  1. I think it could be due the amount of gold on the faceplate, compared to the small amount in the cracks. Also the weathering can change how the light catches and reflects it. A combination of gold leaf and paint was used to fix up areas due to wear or damage on the Night Troopers, I would wager the same happened with Enoch in some areas. We believe it is probably supposed to look the same.
  2. Beautiful build Mike, and well worthy of the accolade. Congratulations and welcome to Expert infantry rank
  3. Congratulations Matt, and welcome to centurion rank
  4. We will be here on your return. Hope all is ok.
  5. Welcome back to FISD Wayne. Good to see another FOTK gearing up for approval. All the best with the fitting and application.
  6. Making great progress on the printing Dylan. Looks like a decent sized resin printer! How many hours did that gauntlet take to complete?
  7. Hi Tom, Ultimately, yes we will need a CRL model, not just for the top section but also have all the part images for the side of the CRL. We have indeed started work on writing the CRL and building the wiki doc for it. Pretty much close to the refinement stage of the written words of the CRL. Taking it piece by piece, but I will say, with the level of variations we see on screen, there is a degree of builder flexibility with this one. Being true to what we see and allowing some creativity is actually more difficult to get down in words than it sounds. Keep an eye on this thread, and by all means chime in with any suggestions. The more eyes across it, the better.
  8. Excellent. Will be great to hash this out and come up with images to add to the CRL for optional accessories.
  9. Generally speaking, the belt closure is the buckle section, or at least that was my understanding. Rear would mean closing at the back not the front as a ANH TK the belt wraps around from the front and closes at the back behind the Thermal detonator. This may just be a simple error as I thought the Enoch belt closed at the front, but I could be mistaken.
  10. Congrats on your 75 Morgi, now updated for you.
  11. Congrats Slouch, all updated for you.
  12. Congratulations on your first 10 troops! Updated for you.

    The 1500

    The 1500, force by numbers!
  15. Greeting all, Calling all attaches and approved 501st Stormtrooper members Last year, we launched a new campaign to further grow our ranks of Expert Infantry troopers. Advance to 1500! Link for the newsletter launch: March FISD Newsletter Advance to 1500 launch What is Expert Infantry you ask? Well, putting it simply, it's making some tweaks and minor additions or changes to your armour, edging closer to screen accuracy. Now EI as we call it, was introduced back in the day when we had very few vendors, and the armour itself wasn't as accurate as the superb level of kits we have available today. It was designed to make those kits, and FX specifically, look a little better. This tradition carried on, and over time it has become easier to build your armour to the EI level, with vendors making improvements and in some cases making easily available the little extra bits that make the difference. This is perfect for anyone joining the 501st and wanting a touch more authenticity without spending much more on achieving it. By its very design, EI was made to be easily achievable and low cost. A few years back, we developed a program called "March to 1000", the aim to hit 1000 troopers approved at EI level. We had a supportive merch run along the way, and achieved the 1000 mark a couple of years ago now, celebrating with a very special piece of merch many will remember for the Victory 1000. Now back to "Advance to 1500"....... Back in the March 23 newsletter, I mentioned we would have some incentives along the way to help us all sing the virtues of Expert infantry level, assist new and existing members to take on the easy challenge of building to, or upgrading their armour, and gain some more momentum. We also relaunched a new and improved Armorers award program in the slow build up of momentum towards our 1500 target. Well fellow troopers, the time is coming close to releasing our first real push with a special piece of merch that will help us get the word out on Advance to 1500. A talking piece, something many may find both cool and useful. I might now have your attention if you are reading this, but we are not quite ready to let you know what this item is yet, but we promise to announce it very soon. Come help us support fellow and new members in the endeavor to reach the goal of 1500 proud and approved Expert Infantry rank troopers. Here is a little teaser to spark your interest with more to come. And don't forget

  16. Welcome Matt, looking forward to your build progress. Exciting to see another one under construction
  17. Hi Alex, and thank you for the feedback. As Chris mentioned, this is a learning curve for us, coming from all hard armour, so we are slowly learning. I have a set contact, who has given us a couple of small pieces of information on general costumes from the show, but as you can understand with NDA's etc there isn't a great deal they can share. I'm still working on that to get clarity on a few things, so I hope we can get some useful hints that may help us out here. Magnificent costume sir, I love your level of detail, it's beautiful.
  18. Welcome back Cody! As you can see, we are still here and ready to assist where ever we can. Definitely create that build thread, it's the best way to get feedback. Use IMGUR to share images. It's a hosting site, which will allow you to share stacks of photos. (free to use) Use this thread to learn how.
  19. Congratulations Cormac!!
