  1. It bugs me to see peoples Velcro fail and split the shin backs open. I want to butt join the sides using this non Velcro type stuff with a cover strip over it. its not required to have screen accurate closing is it? As long as they appear closed?
  2. I'm planning on getting the ptt. I've just been testing placement in my apartment. I'd put the speaker in the back plate but it just sounds muffled in there. I wonder if taking it apart and gluing the speaker itself to the armor would make a difference. Maybe I need a different mic? There's just too much interference
  3. I gotta find which connections to connect the plug so I can plug in one off those Hasbro voice changer helmets into an amp.. You can't just wire it to the hasbro chip output speaker leads right?
  4. Lol.. Harrison forge.....
  5. Eastbay evapor or whatever its called. There's 2 top versions, a regular crew style and one with a turtle neck type deal. I got the latter so I don't have to wear a neck seal on troops. Also, order a size up on the pants. Also I have the starter top from Walmart, I like it, its comfortable, but they don't sell the pants.
  6. With the speaker in the chest, mic in helmet, and volume low I'll still get it, but I want to hear myself so I put the speaker lower like on the ab or on the belt, turn the volume up a bit and still get it. Its an older model aker amp. It seems the frequency finds its way through the armor no matter the distance/volume.
  7. that guy orders sh1t armor from the orient and sends it to you. they make crap iron man suits too
  8. I did find this from scootch though
  9. Id like some comparison shots of a screen accurate hero and stunt together, there's gotta be someone with both helmets. My stunt looks wide on me
  10. All the bumps, cracks, and non symmetricalness of screen armor drives me nuts! Its understandable its sculpted and rushed for filming, but I don't see why you'd want to look like "just stepped off the set". That armor sucks and was meant to be worn only a few times. We're better than that! We have thick durable materials that lasts years of trooping! Sure the FX/AM helmet wasn't great but that's why we have other bucket options, though I love the clean, even look of it and the armor. Its idealized as if stormtroopers were real. While its all personal preference, I like being held to high standards regardless of armor style. One does not simply walk in with a rubies.
  11. yeah youre vaders size alright.. i think the biggest armor made is RT-Mod, might want to look into that
  12. Get 100 line 24 snaps from ebay. Its usually around 30 bucks shipped.
  13. i like that you posted what tools you bought and where you got them, not many people do that anymore a heat gun has been my best friend, picked it up for 8 bucks at Harbor Freight. ive mostly used it for forearms and shins because afterall we dont all have the body of a 70's british guy in tights. the NE is for bigger people but all the more reason to get a heat gun
  14. Id suggest get a kit or already built one from here. If your really adamant on making your own, search for blueprints, they have the correct shape of the parts you need to fabricate
  15. You sir have to become a TX. We actually hit things
  16. using those old pep files eh? i have a glassed and resined ab plate with crotch, chest plate, and forearms ill sell if you want to do pulls off them. they arent bondo'd and the arms are not closed.

  20. If you havin ptt problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but.. No seriously talk to Jim, maybe you have a defective one.
  21. Its implied "don't buy from ebay" means "don't buy unassembled kits". There are fine people here that sell on ebay, including former members offloading old suits, you got one and at a great deal!
  22. Oh look, that garland Texas guy again. His stuff ships out of Asia, all he's doing is counting money.
  23. I don't mean to be a stormy cloud here, but why do you keep posting the same questions on multiple boards and pm's? We've already given you all the information you need to assemble. How about reading those links and tutorials buddy and assemble already. You're not going to get different answers from people and I already suggested you contact your garrison for local help. I don't understand why you don't listen and get started already
