to notice.
  22. Congratulations Justin! Welcome to the ranks!
  23. You're on your way! Great adventures ahead!
  24. That's probably cause he's working. He's gone from things at times. I have RT and it's worth the wait. Give it a bit and send another email. Good Luck!
