  1. Thanks ! New pictures : This side is good, but I may have to "square" the bottom ends of the lines a bit : This one is ... meh. The left line is clearly not correct, it annoys me : The ears ! Theay are a bit thick at the base but I think I will let them like that, too hard to get them better ! I will just adjust some places on the back to try to flatten the upper part :
  2. Thanks ! But it is better in the picture... When I have it in my hands it looks like a mess... I completed all the black lines this evening, I'll post the pictures tomorrow. It's really really hard to do a straight line ! Now all the hard parts are done on it, the rest should be easy :-)
  3. It was the nickname my (now ex) girlfriend created in the dark times before Internet, when we were on BBS. Boy that was long ago ... She wanted to mix spicy and spy-see (long story but she kind of stalked me at the time) and she ended up with that. I took it from her and I used it for 20 years ...
  4. Some progress : Yeah, the lines are not straight ... But that's the goal, isn't it ? I need to clean up a bit between lines (and the lines themselves), but I was too tired to do that without messing up.
  5. Thanks guys, now I'm afraid to do that
  6. I don't know what you mean by your deleted comments ... We never had absolute freedom of speech, we never will, and it's a good thing. Your freedom stops where the freedom of the others start. I don't say that it applies to you ... But I don't want to live in a place where anybody can say anything. We must respect each other to have a functional society. Depending what you are saying, you can hurt other people. Sometimes hurting people with words can do a lot more damage than physically hurting someone. And if someone hurt me physically, he can go in jail for that. What to do with someone who says aggressive things in public ? What to do with bullying ? Is bullying someone permitted because of freedom of speech ? Again, maybe it does not apply with your situation, but we must be cautious with the words "freedom of speech" ...
  7. Another good picture I just found from the event, 4 TK in the same picture ! I'm on the left, and Tolo is on the right.
  8. Thanks ! The error I did was to try to do the same as the stickers.
  9. I think it's not THAT bad ... I was afraid it would be a complete mess. Still a couple of corrections to do on the black outline, but nothing serious.
  10. Thanks ! I enlarged them a bit. I'm not sure it's enough, I'll check later, after it dries up. And I began painting the ears :
  11. Inner drop boxes received and adjusted. I didn't glue them in the drop boxes because I want to get them "openable" with magnets. Blaster shipped today, woo hoo Still undecided for the handguards And for the helmet ... I decided to go black I also began to paint the helmet, since this helmet will serve for Centurion status : The back ones must not be rounded at the bottom, I'm doing that this evening. The problem I have is : are the "cheek" ones big enough ? I tried to go with the same size as the stickers but it seems a bit small ... And on other helmets it seems bigger ... What do you think ?
  12. What do you mean by foam gas ? What does it do ?
  13. Some other pictures : Lightsaber duel ! I had to remove my helmet, he was a bit scared ... I take a lot of space ! Comparing armor bites ... We met an astronaut ! I got a weekend job !
  14. We had a small event last weekend ! It was a kind of comics festival. It was organized by the city of Shawinigan, and promoted comics. Here is a link to an interview of one of the promoters : http://ici.radio-canada.ca/regions/mauricie/2015/02/07/004-festival-interglacial-bd-shawinigan-perro.shtml . My son is the Jawa to the left, I'm at the right, and during the interview we can see Tolo walking around. A couple of pictures : A new employee (me) at the library ! A Jawa reading a book on Darth Vader : Where's Waldo ? Lord Vader finally discovers the complete story ... Tolo and ... I'm not sure who he is ! A lot of fun, many pictures, and a few scared younglings as usual
  15. Oh, and I'd wait before cutting ab and cod, you should try it with all the body attached correctly and belt to feel it. Mine is not cut and I probably won't cut it.
  16. It's a great moment that first time you put it all together :-) You should be OK without shimming, from the pictures. For the thigh, wait until you try to climb stairs with them, you will know if you have to trim.
  17. I got it - really fast ! - and it works very well, with the sound at maximum. It will be placed on the forearm, and each button will be placed in the palm of the hand, one under each finger.
  18. It *might* work with AP, my legs are almost that size. But at 44" you will definitely have to shim the sides. Check other kits though, it may be fitting better.
  19. AP will be small for you. I'm around 36" at the waist and I had to shim the sides. The thighs and shins were almost too small (but I have big thighs). You can shim the body sides but thighs will be harder to do. Not impossible, but it can be difficult depending on your leg and arm sizes.
  20. You'll need something like 1" shim on each side on the AP, but it will fit great except for that.
  21. It was a great day ! We got a few scared younglings (+/- 3yo) but removing our helmets for a couple of minutes helped them to get used to us.
  22. Thanks ! Yeah I'll probably dye it to be more brownish. I have soo much trouble with the eyes ! I tried with opaque acrylic paint, it's not bad but since the light is a lot less bright it is easier to see that the paint is not uniform ... I'm not able to spread it evenly. And each coat adds to the opacity, it's not really good. I tried also with stained glass paint (vitrail ?), but it's too transparent, the light is a lot too bright.
  23. Thanks A LOT ! That was the missing piece for my son's jawa. Uttini !
  24. I put velcro on the inside bottom of the shins, and on the front and back of the boots. It stays in place, except when I force a lot. The only downside is the noise ! When I walk : crounch crounch crounch ... I hate it ! I'm thinking to try using snaps and nylon straps (or elastics, not sure) that goes under my feet so it's my feet that keep the shins from popping.
