You shins are extremely large at the front joint. Do you really need that much extra room to fit your legs? Basically, the front flat sections on both halves of the shin should measure 10mm. And then a 20mm cover stripes is glued over these flat sections to secure the two pieces together. On yours it looks like you have around 10mm of excess on each of these flat sections.

Annoying holster...
The5thHorseman replied to Tolo's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Looks like your thigh gets in the way for the blaster to properly sit along your side. Maybe try to move the holster towards the back on the belt? You have not the same waist circumference than standard troopers on the film, so having riveted the holster that close to the ammo belt might be the issue for you -
One thing you could improve for a future build would be to glue the "D-ring housing" lower on the "rear cap": Apart from that, it's looking pretty darn nice! And great job on your hengstler, it works really well.

I know, i know, i'm quoting myself... what an egomaniac. So, how wide are your front ridges on the two halves of your forearm so far? They should be around 15mm: -

AP vs RS Prop for EIB/Centurion
The5thHorseman replied to CEGrant's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Actually, it's been quite a while since i've seen an AP built with overlapping. And as Ben says, Mark from AP supplies enough ABS stripes within his kit to make all the cover stripes needed for a full butt-joint build. Sorry but you'll have to rely on something else to make your choice between AP and RS . -
Looks good. Gaps like that are common at the back of the ears, don't be too obsessed.

Untrue. Completely.

ATA Armor Build_My First TK
The5thHorseman replied to russellr2d2's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Sounds right. About the shins, you don't really want any return edges at the bottom of them or they will wear out your boots really fast. And about the thighs, I would recommand you to stick with 25mm cover stripes EVEN IF the molded raised sections of the thighs are 30mm wide across once fitted to your body. Basically you are allowed to widen the cover stripes only to cover an actual gap between the two lips of the thigh halves, like on the diagram below: Going with 30mm cover stripes could hinder you Centurion application. AM 2.0 EIB?
The5thHorseman replied to 71CobraTrooper's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
The holster needs four rivets instead of two, that's all. Even the hero belt stuff is optional -
Looking pretty good Steven. Good luck! One little suggestion you could do to improve your TD would be to cut off the excess you have on your clips, keep the new angles square, and then reposition the panel downward to cover that hole and be more accuratly placed. I don't know what's the purpose of this hole but if it's to ease the sliding of the end caps, then you can make a new one positioned more at the back of the TD, where it won't be visible. Original:

Insidi0us1's First Build (ATA TK armor)

I think most who don't use the score&snap method use Lexan Scissors. Amazon has a set with both straight and curved but you might be able to find them locally too. http://www.amazon.com/Dynamite-Body-Scissors-Curved-Straight/dp/B0006O4Z6A/ -
1. There should be no space between the bottom of the ammo belt and the top of the drop boxes. 2. Yes it will pass. 3. Yes, as long as the snaps aren't visible from the outside (once the ammo belt is snapped to the ab plate).

A crazy question, but I gotta ask...
The5thHorseman replied to justjoseph63's topic in BlasTech DLT-19
You can try "Ash" here on the FISD. He's based on Spain and i don't know how much he's charging for one but that's another option to test: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28960-dlt19-by-ash/ -

The5thHorseman replied to Arnie_DK's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This guy's a maniac... He butchered his wife's arms and legs to finish the build!! Seriously, it's looking good. I hope your Comic-style Backplate will do the job though, it looks nice but i noticed you haven't used the same pattern that KW used. What's the consensus about the backplate, does it have to be one specific way or just comic-style? -
Finished My Armor, Small Issues!
The5thHorseman replied to Lukeskyrunner3's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Looks strongly like a RS recast to me, so yes in a way you can say it's molded from the original. Overall it looks quite nice, congrats . I think the points that could be improved is the strapping (if any) between the biceps and forearms. Basically, the bottom of the biceps should be touching the top of the forearms and thus having no gap between the two pieces. ------- You can also drop a little the biceps from under the shoulder bells to help close the elbow gaps. Right now they seem to sit too high. It's normal to have difficulties taking the stairs in the stormtrooper armor though resizing the top of the thighs might ease the thing. From the back shot you seem to have a lot of room here. For the shins, you can use velcro or the original hook system to close them. Here's a picture of the hook system: -------- Lastly, the rivets for the ammo pack on the right thigh are mislocated. They should have been set in the top corner like that: If you correct all these things, i think the armor will look even nicer. -
There's no particular width to follow, just have a look at originals and try to match them . ------------ ---------- You can click the pictures to access high-res versions of them .

TK-88118 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [AP][441]
The5thHorseman replied to HansDC's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Though it might not be relevant with your EIB application, the offset between the top of your abdominal and kydney plates is what i find the most bothering. I'm 5'11' tall like you and i don't have that problem, and you should neither. The issue comes from your left side rivets placement which is mostly wrong. Here's a thread about how to properly place them: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26886-split-rivet-placement/ And a diagram i made to show you: And if you could indeed drop down those biceps from under the shoulder bells in order to close the elbow gaps that you currently have, it would be a very good thing . -
Blaster looks very good! The scope rail is on the thick side but that's all, everything else is great.

Did you align the top of the kydney plate with the top of the abdominal plate? Because it seems not and that would explain why you have such a gap between your back and kydney plates.
