Going on 9 years cold turkey of being finished. It is still hard. I still miss it. My goal was to be healthier and a better role model for my daughter and now son. When it gets tough I think about that and the desire fades fast. Good luck and congrats for making the decision to be done with it.

Darth Aloha's RT-MOD ANH Stunt Build[*RT]
Clamps replied to Darth Aloha's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I can't wait until he pulls a classic TK head-smack on that door. -
What was that you say? I couldn't be bothered to hear you, I was busy playing some Pinball and Donkey Kong in the Arcade: PS: Hybrid Mini Clamps says 'eat my Tatooine filled shorts!'

I don;t really think RT-Mod is the best kit for your size.. if you really wanted to keep it local, I think you could make AP work for you. I am 5'10.5" and almost 180 and I made it work with a little bit of shimming on my sides. Depending on where your weight is carried you may or may not need to do the same. That said, as it has been said above, ATA or MTK should work for your size. Finally, if you don;t mind spending a little more to go Top Shelf, then RS Props and TM is where you should go. Good luck with your choice.

While the TK we all think about and grew up with is the original TK. We all had to wait like 30+ years to look like a legit outta the movie Stormtrooper that amazed is in 1977. After Episode VII THAT Stormtrooper will be the one that millions of newer fans will begin to associate with. And how amazing it is going to be to be able to own and wear a kit within months or a year of it being seen for he first time. I'm excited as F-bomb to see the full TK and I fully intend to purchase a kit once there is a fully realized suit available to build. As for which detachment they belong to, it is here hands down. We have the Concept TK here followed by multiple movie iterations and a few "Legends" adaptations. This next one is just the next in line of the Stormtrooper character's evolution.

Canadian Garrison Roger Christian Induction (Holiday Party)
Clamps replied to Clamps's topic in Field Training Exercises
That was a full suit my friend. Someone had to class that joint up a little bit! Though perhaps the Star Wars Vans were a touch out of place with the suit... -
I'm Using 10.9.5 and all browsers (Safari 7.1, Chrome 39.0.2171.72 and FF 34.0) show both recipient lines for me.

Congrats trooper, I look forward to reading the troop report!

Canadian Garrison Roger Christian Induction (Holiday Party)
Clamps replied to Clamps's topic in Field Training Exercises
PS: your weirdo FISD XO was FaceTiming into the Holiday Party. Whatever he may tell you he saw is an absolute fabrication of the truth... so yeah NONE of that happened (well most of it anyway). -

During the Canadian Garrison's annual Holiday Party, we had the distinct pleasure of inducting Academy Award winner Roger Christian, A New Hope's set dresser and 2nd unit director , as an honorary member of the 501st Legion. He was joined by his lovely wife Lina and other family members. Myself and TK 9418 (Ken) were asked to kit up for the induction ceremony. When we were asked we didn't know what the exact reason, but how could we say no knowing that something awesome was gonna happen. During his remarks. He asked who the troopers were that attended his wedding as he really wanted to personally thank them. Both Ken and I raised our hands. Buckets came off and hand shakes ensued. Not to mention a few stories from the evening. Check Star Wars Insider issue 145 page 8 for the wedding announcement and couple of photos. Here are a couple photos of the induction from last night.

Best of luck Alex, I am sure you will the Garrison and your Squad proud with that kit.

I just kept it simple in my kit and attached a piece of spare elastic in the chest and clip it on. Ignore the magnets. His was take. 2+ years ago upon install. ---------- I'd like to hear more about the mandatory reasoning for voice amps though.

We had the honour and privilege of being invited to Toronto's Make a Wish Season of Wishes Party taking place at Dave and Busters. Along with Cinderella from "Enchanted Fairytales" we entertained the kids (of all ages) by posing for photos prior to their program for the evening. We also had took some time to do a photo op for the D&B folks that will help promote their new Star Wars Pod Game coming in February. I don;t know much about his yet, have not had time to research it. Not many photos found yet: Here is Phil (TB 18180) pointing out the 501st logo on the community partner board:

Where do you keep your keys and wallet ?
Clamps replied to Spycee's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
even if you feel it it only takes a split second for it to be gone unless you're handlers are extremely focused on your back, which is not always easy to do when you have multiple troopers and busy events. Best to secure close to your body if you feel compelled/ to carry with you. -
I have a single Squirrel fan, a mic that connects to my AKER amp (located in chest) and Skyminer's external audio system (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25695-environmental-audio-system-hear-outside-your-helmet/). The bucket you see in his first post is actually mine. Once I installed that, it was a trooping game changer. Being able to clearly hear in stereo what is happening around you is super helpful.

Joseph, if you mean that you want to acquire proper ROTJ armour, CFO is the way to go. You can find details on all of the preferred armours here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/

Where do you keep your keys and wallet ?
Clamps replied to Spycee's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
my wallet/keys and stuff stays in my bin and if we are not in a secure changing area, I lock the bin with a combination lock. -
my AP customer service experience was as good as you will find in the hobby. Nice price point, quality product & timely communications. Good luck with your final decision and build. clamps

you can likely lose those scratches with the use automotive wet sanding paper in the 1000-2000 grit range. should help you blend the edges a bit as well

I see it as a way to keep the membership more active here vs disappearing once their kits are approved.

I like what the Krayt Clan does. Individual goals get a profile icon level upgrade and then they have a detachment goal program that if met participants who troop over a certain number get a reward (patch).
