  1. Congratulations on completing this truly exceptional E-11 blaster, Jesse. Following your journey from day one, I can confirm that I have never before seen anybody making such a blaster with more effort than you. Of course this was meant in a positive way. No challenge was too big for you, no way was too far. As for the build time, yeah, maybe you should get a fun-award for the longest build duration. Just kidding. Thanks for the great final photos to drool over and also for your contribution to the Blaster Reference during this build. I look forward to seeing this blaster accompanied with a nice suit of TK armor. Maybe that will be your task for the next 2.5 years.
  2. Yes, the resin is white enough when it is new. But this material tends to yellowing as time goes by. My TM armor is 6 years old and since about 2 or 3 years I am watching this slow process. Bot a big issue at all, just mentioning. If you want the inside of the mic tips to stay white forever, they should be painted before the grid gets installed.
  3. Hi Andrea, welcome to FISD and the Legion. Enjoy your armor and have fun when trooping.
  4. Impressive, most impressive. Oh, and welcome to the FISD, Chris. Looking forward to see one of these in a build thread here...
  5. Not sure if I got that right, but in case you should change your mind, I can help you much more on a classic TK, than a R1 TK. Not pushing you, just offering help. I guess there must be a reason why the ANH Stunts are the most preferred type of TK all over the world.
  6. Don't let that bring you down, Andreas. A few years ago, I was in the exact same situation. It will start getting easier, once you are familiar with all the specific terms, being used here and for your type of costume. Another help might be an (online) translator. Helped me a lot and I am still using it almost daily. If that does not work for you, there also is a section of FISD in German language. However, in case you feel overwhelmed and think about stopping your activities, I would suggest to register on the forum of the German Garrison instead. Just be aware, there are not many R1 TKs out there and for specific questions you might be asked to head to the FISD again.
  7. Hello Jose and welcome to the FISD. While waiting for your armor to arrive, you could start a blaster build - in case you already haven't got one. If you run into any questions, just let us know and we will try to help. Good luck with your Stormtrooper journey.
  8. Hello Wayne and welcome to the FISD family. Erm, you can't decide between ANH Stormtrooper and whaaaaat????? Okay, Stormtrooper then. Next step: ANH Stunt or ANH Hero?
  9. Hi Andreas and welcome here. I see you are located in NRW (me too), so in the end you will join the same squad (White Shadows Squad). I am one of two Attachés this squad has, so if you run into any questions, feel free to contact me via PM here. In case your BBB day is still far away, you might want to use the time to build a blaster...?! Looking forward to your build thread and trooping together in the future.
  10. Welcome to the FISD and congratulations on your order. For going the ANH Stunt way, RS is one of the best choices. You might have to do minor adjustments, so once you received your BBB (big brown box), don't forget to start a build thread with some photos of you, wearing the armor. This will help us to help you. In the meantime, you could get in contact with your local Garrison. Enjoy your Stormtrooper journey.
  11. Wow! You're a lucky man. Oh, and great progress. These photos bring back memories of modding my ANH Sandtrooper helmet. Was such fun. Hope you will enjoy your build, too.
  12. Welcome to the FISD family, Nathan. Glad you found the way before purchasing something wrong. Any more questions, just let us know here. And when the time has come, don't forget to start a build thread. Good luck with your Stormtrooper journey.
  13. Great story, great photo. Welcome to the Legion, Fredrik.
  14. It absolutely does! Still great work so far.
  15. The armor in the lower right corner looks like it was taken straight from the Lucasfilm archives and carefully placed there to give us nerds some goosebumps.
  16. Congratulations on this Stormtrooper kit, Dixon. In my opinion, the best one you can get. Good choice. Don't worry about being skinny, indeed that is an advantage if you aim to look screen-accurate when wearing your OT TK armor. Feel free to start a build thread once you received your BBB (big brown box) and we will help you with your build. In the meantime, ask any question you have.
  17. The Star Wars Dog Bone ???
  18. Having seen the movie 10 hours ago, I think J.J. Abrams brought the Skywalker saga to a dignified end.
  19. That last photo reminds me of something. I really enjoyed following this build right from the start and can't wait to see you add the missing items to complete this crazy detailed beauty. Do you really plan to troop with this blaster? Do do we get another thread soon with a separate build for that?
  20. Welcome to the Legion Trooper and have fun out there.
  21. Hi Caleb. Wow, what an awesome thread so far. Your statement of being a perfectionist, is clearly visible in every post. I really like that and being so will help you in this hobby. The lenses from such a monocular are indeed a very good source. Over the last few years they have successfully been used in countless resin-scopes, so there is no need to search for anything else. Okay, simply gluing them onto a rubber-scope won't work, but you bought a Dremel and can hollow a recess for them to sit in. Just keep in mind, transparent lenses will always show what is behind them, no matter if glue or grinding marks. Therefore I would suggest to give it a try and hollow that rubber scope from both ends. On the bigger side you could then even install the lens-carrier with retainer ring. See here and here for inspiration.
  22. Thanks for putting this together, Caleb. Your photos will help troopers to now compare 3 types of rubber blasters. I never had one of these in hands, but thanks to all the photos, I already know which I would go for, if I ever had to choose.
  23. Hello Adam. Congratulations on completing your armor build. Photos do look great. For your first troop you might find this thread helpful. Stay hydrated and have fun.
  24. After seeing this blaster in person just a few hours ago, I have to say that it is very well done - not only the installed electronics, but also the details and the paint job. My favorite mod is how the magazine slides in and connects the battery with the electrical pins inside the blaster. Works like a charm and literally brings the power cell into the blaster. Great job done Dave and see you again soon...
  25. Man, what an update! Okay, you had more than 8 months to come around with this. No seriously, great to have you back, Jesse. And I am really glad to hear, your hiatus was 'just' life getting busy, but not because of any serious issues. Looking forward to your next steps and to finally see this blaster completed...
