1. Haha. I'm there! Currently building a Snowtrooper for that reason, although now that I'm 3/4 the way through the build, I realise it has a huge cod piece that may prevent that. Oh well.....
2. Brilliant! Fantastic effort Tino. Welcome to our wonderful world. You know you want to join that local garrison of yours

And hey, if you don't want to damage that superb armour of yours, there are one or two other costumes in the Star Wars universe you could build....
3. Great start!
4. Awesome! Now can you go and fix your blaster and armour build threads Beautiful, clean build. Not sure if it will be an EIB issue or not, but was there any reason you affixed one side of your thigh ammo belt above the ridge?
5. Yeah, no idea locally for you. Our local Customs and Police websites have the appropriate info here. If I was a betting man, I would bet Vern is right, it would just be nice to have the exact wording from the authorities tucked away in your file for future reference.
6. I'm sure Vern and others know their stuff, but do your own research with the appropriate authorities as well. When it comes down the crunch, ".... um, Officer, but Vern told me it was ok", ain't gonna cut it
7. Looks great TC
8. Liquid Wrench - Sounds like a form of WD-40? Have you tried from both directions. Just checked mine - they are pretty beat up now, so not sure but they may only come in/out one way.
9. Blasters aren't required for 501st approval
10. Yeah, the CRL used to stipulate specific measurements similar to what Q posted above (or was at least spoken of a lot - I remember seeing 10/13 going around a lot), then they changed it in the last 12 months or so to just 45 degrees. 12/12 would be a good start, but could be adjusted slightly to look better against the belt.
11. Gazmosis, DarkCMF and I all did our folding stocks different ways. There's probably another few ways of doing it too
12. If he has bought armor and charged you a building fee, then possibly fair enough. If he is buying and selling for a profit, then probably not. Will be interesting to see what Tim has to say - he's a member here (same user name as that email address, so I assume the same guy @7w1n9m4n7) So, who was the maker of the armor? If it is decent armor, then $725- you're still not that bad off. If it is rubbish armor, then that is the reason we tell people to stay away from ebay/facebook, etc. Look to the trusted sellers listed here.
13. In summary - yes. It's fine to buy a pre-built kit. RS Propmasters you mention offer completely built kits, as possibly others do. Ditch those first two you mentioned though. There are also people who do commission builds on your kit. Also, second hand costumes come up every so often aswell. Check the for sale threads regularly. I'd also sign up to your local Garrison, you might see some deals there too. Remember though - an approved kit that someone else wore does not mean it will be approved on you. It has to fit right! On another note, check out the 100s of build threads here. I don't think anyone has messed up that bad that they're destroyed their kit. It's not that bad once you get going.
14. Yeah, having the "Interior Strapping" photo as per the checklist might have helped there. I assumed they were shims too... The DO's will need that, but as your blaster does not qualify you as you know (without mods), they possible won't worry about it anyway. If they do follow through with an assessment, it will be interesting to see their take on rounded belt corners. Never see that before. (waiting for a flood of pics now )
15. Welcome to the FISD! Looks to be possibly a Hyperfirm, is it? "rubber' with a very gold scope. That normally gives it away. If so, yes definitely. But also remember, weapons aren't required for base approval - only EIB and Centurion.
16. What he said ^^ Now you need the armour to match!
17. Plenty have recently. Mine, Gazmosis, DarkCMF, just to name a few. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32111-fisd-e-11-blaster-reference/#entry414352 I think others troop with theirs. Mine also has aluminium pipe, real scope, a few other bits so is waaaay too heavy to troop with.
18. Incredible work. I like the angled position as you have them.
19. Odd that you would say you "need" the photo. Hopefully you won't hold up his application for something that's not required?
20. You do realise the ab rivet is not required until Centurion?
21. You can also check out Marv's T-track as seen in my blaster build. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16395-t-track/ Debatable as to being quite as accurate (we won't go there again ), but still pretty good!
22. Haha, no worries. Check out that big bright blue and yellow link in my signature for some pretty decent info
23. The Doopy kit is known to have a, well, average magazine. You can do your own mods to it, but one of the best bang for your buck upgrades is Steve's resin magazine. See below thread. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26677-doopy-dos-replacement-e-11-magazine-ongoing-run/page-1
24. Wow. Way beyond my patience or skill levels. Great job! They do look like they're sitting high (not saying that they actually are though). They'll probably blend in more once they got some paint on them and not so bling bling.
25. The black pictures were just an offset of resin from the kit. Not sure if the doopy has any extra material you can use? The green pictures below that is just a blob of green stuff shaped similar, then filed and sanded down. An earlier attempt of mine, I used small strips of styrene. A few options there for you...
