Starfox2010's TFA Stormtrooper Build
Starfox2010 replied to Starfox2010's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Got to work this weekend, the family finally let me. Connected the shoulders and biceps. Finally connected the backplate. I missed some spots on the sides, I have to go back and glue them. Pretty good join though. Also filled the return edges. not sure when I decide to be brave enough and fill in the wing gaps a bit but still planning on it. and also did the shin thingies (I believe that's the proper name for them). I cleaned them up after I took this pic, and doing the puty thing when I finallize all the pieces. Off to the Grebleis, then the belt boxes. Can't do the TD until they send me the messed up piece. still waiting.... -

and to this day, the edges are not sharp enough and the gap isnt close enogh (which is why I messed up). I'm just glad I'ts not set in stone so I can re-evaluate once I feel my armor is finished, before painting. -

Little by little im getting it going. Here's the ab boxes. I kind of messed up, I should have just shaved and evened out the little return edges on them, they were a great fit, however after thinking about it 100x I cut and shaved them off and needed to re form them and wasnt a great fit afterwards, especially the end boxes. The great part is that I don't have to glue them so I can go pack if needed. Holes and screws Ab boxes and fitting. -
Im working on this piece but with the Anovos Armor, doesn't look much different. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/36894-starfox2010s-tfa-stormtrooper-build/page-3#entry512910 You can also take a look at UKSWRATH's build (has links to each piece on first page). It's what i'm going off of. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31877-ukswraths-fotk-build-thread-tk-10116/ Gona have to split the bicep and cut out the trapezoid and ad a cover strip.

Will do Tony, just going to sand down the top rib a bit to lay half way instead of 2/3 of the way. Think I seen what you mean on the Anovos display Sorry for Potato quality. I also finally received my soft parts from Anovos, and the TD replacement piece is on the way. However, not a big deal but the gloves I ordered were Large, and I received Medium. I already got accurate ones that I bought with my boots so I might just sell these if I cant get them replaced. -

So.....I just did it. The forearms got the top put on and glued up to 2/3 of the way, one side of each bicep got the cover strip glued and the yoke got glued. The next session should be the back piece along with the closing of the biceps and adding the ribbed pieces to the v notch. I'm going to also get started on the ab boxes. -

Summer's been crazy and we just got a new puppy so i've been a little tied up. So i've been hiding in the bathroom working on my armor (Walter) Sorry for large images, Photobucket's not working with me right now. Finished the boxes but waiting on gluing then and the top of the forearms untill I get a few pieces to glue all together. Here you can see my cover strip alont with the top measurement Also not quite content with the yoke attachment Right side looks good (of back) Left side not so good (of back) trying to heat bend it little by little. Top view looks good, however you can see how it pops out on the right side of the pic (back left) -

No worries, I'm back and fourth between his and my thread as well, lol. Thanks, I'll do more research on it, I'll figure out if I should use Devcom and level the lines to avoid cracking later. -

Was able to use the belt sander last weekend to level out some pieces to the forearms. Worked on that today. the top lid isn't glued on yet, just getting a feel for it, need to clean it up a bit more. The tape at the wrist side is where i'm planning to stop when gluing. -

Been a while, summer time is no joke, can't get much done with family things going on. Here is what I had so far. installed the chest piece backside. still have to sand down a bit. AB piece. Left Side Right Back Ok heres where im at at the moment. Should I keep trimming some more? Im planning to do 1 piece at a time. the pics show all 3 pieces connected by magnets and clamps. Also, should I remove the extra trim from the center piece to match the front and back piece? Thanks for looking -
Looks great!

Long weekend but was able to get some gluing done. Thighs Ankles and Biceps I have to heat bend the bottom of the ankles a bit, they don't aling right, however I'm going to wait since you're not really going to see them with the ankle covers. Biceps I'm also going to try and make the biceps accurate by redoing the triangles on the front sides of the biceps -

Followed through with the thighs. I'm not going to show the inside. I made some decisions I regret but think I should be fine lol. I still need to smooth the edges out, before I glue. Right Side (out) Is it normal to have one side a little longer? I hope so... Inside (Will be left unglued and to be velcro'd). Outer Left Inner Left (i'm not liking the trim but the way some of the pieces were pulled I couldnt really see the markings to cut. thats my excuse and im sticking to it lol). Suggestions, go for it's? -

well i've been behind schedule, home need some repairs and got a graduation party this week but managed to pull up my big boy pants and go for it. and also started the biceps Tada! Sorry, got so excited I forgot to take individual side view and gap measurement pics. I got set back on the forearms, looks like I really do need a belt sander, I cant seem to even out a side of the fore arm to begin adding the cover strips, and I also can't finish the center chest piece because I need to sand it down a bit. Going to ask around to borrow one here in town. I might move on to thighs and shins. One of the small challenges is being able to have plenty to glue so the mix nosle's on the glue gun don't go to waste on just 1 thing. that makes you really quadruple check to see if what you're about to glue is correct, and not just doing a bunch of pieces to save a nosle.
