  1. Thanks Steve. Appreciate the words. Thanks Paul. That would certainly be something fantastic to do. And I'll definately take you up on that beer!
  2. I thought it was something to do with Geese or Sheep.
  3. No idea what that is. Pics?
  4. Well, I bought some of the above bits. Had to buy 'dremel' as no one here seems to sell cheaper brands other than huge multipacks, which don't have those bits anyway. And I should have an update with my one and possibly only original idea in the next couple of days. In the mean time, I'd better clean my little work table! Space is still a bit restricted after moving recently.
  5. What Rick says ^^. It's hard to see from those couple of photos how high up the chest is against your neck, but as we can't see it here, it suggests there is probably room to lower it. No problem for basic approval, but if you plan for EIB/Centurion, you'll need to have a look at those side seams. Get the tops lining up a bit flusher. Looking good!
  6. Any progress Sam?
  7. Hey Dustin. Getting them on photobucket is the hard part. Check this thread for some info. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/5-howto-post-images-on-the-forums/ I do it a little differently, however, Once you're viewing the image in your Library, I left click the IMG box. It flashes up "copied", then I right click, paste into the thread I'm replying to. It inserts the URL. Done.
  8. Yes you are . Are you using photobucket or something like that? That's the easiest way. It might also be beneficial to try to take some clearer photos too. It's a bit hard to see any detail there which will reduce any feedback (positive, of constructive) that we could offer.
  9. I can't remember, but i read a thread recently where someone had cut, then extended the ab/cod piece as he was tall too just to get it to the right dimensions. You may need to do the same. MTK fits me great at 5'7" or so, and I notice Toybiz (recent EIB recipient, is 5'8"). Not sure exactly what MTK armor is recommended for, heightwise... Although looking again, 2thin was 5'10" and appeared to have plenty of spare overlap, so maybe you need to double check your shoulder straps - lower the chest, or hike that cod up a little more.
  10. Thanks Alex, Andrew and Adam. Hmmm, AAA Ć¢ā‚¬ā€¹ ! It is quite flexible Adam. The idea of those back supports is to have them loose when you're walking around, then pull them up tight (the whole belt is velcro) when you need to bend or lift. I have it sitting quite snug - not so it flaps around under the armor, but not so it's too tight that causes tension. And with the shoulder straps, it can't fall down. First 2 troops have been great. Troop 1 - had troubles with the calf closures. Ended up swapping out for Velcro. I just couldn't get the hooks right. Too tight, I couldn't get them on or off. Too loose and they kept coming undone. Troop 2 - no problems whatsoever, no loose bits, no bites, really comfy. Not quite "sit down comfy", as comfy as TK armor can be I think. I am pleased I re-did the bicep and forearms. Looks so much better. Thanks.
  11. Coming along nicely. Another observation is that it appears that your biceps might be too big. The cover strip of your left bicep appears to be inline with your actual arm, resulting in a lot of overhang. Read just about all of our MTK builds and its a common problem. You've got a lot of return edge on most pieces, which make the armor look nice and thick and bulky, but by reducing them allows the armor to fit your body more snuggly - and minimises any armor 'bite'.
  12. Thanks mate. Glad to finally join the ranks.
  13. TK11409 requesting access. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=17443 Thank you kindly.
  14. A quick wrap up of this thread to say, TK11409 reporting for duty! Well, I've already had 2 troops unapproved, but I can be official now Thanks for everyone's tips and advice during the build.
  15. Auto stores would probably have it too.
  16. If that is the paper you're using, it is regular timber type paper. Look for the black/grey coloured wet 'n' dry.
  17. I would have thought most (decent) hardware stores should have similar to 400-600-800-1000. You would possibly then need to try a hobby/craft store for finer than 1000. I didn't read back through your earlier posts, but make sure you're using wet'n'dry paper. The regular stuff is no good and may only go to 400 or so.
  18. A lot of work that you're doing a damn fine job with. So, why do you have those few real parts on the magazine housing? Were the cast Doopy versions really that terrible? Edit, sorry typo...
  19. Added bonus, you won't tear a hole in your rubber gloves due to sharp finger nails
  20. Another excellent tip from the man they call "Aaron". I might still be able to use that to gain a uniform edge on my magazine housing previously done by eye. Nice work. How's that armor coming along by the way?
  21. Post some pics up if you want more informed recommendations too.
  22. I had a bit of CA spillage too. Fine sandpaper, down to polish and it should not be noticeable (as long as it hasn't eaten into the armor too deep).
  23. You really should have read Steve's post above?
  24. Love the weathering job Tino, and the little bits to improve the overall look. I like the fact that your picking a balance between screen accuracy and as if it was real life issued by the Imperial - ie; perfect placement of straps, true colouring across the armor pieces, etc.
