  1. You wrote Split rivets for the belt, but i believe you meant CAP rivets. You better watch that typo!
  2. Actually, take a look at all A. Kurosawa's films while your at it. He's a genius! And it seems we're going to have Snowtroopers with pauldrons...
  3. Who can argue with screenshots taken directly from the film anyway? If you don't like the holster i'm certainly not the one who will fight you trying to impose it. However the reason why is interesting. I think maybe the ones missing the holster might just have tried to holster their so heavy e-11 and got the thing ripped off. When you look at some belt (especially the belt of the Hero Stormtrooper talking to the two crew guys before the Falcon) you can see former rivets holes meaning the holster had to be refastened to the belt. And damn, i'm really impressed to hear your a tameshigiri champion... Trained by the teacher of S. Seagal... Hats off!
  4. Chambara movies are like my favorite movies at the moment! Are your really a tameshigiri champion? Must be awesome! You definitely should defend and keep that title.
  7. My bad sorry. You see so many times people making that mistake that i assumed you were.
  8. Beautiful work Simon. Thighs armor have always been ones of my favorite parts of the whole armor and yours look wonderful! Nice technique but you used the wrong rivets. Simon did use the correct rivets for the thighs though which are CAP rivets, and they don't get secured the same way than split rivets do.
  9. I've used only milliput for my blaster build (the filfthy Terracotta Milliput by the way) and it's a two parts epoxy that works just like Green Stuff. It's holding very well and will do the job.
  10. Just spent the last 20 minutes reading the whole thread, and that's what i call a heck of an interesting read! It's just showing the correct way everyone should be building his armor: with reference pics. As soon as i'm done with my current costume in progress i gotta buy me one of those TM goodness. Nothing's better.
  12. The muzzle is definitely mirrored on this blaster compared to the original Sterling L2A3. Nice to see that people are starting to notice it!
  13. Nicely done, good luck with your application! One thing you could do while waiting, would be to bend those shoulder bridges at the back. One minute in boiling water is enough to soften them enough to do that and has practically no chance of warping. Also your chest plate sits a bit low on you, the nipple line should be around mid-shoulder bells. I know it's not that easy to modify but that would nicely improve your overall look .
  14. Could be as he made the TFA for them. However you won't change my mind that there's a very strong RS lineage showing through from the pics they showed of their prototype.
  15. Their prototype armor doesn't look at all like the TM/C. I don't think their working with Mon Cal on that one.
  16. Look at the picture above, you can see on their mold and the faceplate pull that details are there.
  17. That's some very good dancing down there!
  18. Very nice work with the trigger guard! Will you weld it in position or will you screw it on?
  19. Your pencil line is the way to go. You can start cutting!
  20. About the cover stripes, i don't see it mentionned but one thing i like to do before gluing them is to cut the corners: And for the butt plat, i think i would have removed all the flat section and place the two snaps accordingly. If the guy you're building this armor for isn't that large, that would certainly have been enough:
  21. It has indeed a better difinition but incorporating it to the chest plate will require quite some work! Good luck.
  22. Yeah, it doesn't look like it but the stormtrooper armor is very well designed !
  23. Finish to size and to glue the forearm together before thinking about shortening its length. The iner half has a deep curve at the top specifically to allow you to bend the arm. And if you really can't bend your arm once glued together, deepening the curve on top of the inner half is often enough to solve that problem.
  24. Here's a good contender for the belt:------------ About the clasp greeblie, i haven't heard of anything about a possible identified "found part". Best sculpt your own or 3D design it as of now.
  25. Now that's always a tough question. Have you tried determining if one of the edge lines better with the top of the butt plate than the other?
