  1. Hi Mathias! I am currently pending! Thanks for the help!
  2. Check this out... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27565-how-i-did-my-boots-tkboots-alternative/ or mine http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27630-starsaber25s-mtk-anh-stunt-build/page-3 Its pretty simple really. Get some acetone and some towels you will never use again and scrub off the glaze down to the leather and then just paint them white Good luck
  3. There shouldn't be any issue with getting approved. The colors may be off but most people probably wouldn't even see the difference. Check my signature and you will see I made EIB with a Troopermaster helmet and MTK armor. You can see a difference ibut it doesn't look that bad to me anyway.
  4. Congrats Michael. Awesome Build!
  5. Hey Clint. For your blaster maybe you could look into this Rubies blaster that was put out during halloween. I used it instead of my DVH because i didnt want to break anything. It worked well but it just doesnt make noises. Unless you fix your icomm and yell pew! Pew! Pew Pew Pew!!! Heres before: ---------- ---------
  6. Hi Michael. You have done an excellent job on your build. Like what has been said above, your thighs are really throwing me off. Is there anyway you can get them straightened up? Your thigh ammo pack looks like it's riveted to the back of your leg because of the thigh orientation. Also I would recommend you work on your butt plate. Could you maybe make the straps from the kidney to the butt longer? Maybe that would give the slack it needs to lower the butt plate a little? Overall the armor is put together extremely well. If you could just get the thighs rotated in then it would be near perfect. Good luck on your application!
  7. You should have slapped a FISD sticker on the back of him so people would run here first to find out what a real stormtrooper replica armor looks like. There are many many people who see this at Disney World or Land every day and think that this is the way its supposed to look. Those same people get sucked into JediRobe probably. What was your conversation like Ron?
  8. Hey Isaac congrats on the purchase, you will not regret this one. I don't know what the situation is like between you and MTK right now. I was emailed by him when he was about to do a run so I ordered and paid for mine on May 17th and then it was shipped on May 27th and it arrived June 3rd from California to New York. So if he has kits ready to go then I'm sure you can expect it to take 5-7 days depending on where you live. If he is making a run then you will have to wait longer. So again congrats and this will be a very exciting time for you. We will be here for you when you start. Just remember to take a deep breath and take it slow in the beginning. Once you make your first few cuts your anxiety will go down and you will cruise the rest of the way.
  9. Hey Isaac. I have MTK armor so I can only speak to that. I have a 38 inch waist and I am 5'8 and I did not have to cut anything away from the ab and kidney as well as I did not have to add any shims or anything for it to fit. I would say that it is certainly geared toward a person who is above the normal average range of the actors used in the movies. Having said that though they are both based off of the CAP armor like Vern said so they must be very similar aside from the added room.
  10. And Brian I highly recommend you follow Adams technique for the bicep. It really does make the armor look much better when completed. Many guys have followed his lead on that and you won't regret it
  11. Hey Brian I just got caught up with your build because for whatever reason I just always click on the build thread sub forum. Welcome to the MTK family. You are moving along at a rapid pace and you seem eager to get this built quickly. Everything is coming together nicely. If I had a recommendation for you it would be that you should trim down some of your return edges. If you leave it like the way it is then it might be very uncomfortable when you wear it. My return edges are about 1/8 inch. And let me tell you that the shins still caused a lot of pain when I trooped the first time. Anyway things are looking good
  12. Hey Ian congratulations! I've been waiting to see this for a while now! You have done an amazing job on your armor and good luck in applying for centurion.
  13. Congratulations Ian! Finally man! Now get that EIB approval and be the best in your garrison! The trivial stuff will be a distant memory soon.
  14. Thanks Scott! Hey Adam thanks for the idea but I actually changed out the black elastic for white elastic before Halloween but it was after this submission. I'm sure like a lot of people, the big push was to have this armor ready for halloween. Since that has past now I am taking a big step back and evaluating everything. I am already in the process of cutting and finishing new coverstrips for the rear of the shins. I finally figured out what my issue is with the bottom of the shins and them not fitting very well and maybe you have noticed as well on your MTK kit. The bottom of the left shin is a lot more narrow then the right one! The bottom of the right is a little more tapered out so it looks like it fits a boot much better. I know my right still isn't perfect but it always fit better then the left. So I am currently thinking of a way to fix it and I am tempted to put the left shin on with the boot and then hitting it with a heat gun to mold it a little better around the boot. Just an idea but thats what I'm thinking about. As I said things are really slowing down for me on this right now and I am taking some time to do other things that I put on the back burner while I was getting this armor done. I want to apply for Centurion and I will hopefully finish all of the fine details by the end of the year. After I apply for Centurion I am thinking of making an ESB conversion set. I have been looking at my untouched MTK helmet and thinking of just making it an ESB helmet and then getting a new belt setup and getting some ESB handplates from somewhere. Thanks again for all of the responses.
  15. I got the pants and they are great. I did get the top but I ordered the wrong color and ended up using my east bay top. But you will be happy
  16. Again Thanks guys for your support! Hopefully after Halloween I will get the chance to change the small few things and apply for my centurion status. In the process of changing out the black elastic on back of the shins, working on the shoulder bells, and I will probably cut new rear coverstrips for the back of the shins to cover more area.
  17. Hey Erik. I used this Testors Spray enamel.
  18. Hey Joel. I'm 5'8" and 190lbs and chose MTK and it was a perfect fit. MTK makes his kit just a touch larger and i didnt have to cut my kit or add to it. Check my build if you want for more info. Good Luck
  19. Congratulations Andrew! I guess I can even say welcome to the ranks now
  20. Hey everyone. If you are looking for a little more pictures of this blaster I got them for you. I did my awesome trooping ready mods to it already. Before: Afters: Yeah so basically mods meaning I painted it black and left the orange tip
  21. Hey John you are certainly moving along quickly. For my dropboxes I went with 13mm. I think I cut them down to roughly 15mm and then did what Andrew said and I laid down some sandpaper and rubbed the boxes on it to get them all even which brought me down to 13mm. You can check my MTK build thread and I have most measurements put in there if you have any questions. Also this link can be VERY helpful... http://s405.photobucket.com/user/Billhag/library/TK%20Armour%20Help?sort=3&page=1
  22. Hey thanks everyone. It's pretty amazing to be at this point. Back when I first made my order back in May this accomplishment wasn't on my radar. My thoughts was to just get this done so I can wear it by Halloween. Well I made the first milestone in getting 501st approved and now the second milestone EIB before Halloween has arrived. Hopefully I can make corrections soon and be on my way to centurion!

  24. Oh and I'm glad I don't have to put screen mesh on. I didn't want to because it would really be a pain to try and keep myself hydrated.
