  6. Here's two very rough pic's the first follows ontop of the recess from around the lid. second pic follows from the centre of the eyes (not around the eye's) LOl to the rear of the lid call me old fashioned but I do prefer the classic asymetric design but good luck either way
  7. Yep 14 get's my vote too , I've used 48 in the past a couple of time's but found it to be a fraction too pale for my preference. Great comparision though, thanks for posting

  17. A fair point but that is more in the realm of IP theft = (intellectual property), Recasting is another topic on it's own although the two are inextricably connected
  18. In the interest's of Education & to furnish anyone new to the hobby with some collateral base information, who may read the thread before deciding which side of the fence they fall. Would some one firstly care to comprehensively outline what is meant by the term recast? inclusive & expanding on what it's Grey areas are? many thanks in advance
  19. I just used a bit that was fractionally wider than the screws I was using & then slightly countersunk with a 12mm bit to recess the screw heads a little. hope this helps

  22. I completly agree with you on all points ! I just wanted to try & say, "It's still a nice open forum" Threads like these do inform? & do assist in the education of Caveat emptor for all. I hope!
  23. Although I would'nt ever condone or buy something recast myself, dosn't an open forum like this give the oppertunity to educate us to all? to what exactly is out there on the open market, such as the CAP armor & several other's & also inform us of those who are engaging in this practice?

  25. I know nothing about the origin of it but the cap is very bumpy above the brow, reminds me of another make. just can't recall which of the top of my head. The lenses looked bubbled too? & whats the black stuff eminating from the leg seam's
