  1. Like Steve said, make sure you drill the holes prior to gluing them. And when you mark your lenses to cut, don't be afraid to leave a bunch of excess at first until you get them shaped to your eye and have your holes drilled. Then, and only then should you trim more off the lenses. I learned the hard way on one set lol
  2. The wooden dowel works too, i just opted for the abs stack. Just a personal preference
  3. I second Steves method! It worked like a charm, and i can easily remove the lenses if needed.
  4. Gotcha! Gonna see if i can source one locally. That way if I don't like it i can always return it.
  5. Horns up! I hear Darkside of the Moon in the background! Thanks for sharing!
  6. So if you decided to go with a throat mic that has a ear piece, just clip off the ear piece and thats it?
  7. The small rounded screws are technically for the other ab button plate. If you used them for the belt-canvas attachment, and they become loose over time, you may run into issues with tightening them, depending on how your glue the rivet squares on the front of the plastic belt. What I did was rivet snaps, using 2 washers plus the snap on the inside of the plastic, and then marked corresponding snaps on the canvas, that way my plastic belt is completely removable from my canvas belt
  8. If anything, I would trim the inside portion down to match that flat on the inner thigh.
  9. I used white out. Works like a charm and scrapes right off
  10. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=391071829456 Is it just me, or is THIS a horrible markup that hopefully some poor unfortunate soul may end up buying. Looks like a rubies blaster thats just been painted and weathered. At an average starting cost of $13, this, my friends, is ridiculous.
  11. Im going to have go get one of these now with my doopy doo resin on the way. Perhaps ill have to bug TuskenRTT about it and see if we can wire his up first before i pull the trigger? Lol. I do have some silk glove liners i can attempt to sew on, but likely the cotton liners would work better
  12. Cant wait to see what ya have up your sleeve Eric! congrats to all the troopers in this cabinet of Aloha! Lets get this party started! This is the year of the TK!
  13. Mine works well like that. Just make sure you heat bend the belt
  14. Congrats again!!! Lets get this party starteeeeeed!
  15. Congrats Eric! Aloha for life!!!
  16. Enjoy it! Research build threads, PLENTY of build threads to choose from I would probably save the helmet for last though, it is probably the hardest part of the armor, besides the thighs! But, it can be done!
  17. That ATA chest really looks good with the AM armor! Good job!
  18. Well, just for the sake of anyone reading this that MAY run into the same problem, I got it all situated! I pulled apart as much rubber as i could from the latex handguard(DO NOT FORCE IT BECAUSE IT COULD RIP YOUR HANDGUARD), and then I just simply trimmed around the edges of the handguard, got another set of gloves, and reglued. When i glued, i took the advice of DarkCMF(Tim) and put the rubber glove on, prepped the area of ONE corner, got the handguard into position, applied the glue, and pressed down. Then i took the glove off after the glue dried and the handguard was secured, and commenced with gluing the rest of the handguard to the glove. This way, the handguard is in perfect positioning and you can avoid runs of super glue. I used Loctites Plastic Bonding System Glue, a suggestion from Gazmosis(Steve). Works AMAZINGLY! Its a two part glue, come with a prep marker and a regular sized bottle of super glue(CA glue). And yes this prep pen DOES work with any super glue, so if you run out, hopefully you have a stock pile of various super glues like myself
  19. Thanks everyone for the help! Going to the store for another set of gloves tonight! Scott, i already got some Nomex gloves ill let ya try em on at the armor party next week!
  20. Get the rubbermaid chemical resistant gloves near that paint isle. Also at walmart
  21. Careful with those gloves. Ive gone through a pair already, the cuff is pretty fragile when pulling them on.
  22. Well more like i glued 40%. I don't mind scrapping the glove if i must, its the handguard that will bug me if i have to scrap it.
  23. Well, i was gluing my latex handguards to my rubber gloves, was going good until this happened. Was wiping the excess CA glue that began to run, rag got glued to my glove, and tore my glove :/ This is my first time gluing handguards to gloves, so if you could so kindly......PLEASE HELP! I got about 50% of the handguard glued up to this point, is there a way to remove the handguard(i used CA glue with a prep marker)? Is there a way to possibly repair the hole in the glove(these are AP's rubber gloves)? Or am i basically SOL and needing to either buy another set of handguards, or just buy them already glued from trooperbay? So freakin frustrated....
  24. Good luck Steve! Hopefully im not too far behind ya on Centurion approval! Looking good!
