  1. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out, Barry, but if all else fails you could actually take it to Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. and the person in the hardware dept. would probably be more than happy to hook you up with the correct size(s).
  2. Not sure if this will be approved in the near future, Pedro, but that will depend solely on the "powers that be". I'll agree with you that it really is a sharp looking TK, but the name Shock Trooper may get a bit confusing, as it is also the other name for the present Heavy Weapons Troopers. Plus, there are 2 other factors I can think of... are there any clear, accurate, close-up screen shots of the pack? And that DLT-19 has certainly been heavily modded. This would definitely make a cool build if there were more details.
  3. Way to go, Hans, and welcome to the Centurion ranks, sir!
  4. I'm still trying to do the math, but I wonder how many years of subsisting soley on ramen noodles it would take to save up a quarter million dollars for that Rebel fleet trooper helmet. Wish me luck....
  5. Unfortunately AM, like most reputable, approvable armorers, does not offer the kits pre-made, but there are some that do, like RS. It is always suggested that you do it yourself though for several reasons, Timothy... The main one is that you know that it will fit perfectly when complete. Also, down the road, if it ever needs repairs, you will be confident enough to do it. Yes, it may seem a bit daunting, but with the help of the tutorials and build threads you can find here, (along with unlimited assistance from FISD members), it can be something you will be proud to wear once you are done. Not sure what area you are in, but there may be a local Garrison you can get in touch with and perhaps find someone to help you out in person. Many Garrisons also hold "armor parties", where help in building is offered to new members. You can check this link to find one..http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php#garrisons Hope this helps!
  6. I (and many others) got to Centurion using his regular one, so you are quite safe!
  7. If you are looking for a quality neck seal, look up Darman and shoot him a PM. Great product/price/customer service! You can get them with a Velcro or zipper fastener.
  8. Absolutely! The first photo is from my Centurion application. The second ones show some modifications I made after adding Tony's (ukswrath) awesome background TK chatter audio system. I mounted the speaker inside the actual "speaker" box, covered it with mesh, and made a small box to go on the side to hold the components.
  9. Welcome, Michael, and great to hear you are going for HWT, (we can always use more in the ranks)! Have you checked out the HWT pack build threads yet? There are a lot of great ones listed here:http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/45-heavy-weapons-trooper/ I used two of the best as a reference, (ukswrath and Templar726) and sort of combined them into one. All the best on your HWT journey, and if you have any questions about anything, let us know!
  10. Excellent suggestion by Vern!!
  11. Always glad to hear of a new HWT joining the ranks, Wayne! For my pack,, I did a mash-up of ukswrath's and Templar 726's fantastic builds. If I can be of any help, just PM me, and have a blast building it!
  12. It can be done, I suppose, but not without hours and hours of work. Also, it would never get you approved at any level, even basic.
  13. Try these, Chris... http://www.amazon.com/Compression-Shirt-Long-Sleeve-Basketball/dp/B00FJ7HWLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443008518&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=black+compression+shirt http://www.amazon.com/H2H-SPORT-Compression-Leggings-KMBLP0123/dp/B00VFW3H0C/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1443008583&sr=8-5&keywords=black+compression+pants
  14. Avoid any paint stripper that contains acetone, Brian, which will definitely melt the ABS. Some great advice from Q about wet sanding.. I always suggest using Sandblaster Pro flexible sanding sheets from 3M, 220 grit. I swear by this stuff! It is made from silicone instead of paper, so is crazy flexible, (you can wad it up into a ball and it pops back into shape), and it seems to last forever! I used only 2 sheets for my entire build, and am still using one of those for various projects. I got it from Lowe's, but I would imagine most home improvement stores sell it as well. Great for getting into small crevices and stuff.
  15. A lot of your supply questions can be answered in my thread here, Jonathan. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/ As for the belt, are you planning on making it yourself? If not, you can find an excellent one here, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19803-fs-white-canvas-belts/. For general assembly instructions, trhttp://trooperbay.com/assemble-accurate-stromtrooper-armor/ . I think perhaps you over ordered on your snaps... If you use the single snap method, you are going to need no more than 40. If you use the double snap method, still less than 60. You also don't have to worry about putting any screws in your armor! If you are referring to the classic strapping system, it uses small nuts/bolts to hold the brackets on. The only time you will need rivets is if you are going for EIB or Centurion. Hope this helps, and have a great time on your build!
  16. I think you should (pardon the pun) stick with E-6000. You won't (and shouldn't use) any solvents, which may damage the finish of your armor. The E-6000 should hold just fine.
  17. Looks like you are nearly ready for Big Brown Box day, Eric! If I may, I would suggest holding off on purchasing a few things on your list of things to buy... like: 1. Hot glue gun- I guess this would be good for a temporary hold, but not a permanent one. 2. Hand sander- I would suggest picking up plain old fine grit sanding sponges and literally wrapping them in the 3M silicone sandpaper. Much cheaper, easy to use, and longer lasting. (Trust me). 3. Heat gun- Hold off on this unless you absolutely need it.
  18. Mine stays in my armor bin, safe and secure, Dustin. I thought about purchasing a mannequin, but the hassle of dressing it, taking it off, packing it up, using it for a troop, then replacing it is just a bit too time consuming for me, and besides, I know the Tampa Bay Squad has TONS of troops per year, which will keep you busy! There are actually several tutorials on Youtube on how to make your own mannequin using duct tape, foam, and PVC pipes which you could check out if you want to go that route.
  19. I'm not that familiar with plaster cloth, so I am not sure if it would adhere to the inside of your bucket too well. It also might make it quite a bit heavier than you'd like, depending on how thick you put it on. I know that a lot of people use the brush on black Plasti-Dip and alternate that with layers of cheesecloth for the effect you are looking for.... the advantage being that if you ever need to remove it, it would be MUCH easier than the plaster, and is also flexible. Just my 2 cents worth..
  20. Once you get them sized correctly, Pat, you might want to invest in some type of "shoe stretcher" like the one in the photo to keep them in shape. Unless I am on a troop, I keep these in mine at all times, and I have found that they really help. They make them adjustable, usually run about $20.00 or so, and can be found online. Hope this helps! ----------
  21. Congrats on a well deserved rank, Brad, well done!!
  22. I agree that "The Mouse" has certainly added quite a few items to the SW merchandise line, but I look at it this way.... I remember buying literally everything related to ANH when it came out in 77, (I got my first job to buy SW stuff), which ended up with me eventually joining the 501st and FISD. You never know, the ones buying these things now could end up being future TKs.
  23. Great to hear you are going for Centurion, Chris! There are several sources for neck seals, but I would recommend Darman. Awesome quality and great customer service, You can PM him through here, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/user/1656-darman/. Best of luck on your build!!
  24. The only things you will need to hand paint are the ear bars, frown, and ab plate buttons. For the bubble lenses, you can try ----------- which is where I got mine. They also carry them in gray. To attach them, I used a product called SUGRU, which is a glue that has the consistency of Play-Doh, which I got at Lowe's in the paint dept. You simply roll it into a small "snake", press it inside the eye openings, press in the lenses on that. Trim off any excess that squeezes out the front, and let it sit for 24 hours. Done deal. Leaving a small open notch near the top will help with ventillation
  25. A quick hint if you weren't already aware, Chris.. I suggest individually wrapping the magnets in blue painter's tape. The reason being is that they are crazy strong, and can scratch your armor when you slide them off.
