26. Make Matthew Smile, Stockton - 9/24 No pictures that I could find of this one, either. It was a last-minute thing put together by Soldiers of the Cross Motorcycle Club for a terminally ill Stockton boy, Matthew. He was a bit shell shocked at all the attention, but when the club presented him with an electric wheelchair, he didn't have much interest in us anymore, haha.

25. Weekend Blender (Fall), Fresno - 9/10 We were a huge hit at the nail salon. I'm the one who hesitated and thought, "Can I sit in those chairs in this armor?" and missed my shot at an open chair. Trend, as I said.

23. Modesto Con - Day 1, Modesto - 7/9 On the right. Guess who I met?! The one and only Doug Jones! Seriously an awesome and super nice guy. Who cares if I have bucket hair?

22. Independent Living Program's High School Gala, Fresno - 6/17 I'm not aware of any photos from this one, unfortunately. It was a bit of an odd event, it was myself and one other TK, but we also spend a good amount of time in the hallway talking and having a great time among ourselves while their program went on. Made a fun story, though, and we had fun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

21. Fresno Grizzlies Star Wars Weekend - Day 2, Fresno - 6/11 First TK on the right, behind the Tusken. (I'll admit it took me a minute to find myself...) A mighty fine looking group of TKs, TDs and a Deathtrooper (Zombie Trooper, now?). First TK on the right. With C3PO, who you probably didn't recognize because of his pink arm. (The event benefits The Susan G. Komen Foundation and Force for the Cure).

12. Honor Guard for US Veteran John Salles, Merced - 5/3 We didn’t pose for pictures. We didn’t engage the crowd and solicit high-fives or wave to newcomers as they came through the door, or ask if they had seen any droids. It wasn’t that kind of troop. We stood quiet and still, feeling the unique strain of standing still in full garb and armor, but unwavering in our vigil. ID-39999 and I, TK-29118, stood guard at the viewing for John Salles, of Merced, California, United States Veteran, former Dos Palos Police Officer and Merced County Sheriff Officer, and fellow nerd. Mr. Salles was involved in World War II and Civil War reenactors, a collector of sci-fi paraphilia, including a Wrath of Kahn Starfleet uniform worn by Leonard Nimoy himself, and was building his own Anovos TK. Several family members approached us and shook our hands, thanking us for being there. A few took pictures. One grinned as she high-fived us. We were told more than once it was a perfect touch, and exactly what Mr. Salles deserved in a final send off. Mr. Salles was laid to rest in a military funeral on May the 4th, 2016, also apt. It wasn’t a fun troop; it was a good troop.
