Nice and neat armour yes the ab button detail is upside down. Other than that you're good to go EIB and Centurion even. And you might be asked to add a charging handle to the blaster as Matt has already mentioned I think the overlaps of the ab plate and kidney plate are fine Trooper of the left seems to have some overlap. So does the 2nd trooper from the left. EDIT: Ah I see they were talking about the back plate overlapping the kidney plate. Please ignore what I said above as I was talking about the Ab and kidney overlap...

TK-2135 Requesting [ANH] EIB Status (BFA)
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to rapstertee's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Not sure if I'm seeing correctly. There seems to be a gap on the trooper second from right. And it's too dark to be a shadow either. -
Haha Diana....you asked for it! There are more but I can't be bothered to post them all! XD Also look out for the "move-along" trooper. You can see the sun shining through the right ear gap! This is not an incentive to be careless when trimming the ears. Always aim for the best you can, and if there are still gaps, take comfort that it's scree accurate! Almost makes you want gaps now right? LOL

Pauldron colors = rank?
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to TK-9805's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I wouldn't class Star Wars Assault Team as canon and reference material for Stormtroopers. Nevertheless It's an addictive card game. And I wish I didn't have to wait so long to refresh the energy bar. -
As usual I love reading your cheerfulness in your posts Thanks for sharing what Rob has to say about the ears. I've met Rob in person twice and I still haven't asked him about how he does the ears. Anyways I think the gaps look fine; unless you want that seem-less look. I can grab screen shots that show plenty gap space on the ears. So if you want to leave it the way it is, you can take comfort in the fact that you are screen accurate LOL! All the best on your RS helmet build. I for one love the wonkiness on the RS lid.

Your experiences with 2mm and troops
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to ehmy's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Armour cracks happen. It's heartbreaking but it happens. They can happen anywhere depending on how the armour is trimmed. Common areas are the chest plate sides, belts and butt plates. Cracks can be sealed with some ABS paste behind the return edge and if you want it extra secure cut some small scrap plastic to reinforce it further. Trooping wise: think safety. You don't want to trip, hurt yourself (or the armour) and you don't want to hurt anyone. If you're in an area with many kids you would want to keep your blaster above your waist as leaving it down might result in the blaster hitting the head of a child. As I'm pretty sure you know by now that it's hard to see below your waist with the helmet on. Always look and plan where you want to walk before moving and while walking look slightly ahead on the ground so you won't trip over anything or walk into any holes. Never troop without a spotter/minder/helper with you. They are your eyes and ears. During your trooping moments your spotter has the final say. Remember the spotter is in your best interests. And as always, HAVE FUN! Your first troop is always memorable. Good luck trooper! -
PVC paste.....is it possible?
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to gazmosis's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Works like a charm mate! It melds and becomes one with the PVC so to say...haha! -
Here's your order. 1 pic on the belt supersized! As seen in the pic above, a slight armour overlap looks fine in my opinion. Your belt corners look fine to me if you wanna follow this picture . And as we always say, all these are just suggestions. But don't make ANY changes until the DO (Gaz) tells you to do so. Because Gaz is the one who'll make the final decision on the application

PVC paste.....is it possible?
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to gazmosis's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I asked that question before but from the feedback they said acetone only makes PVC soft but unlike ABS which makes it runny and watery. I DO use ABS paste on my RS PVC though to fill up cracks and holes. I just paint it white (since ABS is a little more off white than PVC) after and you hardly notice the difference! -
Me too. Wished they showed more but from the looks of it I'll either need to get an Xbox or upgrade my pc just for this game!. I don't mind them taking their time. But it better be good

Who sculpted Hero faceplate
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to Holnave (evan_loh)'s topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Good point. I brought this topic up because I was wondering if there was any conclusive story on the Hero faceplate. Just wasn't sure if the topic has been brought up in the past before. -
So... armor acquired, now what? :D
Holnave (evan_loh) replied to Luisiana Jones's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
No worries we all felt that anxiety when getting our armours for the first time. First off if you need to trim the armour to fit you get a curved scissors for plastic like this: The scissors are amazing for cutting the curved areas. Also get an X-Acto knife and they help with cutting cover strips. Next choose your strapping method for holding the armour pieces together (original or snap). Look at the Centurion application threads and you'll see plenty of strapping styles. Before making any changes or trimmings to your armour refer to as many of these Reference Images as possible to get the best and accurate look as this will reduce making mistakes you can't undo. Make sure you know what style you're going for. As you have AP kit I'm guessing it's either A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back style. Look for the appropriate reference images. Plenty of research won't hurt at all. Even today I'm still learning new things. As for glues most first timers prefer using E-6000. Get a large tube of this. They set slow and take 24 hours to harden so if you make a mistake you can undo it. Best advice is to take your time. You've invested good money in it and best way to handle it is to invest good time. You don't want to rush as you might make errors. I wish you all the best and feel free to pop any questions in these forums. Don't feel afraid to ask a silly question. There are no silly questions
