  1. Permission to come aboard......501st Legion Old Line Garrison TK-10114 SIR! http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=17923
  2. The AP bucket is done. I did some things differently and mixed up some parts. I used the darker lens, brow & s-seal, frown mesh and paints from Trooperbay. Mic tips are the best as supplied to RS and other accurate suppliers from the UK. I made the foam and chin strap and sprayed the inside with Plasti Dip. I am really satisfied and cant wait to "dawn" this bucket! The other will be known as the "first" and be put on display. My two TKs in training love both!
  3. Your the same as I at 5'-9" and 175lbs and I went with Armor Master. Plenty of room to take away for a good fit.
  4. What is the difference between the two? I got two set of stripes; Stunt & Hero in my AM bucket and with my new AP a set and they are different in width for the Stunts. Can Hero be used if they look the same?

  6. I have been slow and steady but have made some really good progress despite the hand fubar! I tried the decals that can with the kit and even after not being at all happy the extra AM set and well out came the brushes! I used a gloss enamel and then painted over with a flat black for the vocorder and it has a neat thick look to it. I liked it so much I did my AM bucket too! The inside came out great with the plasti dip spray paint. Hardly any clean up due to a great masking tape job! Next step is fitting of the darker green lens, figuring out the padding and the voice digitizer system that is all in helmet.
  7. The AM is the stunt helmet kit only. The chest and back plates from ATA and AM I had a picture of them and can't find it? I don't know of any other kits that are in the bright white as AM.
  8. I had some of the issues you had after my first troop. The left leg slipped down and my thigh was clicking on the sniper knee pad. I also had issues with the mic on the iComm. I had to put it right up against my mouth but other than that it worked well. I wonder if like other mics there is a certain position (usually a white line) that it needs to be in? The helmet was fine nothing moved around. My left bicep kept coming out of the shoulder bell. I will strap that in place. What pads did you order from Amazon? Can you pm me with that info?
  9. I managed to not hit any vital spots on my hand and the healing is going well, so well that I managed to go back to working on the AP stunt helmet. I noticed a few things between the AM and AP. The AM is a brighter white and also bigger. The ears are really wide making the helmet look even bigger. It is also much thicker ABS. STUPIDITY! AP vs. AM The ears fit really well on the AP after some minor filing and moving some holes. I had to open up the head hole from what was trimmed from AP. I did spray the inside with plastidip and started painting the teeth, traps, and voice bars. I tried the decals but I was not happy with the irregular areas in the tears traps. So far so good!
  10. Well its funny but in the midst of trimming the bottom opening I managed to cut my hand pretty badly.......5 stitches so not much more to do for a few weeks beside maybe paint. Now kids don't play with knives!
  11. I had a malfunction with my old AM ones where the bicep popped out. I went to order another set so I could attach TK ID numbers and maybe a garrison or other patch/insignia and this is what they only have now so I will try a set.
  12. ---------------- is the page for the comparison.
  13. Polar why cant you be flocking serious for once!
  14. Did anyone with a AM 2.0 know that Am has new shoulder bells? They are not interchangeable but shaped like the originals. I just ordered a set.......I hope they keep past buyers in-tune with the latest updates.
  15. I ended up without due to the fact of trial and error with how well things would work out after my first troop why do all that and have to trim more off possibly? In the end I think in my case it worked well and had no issue with looks without return edges I am going to leave it alone.
  16. I ended up with a AP bucket to build and I think its going to be paint inside and many on here go with a black plastic-dip-paint from Home Depot? Anyone add to the specifics?
  17. I went with ATA for the chest and back plate on my AM armor. I am very happy with them.
  18. Sly-any tricks or tips I should know about?
  19. Well guys I did my first troop with my AM armor and things went well. Besides a shoulder bell malfunction and neck seal it was almost perfect. I met with Matt, TK4108 prior and he had an Authentic Props helmet and a few weeks earlier I had made the decision to replace my AM with a smaller AP. There is a difference between the two that in my case have a small melon and short neck makes it an easy choice to go with the smaller helmet. There is that much of a difference plus AP is a 2 pieces vs. 3 piece AM. The AP helmet came today. Its trimmed, so besides some minor clean up its ready to go together. My plans so far are: -Paint the inside black. Can anyone provide the plastic tool paint from Home Depot that is commonly used? -Correct brow trim (have), neck seal (have), mic tips (coming from UK) and dark eye lens (ordered). -Helmet fans (ordered) -Mesh for the frown (have) -Hand paint the ear bumps, teeth, front/rear/eye traps and tube stripes -Padding is undetermined even though I have the original style starfish foam -Chin strap (make) The AM bucket will be a father/daughter TD Sandtrooper weathering project.
  20. I do have to say that about 50% of the build was from FISD supporters. Shout out to Sly! Its is addictive and the best part is that no matter what its about having fun even if some jerk blew up your death star! Here are a few pics from that event and yes the chicks dig the uniform!
  21. Clint-Put a notch-trim the left side top-rear of the forearm like the right one so you can bend your arm all the way and not pinch.
  22. Everything you will need should be able to be sourced on or from here!
  23. Bracket kit is Mr. No Stripes here in FISD and for the brackets try the for sale and on going projects section.
  24. Most excellent! Just make sure you bring extra parts (snaps, elastic webbing, etc.) for that first outing!
  25. Thanks James! I'm already signed up for 3 events for 15!
