Speaker in chest plate
Darth Voorhees replied to SolderMaster's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
i glued a horizontal strip of 1.5" elastic into my chestplate and i use the clip on the AKER and just slide it on. So its basically just strapped on. i can get a pic if you'd like. -
Darth Voorhees' TE2 build
Darth Voorhees replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
*TD high 5 back * haha Thanks Rolf, your builds are always awesome! Im hoping mine will look as good as yours do! I just noticed in the last pic,i twisted the strap under the arm,so you can see the bottom of the snap..if it was the right way, the snap top is black and way less noticeable. lol whoops! -
Darth Voorhees' TE2 build
Darth Voorhees replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
heres some pics of where im at: Here is part of my strapping system. My system consists of mostly snaps and plastic clips, with very little industrial strength Velcro. Basically what ive done, is i placed the plastic side of industrial strength velcro where i wanted snaps. I then attached the snaps to a piece of nylon webbing, (basically like when you use a strip of ABS to attach the snap, to make a "snapstrip")and glued that to the previously applied plastic side of the velcro. This does 2 things. 1- It allows the snap to conform to the curve of the armor, unlike a strip of ABS would. 2- Although its difficult, the strip CAN be removed if need be. I also attached the plastic clips by looping the elstic or webbing through and adding a snap. This way the clip can be replaced if it breaks. The strips on the chest armor are nylon webbing glued directly to the industrial velcro as ive learned if i use snaps they sometimes pop off. Ive used this system on my TK for 2 years and havent had a problem with clips breaking or anything coming undone. So i stick by this method religiously Here is how i did my "suspenders". the snap attachments are done the same as before. The "Suspenders" are 1.5" wide elastic that criss cross in the front. Why the front? Well, this prevents any of the "suspenders" showing in the "neckcut" of the back armor. You tend to see this when wearing them crossed in the back. Although its hard to see, heres a shot of me from the front without the chest armor. You can see the "ab-to-chest" straps hanging forward for easy attaching when the chest is on. Right now the clips are held on with safety pins. I will sew them into place, but i first need to adjust the length of them till its perfect, then i can sew them in place. You can also see the "suspenders" crossing in the front. I also have them snap together in the front to keep them lined up. Here you can see the shoulder attachment with white elastic and snaps. My TK has the shoulder bells with a loop of webbing with snaps on them that the shoulder elastic would slip through and then snap on. I cant use this method here as the webbing wouldhave to be white, so im going to try attaching the shoulder bells vis the bottom of the elastic shoulder straps with snaps. Here you can see how i extended the tops of the chest and back armor to lessen the gap between them. I have 42" chest so theres a little bit of a gap. I attach the kidney to the ab plate via a side plate glued to the kidney plate, and velcro on the ab plate and front of that side plate. and together.. I put it on a bit crooked, but you get the idea..the ab plate should be straight up and down lined up with the seam of the kidney plate/side plate. This also makes it adjustable by a few inches incase i lose or gain weight. So i have this so far... -
HOWTO: Make an MP40 ammo pouch for $1 in one hour

...or balsa wood block. that is freakin awesome dude! if i didnt have mine for my sandy already, id be going that route for sure. Excellent job! -
i know your pain brother. Some people just think you sit home ready to make and ship whatever it is you make. They dont think we all have real jobs and lives. I make Vader helmets and tell people 6-7months, yet after 2 months i get e-mails from some people every other day. They dont have a clue how much work goes into making them. Can be frustrating at times. You are one of the best out there for decals...in fact im going to be ordering a set of tubestripe decals from you soon for my TE2 sandy bucket =)

I think im gonna have to jump on this as well...im 38 yrs old, 5'8" at 210..id like to get down to 160-170. Or at the least lose the belly, man boobs and maybe a couple inches off the waist. Although i think i look pretty good in my TK armor...i think im at the very limit i can be without looking "fat". It bothers me the most when i troop as boba. i carry my weight kinda all over, although more in the abs and chest. Ive been cutting down portion size cuz like Mike, i LOVE food WAY too much. So im trying to eat smaller sized meals more frequently. Im also eating less junk and more grains and veggies. My lunch has gone from 2 slices of pizza and a jamcian beef patty with cheese, to a loaded up salad made with only spinach, and with beans, and veggies. And a bottle of water. Ive pretty much replaced all soda with water, and only drink a diet drink or soda on occasion, cuz sometimes i need to taste..something lol. There is also an organic brand called "honest tea"..that makes a limeade which has very very low sugar and is all organic which is good and does the job to replace sugary drinks with something thats not "diet" filled with chemicals. Ive lost about 5 pounds in just a few weeks and i think once i get back on my bike, and if i continue this, i should get to my goal weight.

AP Armor Question; How fat is too fat?

i think you can fit it Nathan. Also, you pull off an awesome Fett, if you can do that, you should have no problem fitting an AP kit. -

im 5'9" and 215lbs and i have AP armor unshimmed. Its all the way your trim it my friend. You can definately fit into it. heres some pics of me in my AP. ------------ -
Ya know, a freind of mine is a HUGE wrestling fan, and had showed me this a while ago. Its hilarious! Love the glitter covered don post TK helmet....and then himbustin his butt coming into the room....priceless!!

Actually, there is. Anything made from a mold is "pulled" As for the helmet, i agree with whats been said, recast of a MRCE. It looks to be made well, and sharp on the detail, but theres all kinds of wrong going on there lol. If you were to want a 1 piece helmet, ANHV2 would be the way to go IMO.

TE2 or TM are my top faves, with AP trailing close behind. Any of those are great armor. TE2 has linage to the original suits, as does AP, although the AP is more "cleaned up". TE2 is closer to screen used than AP. TM is a complete fan sculpt that is INSANELY accurate! Also TE2 is HIPS (high impact poly-styrene) and TM is high gloss acrylic capped ABS, AP is gloss ABS. HIPS will need to be painted and is slightly less durable than ABS. My TK is AP and im currently building a TE2 sandtrooper. All are great suits, so its your preference.

hey all, i was just wondering if anyone offers larger accurately shaped shoulder bells? My AP ones are a bit too narrow for me. I probably could widen them up a bit with a heat gun, but my heatgun broke lol. Ultimately though, i would like a little more plastic between the bell and chest as well. I feel like there is just a little too much black showing. So i guess id be looking for something similar in shape and color to AP, just a bit larger. i was thinking possibly RT-mod? Not really sure. Thanks for any info anyone may have.

Hey guys, ok i did a search and couldnt find any info on this though i know it was discussed a billion times. I decided to tear down my AP bucket and rebuild it. i had foam padding in it and it was completely lined with felt. Sounded like a good idea at the time, but i found it to be hard to keep clean and a little warm sometimes due to all the padding on my head..and the felt didnt help either lol. So i took the whole thing apart, removed all the felt and padding and painted the inside with textured paint (to hide any imperfections from leftover hot glue residue and such) I reassembled it slightly different (i wanted the brow a little higher) and i want to install the hard hat liner rather than the foam padding, but i cant for the life of me figure out how to do it properly. So before i mess up my newly re-done helmet, i figured id ask the experts! Any help or links to threads would be great! thanks troops!

Imperial Commando

Did you mean these? I believe they are from an upcoming fan film. Slave1Pilot is one of those guys,he may have more info on them. I believe he is a member here -
Could be that, could also be the time frame between the paint and clear. I usually wait at least 24hrs before applying a clearcoat.
