  1. Pretty sure if you read his threads, Andy is not making any more. All the latest builds have been shape ways or custom builds
  2. His name is Shannon Noll. Won or came second on one of those Idol/Talent TV shows a few years back
  3. Thanks all. Appreciate the comments
  4. Looks great Michael! I love the JB Weld too. Use it for all my joining and small filling. Even used it last night as a skim coat on a 15cm square piece of flat styrene! Keep up the amazing build.
  5. I've put the wish list items (lights, laser pointers, etc) on hold while I tend to other projects (R6 Astromech being the major one) and we'll call this finished for now. I need 2 books Tino's writing - the book on weathering and the book on photography. I'm ordinary at one and hopeless at the other. About 12 shots (indoors, outdoors, sun, shade), I'm left with 2 worth posting. I'll try get one in gear at the next troop, but not sure when that actually is, could be a while away. Thanks for stopping by as always Ian
  6. Oh, forgot. The Canadian company doesn't even ship to Canada. Carry on....
  7. Any Canadian members able to spend a few minutes finding how much something will be to post to them, then to Australia? Cheers Ian
  8. Is this a build thread? How about keeping all your threads together in the ONE thread so everyone can see your progress
  9. Looks fantastic as always Tino. Lucky you just so happened to have a make up kit handy. Just in your handbag next to the lipstick, was it?
  10. Nice work Brian. Nice avatar too. Getting serious now
  11. You'll get all the sleep you need when you're dead. Looks sharp Brian!
  12. Cheers mate and welcome to the FISD. Be sure to check out the E-11 Build Reference for lots of cool tips and tricks like that one. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32111-fisd-e-11-blaster-reference/
  13. Apart from the opinion on the bullets in the chamber, I would bet my life that not a single negative comment would possibly be forthcoming in this thread. Great work Tino.
  14. Thanks Brian, Tino & Sean. Hmm, yes. It's good and bad when you learn of new idea/products that can possibly be incorporated. Will have to do some more research. Luckily I did only affix that panel with E6000, so I can pry it off if I change my mind
  15. I will look into that Tino. (knowing my luck, laser pointers are illegal too! Too many kids shining them at helicopters and planes over here....) Anyway, small update. With a few parts, I went for strength over stealthy concealment and fixings, so looking into the receiver I had 2 big ugly screws holding the Mag housing in place. Taking a cue from Tino's bullets and Steve's electrical board I went with what I thought would be coming out of that magazine - A red 'kill' charge, and a blue 'stun' charge. Yeah, doesn't look like anything real, but it covers up the bolts when you pull back the charging handle (excuse the dust on the blaster, didn't wipe it down before photography) Oh, and the standard issue Gazmosis magazine upgrade. Sitting here next to the DVH magazine, which was a very good cast, just short. Magnets in place No other mods on that other than paint, so that'll be pictured once it's all together. Thanks for stopping by....
  16. Great work, sorry I missed the last few updates..... And yes, the Blaster Reference is more of how to make mods with a Resin kit, with some blueprints and measurements added later. Not everything unfortunately, as you've discovered. Maybe an update later.... From memory the 2 prisms were either side of the large component in the top right of the picture, but you're past that now. Well done again.
  17. I did seriously think about that Tino. Something along the lines of this could still be simply attached to the side of the scope It does have a corded switch, so yes, could be activated by a hidden switch - trigger would be ideal. Or a simple push button on/off under the receiver - just in front of the bipod as you say. My only concern that stopped me from doing it initially is the gun laws here in Australia. Every replica/prop/etc is illegal anyway, but the more my space ray-gun looks like a real gun, the higher the chance of me getting in trouble. Will keep it at the back of my mind though . Thanks for the suggestion. Oh, you said laser pointer..... Will search for that on eBay, rather than "tactical light" and see what comes up....
  18. Looking good Richard!
  19. Good luck Tahitoa. Looks great. To be honest, I think the action shot is actually required for the 501st database, so I think you'll need a 'real' one aswell. The DO's will confirm and advise.
  20. No, there is no exception for EIB or Centurion. Gun laws are why it's not mandatory for base approval, but for higher levels you need a screen accurate blaster (E-11 or DLT)
  21. Probably Doopy doos, although I have no idea how much the latest craze of 3D printed ones cost. Durability of those would be questionable though. Remember, you don't NEED a blaster for 501st approval, so you can spend a bit more time getting the right one if you wish.
  22. Wow, that's quite large. Mine are size US10. And new but second hand when I bought them, so no idea when they were actually manufactured. I'm guessing you haven't built the armour yet? Maybe build it as wide as you can at the bottom and see how you go...
  23. Actual "TK Boots" TK boots? Mine are about 9.5cm from front to back. No dramas at all getting them under the shins once the shins were together. My first pair of cheap painted boots were really wide, so I slit the elastics so I could squash the front and back together until I could upgrade. I wouldn't want to do that with actual TK Boots though.
  24. There's an idea. That might just be enough contrast that I'm after. Thanks Brian.
