  1. Instead of fitting the armor to you I'd suggest the opposite, fitting yourself to the armor. I'm not saying you should start putting on a lot of weight, but instead fill the inside of the armor with foam until it gets snug. Or at least a combination of both: foam & reshaping. I'm saying that because in my opinion, too thin stormtroopers look sorta wrong. Also keep in mind that some overlapping on the sides happened for some of the extras in the stomtrooper armors during ANH (thought I had a better picture but that's the best I found): Flexy chest plate by the way, huh?
  2. By the way, here's the ANOVOS unpainted FO armor they showed at San Diego Comic Con, and you should receive when ordering this new armor (unassembled of course). ----------------------
  3. If it's the armor they showed at SDCC, you will also notice that they updated the thermal detonator, thigh greblie, and redesigned the way the kit is split to minimize the seams, and according to them, remove the need to paint the armor.
  4. Don't mix the apples with the oranges please. This helmet will probably be troopable... but for a Rogue One stormtrooper armor only. So until someone decides to make this armor, keep it for unofficial events. And like Tony says, even for these it would be better to ask your GML first to be sure.
  5. Indeed, super nice! What 3D tech did you use to print this blaster? SLA?
  6. Arm looks great. I wish all 501st stormtroopers had arm strapped like that!
  7. Wow, very impressive scratch build so far! Very good choice about the 36mm OD pipes that's pretty much what the original MGC are. Here are some more reference pictures for the magazine well area as I think this one could be improve a bit:
  8. They do and it's normal. That's because the barrel on this version of the screen-used blaster is plain instead of hollow.
  9. I say work it again. Many details are missing and the grips don't have the wavy profile they should.
  10. That's it! I think I managed to identify the part I was wondering about. This part is specific to blasters with a forward grip that doesn't unfold I guess.
  11. Wow, those are crazy renders. There's a lot to learn about how the parts of the original blasters interlock with each others! And to my great shame, there's even one part I'm completely unable to identify!
  12. If you want the brow to sit high like that, the faceplate needs to be angled that way. ------------
  13. There are some between KCP's and this one, but only because there is a lot of different screen-used blasters. For what it's worth and if you want a second opinion, I can assure you that Ken's blaster is absolutely identical to the version he is replicating.
  14. Vacuum forming over a plastic helmet is probably the worst idea I ever read in a while. First the heat will off course damage your "master". Second if you don't fill the inside of your "master", the vaccum will make it collapse on itself. Third, details will be very poor. And of course, it will still be recast.
  15. Holy sh...!! Got it. And I'm staggered by what I see! This is a huge overlooked detail by me that has a lot of repercussions... Thanks for the hint Ken.
  16. This is some good patternings right here! I know those textured grip patterns and you nailed them.
  17. So cool to have them cast in plastic instead of resin! Even though I won't be able to afford one, I'm really looking forward to see what you can come up with. This will be the difference between fans making garage stuff, and a professional in the industry making props for a living I guess.
  18. Because you think I'm happy when I realized they were too big? You really think I was aware of it from the beginning but said to myself: "well I don't care if they're too big, it's not for me after all"? This is so stupid... I thought it was obvious enough that if I had known of this issue I'd have it fixed first. I figured my error only becaus of the picture you posted. Also, when you order something on Shapeways, it's dimensions are given to you before ordering. So you can blame me, but you can also blame yourself as you could perfectly have done some work on your side and checked for scale first. Anyway. I can fixed the scale if you're so obsessed about it. Have them printed again, and sell back those ones to someone else doing a pipe build with a 38mm OD. Or... you can wait for someone to make a run of metal ROTJ greeblies while hoping that those greeblies will be accurate, and sized correctly.
  19. Well, between my version which is sligthly too big but has all correct details to it, and the other one from Toolguy you were about to buy which has a lot of inaccuracies (and we don't even know if scale is correct), I think you still made an affair. But go on. If you're not happy I mislead you, I'll let you cry for help for other to do your work as you seem very much unable to do anything yourself except laying your cash on the table, and I will stop trying to help you. Good luck. Edit: I forgot to state it, but if you think I made money out of you, you're wrong. My mark-up on this "sale" was 0%. In fact I don't even have a shop on Shapeways to earn money. What you paid is only what Shapeways is charging for the prints. I named the file "necklace" because if Shapeways had figured it was a component of a gun, they wouldn't have accepted to print it. So what you ordered is a file I uploaded on my private account for me, but that I opened to order for others only for you.
  20. Actually, I learned 3D Modelling not so long ago so I started with a frienly user software called "123D Design" by Autodesk. It's not very powerful and I often have to struggle with it, but pushing it to its limit is always challenging to me. Anyway. I don't want to derail your thread Ken. Let's focus on your F-11D blaster!
  21. I don't own one of the original MGC hammers used to create this greeblie. This thing is like super rare to get. I made my model out of the reference pictures available by guesstimating its size. Thing is, I was supposed to print these hammer in PLA (inexpensive) to check size first, and then have them printed in a better material. But I ended up having to pause this project to focus on other things, and I didnt' get them printed at all. But looking back at the picture, it might just be the way you positioned them on the MGC that make me feel they're slightly too big.
  22. Don't worry Ken. Don't go wasting too much time checking my model against yours. I have never pretended for perfection, and I don't have much time to spend again on this F-11D. I'm happy to see that you're taking up the lead like that. I know when I'm beat
  23. Hey don't worry! Nothing dramatic here. I just have the feeling they're maybe 1 or 2mm to big, and maybe it's just the picture. And even if they're indeed sligthly too big, it's not something many people would notice.
  24. It ain't looking the same after some polishing, huh?! I'm glad you took that decision. I think it's the right choice. However, I have the feeling those Hammers are a touch too big in size :/. My bad Dennis, sorry about that!
  25. I'm not a fan of this big blaster, but sure it's quite an impressive piece of weaponry to carry around! And nice job with the monopod. Would have been a shame if it had been left not functional.
