  1. First, you gotta' reach EIB, Danny! Do you have the correct rivets you need for the ab and kidney plates? If not, just PM me and I will send you some. Always glad to help out a future HWT! On a side note, I have found that one of those "Mr.Clean" white sponge things does wonders for removing light scuffs from your armor.
  2. GREAT job on the pack, Danny! Not sure if it will pass HWT, though.. Apparently, the pack in the main HWT CRL photo is going to be changed to reflect the one pictured towards the bottom. Also, I would seriously consider adding some "blaster residue" to your armor. It only takes some charcoal dust, a ladies "blush" brush, and some hairspray to keep it on. (All easily removable with some Windex). For a perfect example of this, check out Tony's (ukswrath) HWT Centurion submission photos. He also has a great tutorial on building an HWT pack. But there is a major problem I see, though.... It looks like your T-21 could use some work.... If you want to send it to me, I can make the necessary changes, and have it back to you in about, oh, 3 years or so. Just kidding, outstanding job! I am jealous as hell!
  3. Awesome idea, Charles!!!
  4. I think it is largely a matter of comfort, Andy... I did end up trimming down the tops of my forearms, but left a small return edge. Since the tops of the biceps can not be seen, I trimmed those as well, which stopped them from biting into me. I wouldn't go crazy on them yet, though, until someone with a lot more knowledge weighs in.
  5. Thanks for the input! I was going to model the pack after the one shown in the top photos of the HWT CRL, but apparently that will be changing. I was told that the one in the lower photo would be the one that they are going with, so that is the reason I went that direction.
  6. I actually ended up using 10 inch sections of 1x2 pine board. I spray-painted them black, and used electrical tape on the top 2 inches to "dress it up" a bit. To be honest, the weight is next to nothing, and they fit perfectly! I also used Tony's (ukswrath) method to attach the shoulder pouch, and it worked like a charm!
  7. Yes, it got approved for basic, Ed. Had to fix a few things after I got my TK EIB, and planning on submitting it for HWT EIB after my first troop with it later this month.
  8. Good call, Eric.. If that is indeed the PVC tube you are referring to, Ed, mine is 2 1/2 inches wide and 24 inches long, based on Tony's (ukswrath) awesome build.
  9. Hi Fernando! Yes, run away from this armor... very fast. If you haven't already, I would suggest going to the "Getting Started, READ THIS FIRST.." area on the main board, and then checking out the thread "The various armors, and where to find them". All of your questions will be answered! Best of luck to you on your TK journey!
  10. Hola! Just thought I'd start the weekend off with a smile... We all love the big guy in black, but I always wondered if there were other reasons for him transforming into Darth Vader. Here are a few possibilities... This is to be taken tongue in cheek, folks...just too much time to kill this afternoon... 1. Wanted a cool voice like James Earl Jones.... 2. Owed money to Jabba the Hut, could re-finance through the Imperial Credit union... 3. Wanted to use The Force to prop up his Chrysler stock... 4. Charmed by Emperor Palpatine's seductive after shave... 5. To impress the babes... 6. To escape the taunting of overly dorky name... 7. Sick and tired of mentor Obi-Wan reciting lines from "Bridge Over the River Kwai"... 8. Generous Dark Lords of the Sith pension fund. Any other ideas? Have a great weekend, all...
  11. I have a Husky 50 gallon tote.. It has wheels, an extendable handle, and 3 locks. Runs about $65.00 at Home depot, and everything fits perfectly!
  12. One word... WOW! Outstanding job, Troy! I would almost be scared to troop with it and risk getting it scratched!
  13. Snaps and Velcro here. The added bonus of snaps is that you can take it apart for storage/transportation.
  14. You might want to post what area you are in... There may be someone in your area that can hook you up without having to pay crazy shipping charges. Also, a lot of it depends on how far you want to take the build. I modeled mine after a few different ones, but mainly Dark CMF's. His build was amazing, and would give you a reference point to start researching many of the great ones that can be found here.
  15. I solved this potential problem by re-painting my Doopydoos to be more "public friendly". Haven't been bothered yet!. ---------
  16. Nice build, Benjamin, and GREAT paint job on the bucket!!!!!! I think you have this one nailed...
  17. If you do use the foam, all you need is 1 inch thick, cut into 1 1/2 to 2 inch strips. I have 3 of various lengths in each calf, which also helps to keep them from shifting around, and haven't experienced any problems with connecting the backs.. (I do have small calves, though).
  18. Hi Randy! I had the same problem... I had to cut down the bottom half of my calf to make some additional space at the knee, and I used the foam method. I personally wouldn't recommend bending the knee plate, as it would distort it, and could affect your TK approval. P.S... I installed the foam strips using Velcro, so they could be taken out for cleaning purposes, i.e. sweat!
  19. Matthew, perhaps you could use a "China marker" or grease pencil to draw on the area of your thigh you have the question about, and then post a pic.
  20. Really nice build! I would echo the opinions of the belt, it looks too low. I had the same problem, so I glued snaps to the inside of the belt/ab plate to keep it from hanging down. Worked like a charm! Also, if you plan on going for Centurion, you might want to paint the rivets on your thigh ammo pack, and I'm not sure about those mic tips. Looking good, and best of luck!
  21. Hey Matthew, I had the exact same problem.. I ended up cutting about half an inch off the tops of mine. Since you don't need the return edge, you can take off what you need. I would suggest scribing a line to follow the contours, and taking off a small amount at a time, because once it's gone, it's gone! You will be REALLY surprised at how much difference it will make!
  22. Joseph Pedigo 10963 EIB Letter Many Thanks!
  23. I was using a padded, hand crafted Moroccan leather case, custom made in London to fit My E-11. Then the alarm clock went off, and I woke up. It was a towel the whole time.
