Registered. Not sure how often I'll post but with this costuming thing going from hobby to full blown addiction, can't hurt.

Doing my MRCE rebuild and I got a bit overeager with my drill and heat gun. I was looking to see if anyone had ears for a helmet lying around. Really I only need the antenna/rank portion (circular part on the MRCE), so it doesn't matter if other parts are damaged or bad pulls, etc.

CABoots are a good easy choice. I got mine fairly quick, but the service left a little to be desired. The smell isn't too bad, it just smells like rubber and glue. If you're like me and you keep them in your armor bin, everyone in the house will know whenever you are getting into that bin.

Did you buy it new and how much did it cost? I looked at one today at play it again sports. They don't seem thick enough or enough in the helmet for good coverage in the MRCE.
I bought a helmet at Dick's Sporting Goods. I think it was a Wilson brand for $20, the helmet liner was adjustable in the original batting helmet. It had it's own framework inside, pulled it all out and installed very easily with some ind. velcro.

Helmet looks great. Where was something like this months ago before I hit my MRCE with drills, dremels, and sand paper.
Oh well, I need the practice.
Did you say you were going to change out the tube stripes? If you are, it's really easy with a Magic Eraser, hot water and 5 minutes of light scrubbing.

Batting helmet is what I have in my FX, and I'll be using it in my MRCE when it is ready. It's comfy, lots of pieces so it's adjustable for different melons, cheap and super easy to install.

LOL that would be funny. He tried my TE2 helmet on and it wouldn't even get over the crown of his head.

Does the counter on the blaster look a little low? I thought it was supposed to be closer, on level, to the scope.

Sounds like you got things quite under control. What kind of problems are you having with the snaps?

TE2 and AP are quality kits. There are positive and negatives for all the different kits out there. With a bit of research on here, you should be able to figure out which would work better for you.

I'm in the same boat as you. My FX is actually a good fit, my MRCE is tight and I can't wear my glasses in it. I have a garrison mate who has the same problem with his bucket (AP, I think), it's actually difficult for him to get the helmet on and off.

I have an item that left canada on 2 Dec 2008. its obviously still in the sky - cos thats it, tracking says its left, no sight of arrival. Worlds longest flight.
Sounds like they strapped it to a swallow, or maybe a pair of swallows.
