  1. And you wonder why your straps failed
  2. I read that CA glue holds Velcro better than anything but i've never tested it.
  3. Since i'm screen height but have an AM its taken about 2 months (if I had worked on it every day cutting and heat gunning it down to fit me perfectly) but I could probably get an ATA done in a week, if with enough clamps and all the snaps and stuff in possession. The e6000 cure time, lack of many clamps and magnets, and waiting for things to be delivered is where the bulk of the time comes from.
  4. The one I posted fits the pipe that came with dvh kits
  5. -----------
  6. And replace the elastic with webbing so it won't move
  7. I think you can do it yourself under account settings. I wanted to change mine to Dizzy but I couldn't cuz some lesser individual created one just for the sake of viewing threads. No posts, never logs on, there are hundreds of "null accounts" that need to be purged
  8. It IS movie accurate... Cuz its overrated and looks like crap
  9. Probably had to use it
  10. Well he has HORRIBLE choice of words! Bonus factoid, you can spot an rs by ugly shins.
  11. "costume" "rifle" "A local costuming group" Also the way the thigh tops are bending like styrene
  12. How did this thread derail into talking about ninja turtles? IMO we don't need sold threads after theyve been sold. Id volunteer to be the guy that scans through deleting threads that have been marked as sold
  13. I liked their early work. They came here but I didn't bother to see them, now As Venice Sinks, that's what I like now.
  14. Its also good for removing stickers and adhesive, which I wonder if it'll neutralize dried e6000... That'd make armor disassembly much easier..
  15. I left polyethylene (stuff model car kits are made of in a bowl of thinner and it melted like creamer in coffee in about an hour. I would assume hips would too but there shouldn't be any problems thinning paint. It'd have to be full strength to have any effect. Bonus factoid: you can use Everclear in many cleaning ways and I use it to catch a buzz while soaking my paint brushes in a glass of it
  16. I leave my bicep return edges on but the forearms just enough to be comfortable. Nothin over 1/4 inch except the elbow area so it won't jam into my elbow. It makes the gloves harder to put on but also doesn't shift around
  17. buying your armor built is like the teens that buy civics with motor swaps already. you did none of the work, it doesnt fit you right, and (insert satirical joke about "swag" here)... youll feel more accomplished and the armor will be more form fitting when you do it yourself.
  18. you dont need to go on set, just hang around bumming off the craft services table
  19. way to necropost guys.. in other news the walmart 2oz tube was enough for the whole build. needed to get another for just a few more snap plates.
  20. eggcrate foam from packaging/shipping boxes. you can also go to walmart and find rolled strips of good foam, i forgot what aisle but it said it was for air conditioning vents or seals or something.
  21. did you use backing washers? i bolted mine on with little nuts and washers so its still removable if need be
  22. General assembly or armor related things Id ask here, but when it's TX-specific, spec ops is the way to go. Do you not see the ugly seam on the front of the ones you posted? That's what makes them unapprovable. The bass' are slightly more triangular in shape than Chelseas but since boots are so limited these days they still pass for specialist. Don't skimp on the boot price. It's enough to want to save money on a cheap pair just to pass for basic approval but you'll want quality and comfort that comes with pricier kicks. keep in mind you'll be walking around for at least a few hours in them
  23. Both of you gotta stop posting the same threads on both boards like your going to get more information lol
  24. Sand it down with 400 grit, then 1000, then polish the area.
