  1. I must admit, that I'm not super crazy about the new stormtrooper. Its cool and all but when you have such an amazing predecessor to live up to its kind of hard to accept something else. Leia had a lightsaber? You forced me to watch the trailer again . However I still did not see that. Am I missing it? Also when I watched in the beginning I was like oh cool X-Wing crash. Then it was like HOLY S***T!!! That Star Destroyer crash was friggin awesome!
  2. Yeah Andrew you can choose. I chose to have my TM helmet with a lower brow. You can look at it in my EIB or Centurion threads.
  3. Hey Andrew good luck on your build. This will be a fun time for you. There are a good handful of NE builds on here and always take the time to look those over during your build. Also since you were wondering the NE kit wasn't made for the larger troopers. The other kit available is AM2 which is geared toward larger troopers. You shouldn't have any problem getting this kit to fit your height and weight. Good Luck!
  4. Hey Eric Thanks! It would be cool if there were some ranks with Stormtroopers. Also I wonder what the deal is with the inside of the left forearm. Does that do "something" or is it just for looks...
  5. There you go Jaren! Congrats man! The long journey has paid off!
  6. Ok Mathias then I guess I'm still a little confused. I thought I had it all figured out. So there are multiple "suppliers" of AM armor. Troopergear who sells AM2 on FISD gets his armor from the sculptor and then resells it on FISD. After NE came out and FISD wouldn't allow them to sell it on here, then troopergear approached the sculptor and asked them to make new sculpts of some of the pieces to make AM more accurate without using any recast pieces of RS? And the sculptor said sure no problem? And AM2 was born? The other guy on the website still sells NE armor. So the guy selling on the website isn't even selling AM just NE? If I am correct in this assumption then this is good information to know. I have seen this website come up on FISD in the past few months a few times and everyone who responds just says yeah its AM click buy now. I'm just clearing this up. Ultimately if someone wants to buy NE it makes no difference to me personally as I have a kit that is not approved by FISD and I absolutely love it. But I still feel people should know what they are buying.
  7. AM is a legit company but you would at some point need to replace the chest if you wanted to go Centurion as the chest is not accurate. They are on the vetted list.
  8. Hey Bob. At your height you could go with pretty much any armor that is screen derived. Maybe I wouldn't look into RT-Mod but I believe all of the rest will be the same amount of trimming.
  9. John your build is completely awesome! You are doing an awesome job. This is probably going to be a quick centurion pass just from looking at your photos here.
  10. Hey joseph! A few things that I see on your armor that could use some attention are: 1. Your biceps and forearms appear to be rotated out. The thumprint on the bicep should be facing your body. 2. Next is your belt is sitting too low. It should be touching the button plate. 3. Your back plate is overlapping your kidney plate. I don't know if there is some leeway with this or not. Yours is only minimal so I don't know if will matter or not. You have done a good job and I really don't know if these listed will affect your approval but they are some things that will make your armor look that much better!
  11. Hey Layne! Armor looks awesome man! Bring another MTK to EIB.
  12. After you pull it apart, I rubbed off the glue with my fingers until it was gone. I'm sure its not the best way to do it but that is what I did.
  13. Hey Andrew! You made it finally! Its amazing how much better everything looks with the updated chest and back. The old AM chest and back just never right to me. I'm sure you won't have any problem. You built your armor to perfection. I bet you must be totally thrilled with the new outcome. Like Sly said, the only thing I noticed which I don't even know if it will be a huge deal is raising up your dropboxes. Great job man....
  14. Yeah man! Those are awesome!
  15. I know this thread went quiet but this really is a valuable tool for people who are just getting into this hobby. I summarized my cost of my build in my thread but I figured I would transfer some of the info to this one. When Derrek made this thread I thought it was a great idea and I thought people would start posting their totals to give people a heads up on how much this could cost them for a variety of armors and its assembly. The cost can vary greatly from person to person because there are so many options for every detail. But the more people who post here I bet we can get a ballpark sample on how much each armor costs from start to finish. So here is the information from my build. As you can see from my signature I went with MTK armor. If you have read my build thread you know how much I love this armor. It all first starts out with your decision on how great you want your armor to look. I wanted my armor to look good and I made my decision to go all the way to Centurion from the start. I would say that I was a modest spender. I didn't go for all of the bells and whistles out there but I also didn't cheap out on it. If I needed brackets well then I bought the brackets from Mr. No Stripes. If I needed TD clips well then I bought them from Evilboy instead of trying to make them. I never "made" anything on my own. I sourced everything out from members here, from Trooperbay, Home Depot, Amazon, and Michaels. After adding this whole thing up I totaled $1588.54. Now I would be lying if I didn't say that there is probably another $100 that should be added on to that total because there are some things that I would just grab if I was at Home Depot or something that I didn't keep a receipt for. This can really be an expensive hobby but again I think that this price is average for the lower priced armors out there. You can certainly do this for A LOT more or you can do this for less. I hope that this helps anyone who is starting out right from picking out their armor to how they want to go about assembling it.
  16. Awesome job Scott. Shouldn't be long now! Good luck!
  17. Hey Tim. Awesome job! Your build thread should just be pinned at this point...
  18. Hey Sal. The videos are very useful and give you a general idea on how it should be done. But please keep in mind that you may need to have different measurements then Mike uses in the video in order to fit you. Also he uses the bracket system when assembling that armor. You need to make your decision on how you would like it assembled. Brackets or snap and straps. But probably like many I viewed each one of those videos probably 50 times throughout my build. Good luck and start a build thread so we can help you along the way.
  19. Hey Jason have you reached out to MTK? He has made his armor a little more generous between the ab and kidney area. I have a 38 inch waist and I did not have to shim it at all.
  20. Congrats Greg! Welcome to Centurion! Your build was excellent!
  21. Hey Greg you didn't waste no time! Those forearms look much better. This should be an easy one!
  22. Congrats Eric and congrats to all of the staff. 2015 will be a great year on FISD for sure.
