DVH Pipe Build with Extras
I'm Batman replied to I'm Batman's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Good plan. Although I don't think the crack went all the way through, so I could just patch up the outside with the epoxy to give it maximum strength, before fixing the ejector guard. Haha, I did take my handsaw with me expecting that exact situation, and knowing this particular stores customer service, I didn't have any expectations of them helping me... And here on my desktop at work the photos are right aswell, so must be an ipad thing. Oh well.... -
E-11 PVC Pipe Build Templates (Imperial and Metric)
I'm Batman replied to usaeatt2's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Thanks a lot for posting them Aaron. My sight I'm working on is not quite perfect, but reasonably close, so thank you again to allow the comparison. -
Looking good. Don't paint the lenses now

DVH Pipe Build with Extras

No dramas Lou. Personal situation - losing/changing jobs, moving house - meant I couldn't get to this sooner. Full steam ahead now. As full steam as 2 year old twins allows me. -
DVH Pipe Build with Extras
I'm Batman replied to I'm Batman's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Pics of the finished receiver: I did have one blow out with the spade bit. Should have stuck to my trusty dremel. (there's those execution skills of mine ). It'll basically be covered by the guard anyway, so no major drama. Certainly not worth drilling all those holes again. Filing down the bayonet 'flat area'. And preparing for the Sterling folding stock catch to be able to fit in there. The Pipe wall thickness is a little too thick to accept the catch. This should do it, but will need to finalise once I get to installing the stock properly. Trying to find a mate with an Oxy torch to do Aaron's way of heating it off. Thanks for any comments/suggestions. Ian -
DVH Pipe Build with Extras
I'm Batman replied to I'm Batman's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Oh no, I'll be needing luck and plenty of it. Research is my strong point. Execution, well...... we'll see. Weird about the photos, but all future build shots will be taken with a real camera, not iphone, so shouldn't have any future dramas. They were only pics of the worlds longest E-11 Receiver anyway! Hope I haven't shot myself in the foot wit too higher expectations, quoting all those "heavy hitters". However plans have changed quite a bit over the months, hence the 3 scopes and 2 1/2 counters in the first pic. -

Pretty sure you have that title Aaron. Unfortunately you're not on the list much cause there's no way possible to copy any of your achievements Btw -are those photos upside down? They were fine on the laptop, but 2 of them are upside down on my iPad -
Well, after reading all the great E-11 builds over the past months or so, it's about time to start mine. I always had a plan to build a Doopy Doo kit after I finished my Hasbro conversion. Then I saw Steve's (Gazmosis) build with the real folding stock and thought "I must have that". So publicly now, I thank him tremendously in helping me get that too Australia. I'm sure most people know how hard it is to get firearms into Australia! So, after getting the folding stock in my little hands I thought I couldn't stop there..... Anyway, more of that will come over the next few pages. IĆ¢ā¬ā¢ll take this opportunity now to thank the many E-11 builders and critics that have posted comments, suggestions and ideas to help us all learn and strive for the blaster we want! And to those many people that I have blatantly copied, please take that as a complement to your great skills J. I actually decided on a DVH kit, instead of a Doopy, mainly for the inner bolt assembly. This feature I really wanted and I think looked a lot better on a DVH. This kit is, I guess, a DVH v2.0, the last before they went to the hands of Dday. I bought this kit quite some time ago, and have been accumulating bits and pieces and putting them in a box. Opening them up again after I moved house a few weeks back was like Christmas again! So, without further ado, some pics: There it all is. Pretty much everything I'm accumulated for it over the last 6 months. About the only thing I think I'm missing (for now) is the inner barrell and Hengstler bracket. As I mentioned about copying others, here's my reference to everyones threads about different parts of thebuilds. Step 1 - The receiver. To get my 18 inches, I had to buy 13ft of 40mm Electrical Conduit Could do with a bigger car Will be using Aaron's excellent templates. I originally bought a metal leg/pipe from Ikea, but thought the wall thickness was too thin to support pins for all the components to stick on to. Also the thicker wall thickness makes a perfect inner diameter for the inner bolt on the DVH kit. More on that when I tackle the bolt. Template glued on and starting to drill. Started with smaller bits, worked up to the larger diameter. First step. Second Cleaned up the rubbish on the inside with a bit of sandpaper wrapped round a broom handle. Hmmm, I didn't take a finished photo.... Will come back to that. As mentioned earlier, appreciate all the critics with any comments and suggestions. Stay tuned.

Much better off looking at one of the vetted seller here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ including Mark ^^ above. The moulded brow gives that ebay one away as one to stay away from.

Great shots Aaron. Looks kinda weird with no stand or background - like the guns not real or something....
-
Finished yet? Having a hollow resin scope available would be awesome!

DarkCMF and SIMpixels turned out great. SuperKav also had a slightly different take on the idea http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26522-doopy-scope-modification-real-lenses/

Just beat me to it. Wot he said ^^ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19398-howto-use-novus-plastic-polish-12-and-3-ah-ah-ah-i-love-counting/ I only had Number 2 and it worked real good, but Number 1 would be fine for general grubiness.

Great workmanship! Fantastic idea to have an inner sleeve to protect the paint on the bolt. Might try incorporate that into my upcoming build. Keep up the great work.

Thermal detonator: screws or rivets
I'm Batman replied to Bloodwalker's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Or do what I did - round head cross (phillips) drive. Putty up the cross and make my own single slot with a dremel. -
Coming along nicely..... Your left shoulder bell seems to be sticking up a bit. Maybe lowering your biceps a bit, or removing some return edge of the bells might help. What are you clamping onto the sniper plate?

Already a recipient of your excellent work Aaron. Public thank you posted here - Thank you! (Just have to build the sucker now) -
Looks fantastic Derrek. Nice close up shot showing the detail of the wrinkle finish on the Mag housing.

R4ZORB4DE'S ATA Build
I'm Batman replied to R4ZORBL4DE's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
There is no right and wrong when it comes to 'most' return edges. There's heaps of topics on it when you search, but the basic consensus is that's it up to the wearer if you want return edges or not on the limbs. Pros and Cons with both. Exception to the 'up to you' rule is the forearm and back/kidney/butt connections and the chest/ab piece. -
Wow, moving quick! Going great guns. Is that a pencil line where the 3 side ab buttons are? It actually looks like a mold line that perhaps should have been cut there.... Edit, hmmm, picture didn't copy across in the quote.

I wouldn't recommend one way or the other, but it went for the strapping/snaps/e6000 system purely because that the way most people seem to do it. Plenty of people do seem to do the wire brackets though. Others will have to chime in as to the practicality and longevity of that system though.... Make sure you join up to the garrison, at least their forums, straight away. Plenty of knowledge can be had by meeting locals, attending armor parties and hearing of any local best practices.

Houston Dynamo(MLS) troop 10/12/14- MY FIRST TROOP
I'm Batman replied to fuumantroop's topic in Field Training Exercises
Great job! What's this trooper doing? Taking a leak against the concrete wall? LOL -
Welcome John. What part of this wide brown land do you hail from? The MTK kit is a great choice (not that you can do much about it now anyway, LOL). It goes together quite well, although I did give a few parts a dip in the hot tub - shins, forearms, biceps. I got my E6000 from Trooperbay (Mike) when I ordered a few other things from him. With such a good looking kit, you may as well build to Centurion, as you say. It doesn't really take that much extra effort. Have you decided on your strapping system yet? Keep up the progress. Plenty of research, plenty of questions.....
