  1. Thanks! I got the AP holster and gloves too but the gloves ended up being too small and I didn't think of cutting the loops on the holster so ended up getting holster from Trooperbay too. Haven't been disappointed with anything from them. Good luck with your TK....if you have any questions or need help, feel free to shoot me a PM. Maybe sometime down the road we'll meet up at a troop in Ohio...post some pics of your TK too!
  2. Thanks! It's been a lot of fun building it

  4. Great pics! Thanks for sharing.
  5. Looks like its coming along nicely!
  6. Way to think outside the box...continuing to watch to see the final build!
  7. So the wires are really a personal preference? Won't affect my going for EIB? Thanks for the tip the wires shouldn't be overwhelming....I really don't want them to be.
  8. Also a user of Echo's fans and love them!
  9. I've been debating whether to add wires to the cylinders on my E11 and leaning towards doing it to give it better detailing look. Can anyone tell me if they've done it and what they used?
  10. Use the heat gun! I used heat gun after applying the paste, still worked out fine.
  11. All the work you do will be worth it on your first time out! Good luck!
  12. Did my first troop this morning for children's tumor foundation and what an awesome experience! Couple kids who were too much but that expected. But seeing smiles on peoples faces and kids faces is priceless. It's something I'll never forget....
  13. Gotcha! Thanks for the tip
  14. Sorry if it's a dumb question but what do you mean finishing strips? I know about the shims to cover the joints...
  15. Awesome memories! Thanks for sharing!
  16. It's a personal preference. It's easier for me to put the boots, shins and then the thighs on.
  17. Congrats on your new armor and good luck with the build. It's a great feeling building it. I can't really help you with your first question. I used some snaps I picked up at Hobby Lobby....Your number 2 question, I don't think it'd be a problem with using elastics like you mentioned. The most important thing is the outside look of the armor. If you go for EIB and/or Centurion, then the gap between your ab and kidney plate will come into play. #3, I used testors flat black paint. I used light greay primer first and then applied the black paint and it came out fine... The guys who've been doing this longer will give you more probably but hope that helps some...
  18. I'm expecting the ones were kids aren't behaving and stuff to happen, but I expect the awesome ones to happen more. No way am I going to let any bad troop outings stop me! Also expect to need to make adjustments, I've seen a lot of people mention that in their build threads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That looks awesome Simon!
  20. I wondered if I would be smiling under the helmet too LOL. Figured I'd keep count. I'll let you know how many times I count.... Thanks for sharing everyone....keep the stories coming
  21. I will being doing my first troop June 21st...I'm excited while still a little nervous..I'm interested in hearing what your first time was like...
