  2. do you have a big head and are concerned with sizing? theres really not a big difference. a "regular" size TE derived bucket has plenty of room. my ata and capw helmets varied in size by MAYBE a half inch? you can always use thinner padding. get in contact with your garrison and ask to try helmets on jnnfr72's picture: RT left, AP right ---------------
  3. the guy from garland tx that sells recast fiberglass tk armor sold an iron man suit, they were both crap made in taiwan or something. i wouldn't trust any im suit unless you buy it from an rpf member or do it yourself. there's plenty of files, paper or foam, and its quite simple and more affordable.
  4. is moncals tk formed off AP bucks? also shame on you all still rocking FX buckets! SHAME!
  5. i got mine from gazmosis. it's not weaved so it doesn't come apart or anything. he said its for making mountains for model trains or something
  6. Also ammonia, for before you break out the steel wool. Spray it on and put some plastic wrap on it for ten mins. That's how you get bumper stickers and decals off your car.
  7. closer pic of blaster. i think theyre doing this AND the yet another kenner recolor. this one could be another nerf gun maybe? what i presume is vaders tie
  8. I'm digging the new blaster, but idk why the artwork has the outdated kenner still. but.. Folding stock!
  9. well regardless of the origin the guys still a hell of a sculpter and vac former. that cleaning up still took a lot of work, and the pulls are sharp. id still rock a set.
  10. For being cheap at Walmart it's surprisingly good!
  11. daaaaaaaaamn.....
  12. until either the maker admits it or someone with both suits in hand can do a detailed size comparison of the parts, i still refuse to believe NE is RS derived.
  13. glad to see this thread still helping people out. id also like to pointout the Bass Amsterdams run a bit large as well. you could squeeze 11-11.5 my 10.5's!
  14. You already saw! no need to act surprised lol
  15. new pics the "calling for reinforcements" pose from the game and i like the lighting in this one. bonus points if you figured out my mic tips are just marker caps.
  16. I remember seeing that. Seems legit
  17. The game models are s**t, especially anything other than the xbox version as those have the most real details. The designers took a tk and added a blue layer to the 2D texture which is why theres blue on the brow trim and when wrapped around the wireframe the stripe looks curved and uneven.
  18. grainy could also mean there wasnt enough paint on that area, the coat couldnt properly blend in with the last and itll do that, too much paint and itll run. heres how the rustoleum professional came out on the helmet, the armor is unpainted and both surfaces are not polished, and i dont use clearcoat. black is a lot harder to get right, so you dont have to be too OCD about the white. as long as you sand well and do light coats evenly around the parts you shouldnt have a problem.
  19. you cant use those paints together.for a base coat all you need is a LIGHT coat of basic primer, i use the cheapest kind from walmart (the blue cans on the bottom shelf usually) or krylon primer if i can find it, but its pretty rare as they have that dual stuff now. the ultra cover you used has an additive in it, i forget what it was, but it interferes with the enamel in the top coat. ive been using spraypaints for many many years, all kinds for cars to model kits to go cart bodies etc. wetsand it down with 400, apply a light coat of cheap primer, then top off with the rustoleum professional. its also important when you're shooting the professional, the stuff comes out fast, so do 3 light coats, waiting 5 mins between each coat. the dome is a bit more difficult since you have to keep turning it to ensure the whole thing is even. the wet coats blend into eachother which gives it the smooth shine. if its smooth and doesnt orange peel, let it dry for 5 days. i left mine in a cardboard box with a bunch of silica gel packets you get from shoe boxes etc. my scootch build here should help you out: http://forum.501stspecopsdet.net/index.php?/topic/2112-dizzys-cap-w-bucket-restoratation-and-build/
  20. thats why i asked. my shims are velcroed on so theres some space for the trim on the parts, maybe the shims could be painted satin black to blend in with the undersuit leaving the rest to appear accurate
  21. bonus tip: for SCUFFS (not scratches) a paper towel with a bit of rubbing alcohol works well against say, black marks made from storage tubs, the boot soles scuffing against something during transport, etc.
  22. most of the downsizing for our (under 6 foot) height is in the torso. mark hamill's chest was cut down a bit, id assume the ab and kidney tops were as well, tops of the thighs, bottom of shins. its just trial and error, you wont know what to trim until you put it on!
