Question about Anovos TK stunt helmet
starsaber25 replied to TK-16845's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Hi John. Why not contact a different vendor? Most vendors always have helmets ready to go. RS and TM are amazing and you can't go wrong there. Cheaper options are MTK, WTF, ATA and AP -
ANH Stunt build MTK
starsaber25 replied to DeceptiSean's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Geez Sean you certainly slapped this together really fast! You did a great job on this MTK. I noticed you didn't put any shoulder elastics on and didn't make any hooks for inside you biceps. If you did that would keep your biceps in a better position. Also I loaded up my boots and inside of the bottom of my shins with industrial strength Velcro and it's worked wonders. Maybe that will help keep your shins down more so you can bend your knees better. -
Thomas since you live in Norway I would highly recommend you reach out to RS Props and Troopermaster. They both offer sets already completed.
-
Thomas welcome to FISD! Your height would be good for about any kit but RT-Mod. As my buddy Allan said if you wanted to go with Anovos it will probably be a long wait right now as they are back in the pre order stage. Look at the getting started thread and you will find the link to the vetted armor vendors. Try and read through the whole thread so that you are well informed when you make the most important decision you're going to make.

I agree with you as well Kalani. Walt has a proven track record and has never steered anyone wrong. While on the same subject Mike (MTK) is in the same boat. However, you will find that some people will believe that they do not belong here because they casted parts of the TE2 and CAP which is always taboo. Both of them provide a great set of armor and I'm sure they will never be added to the list. But I'm starting to find out especially lately that this list isn't the be all end all. I just recently read someone accusing troopermaster of recasting TE. So there will always be people who feel a certain way about certain things. It doesn't change the fact that they all provide a great set of armor to make our legion look that much better!

Yes nice job guys! It never gets old reading those every month! Keep up the good work!

Carl you're off to a good start. I think you can cut more out of the corners atleast. I can't see the right eye too well from the picture but the left eye can certainly be cut out some more.

Awesome Job Glen! Looks like an awesome time. Your FOTK looks great! -
The Empire City Garrison was invited to appear at the NY Philharmonic performance of āA John Williams Celebration at Lincoln Center in New York City on Tuesday May 24th, 2016. This was a planned gala by the NY Philharmonic featuring the music of John Williams. They were having a red carpet and a cocktail reception prior to the concert and thought it might be very cool to have some Stormtroopers or other Star Wars characters on the red carpet greeting gala guests. The Empire City Garrison troopers arrived at Lincoln Center at approximately 4 pm. They were given a secure changing room on the bottom floor backstage in Geffen Hall. At 4:15 all troopers were brought up to the cocktail room and red carpet area for a briefing on the event and their roll in it. After the briefing everyone was escorted back down to the dressing room to dress and be ready for the 5:30 pm appearance. At 5:30 the Lincoln Center rep escorted our fully dressed troopers up to the cocktail room. The Imperial force takeover of the room commences at this point. There were 2 stormtroopers placed on the red carpet, 2 more stormtroopers positioned on guard at one entrance to the cocktail room, and 2 Biker scouts on guard at the other. Lord Vader and the Emperor were positioned in the middle of the cocktail room flanked by TIE pilots, a snow trooper, an AT-AT driver and an imperial gunner. For the next hour and a half guests took tons of photos with the legion troopers. The crowd was completely surprised and blown away that the Empire was there to celebrate John Williamsās music with all of them. A few celebrities were on hand and also wanted a part of the photo opt action with the ECG troops. Among them were actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Thomas, and FOX news anchor Megyn Kelly. As you can see in the photos, Mr. Baldwin felt the need to get as close to the power of the dark side as he could. He felt itā¦ā¦oh he felt it. This turned out to be a fantastic time for all. The Lincoln center staff were extremely accommodating as they provided a dinner for our troopers. They even prepared a room specifically for the ECG to watch a live stream of the performance on a big screen TV after they suited down immediately after the legion appearance. ECG handlers/costume/Photo support in attendance: Ray Eng Jennifer Overeem Helen Keier Alberto Vasari ECG Troopers in attendance: Russell Augello SL-4038 Chris Feehan SL-6744 Jonathan Diaz IG-16890 Ted Moy TA-6298 Eugene Rios TK-11223 Anthony TI-10666 John Ferrara TS-11249 Miguel Lopez TK-30574 Gerrit OvereemTK-7186 Mike DeGuzman TK-11435 John Trowbridge TI-42070 Marek Mirecki TB-10804 Mark Rentflejs TB-8259

Well glen certainly is right. If you can get the ears to fit you can easily do the rest of the kit. However if you are looking for less stressful peices then start with the shoulder bells and biceps.
-
Those are right. Take your time with those MTK shins. Fit, trim a little, then trim again. And again.
-
Happy Birthday Gazmosis! Thank you for everything that you did/do around here!

Pyrates and the March to EIB & Centurion
starsaber25 replied to Pyrates's topic in ANH Build Threads
Looks like you certainly have your list to move forward Aaron. When I put my armor together I never realized how a troop would have so much of an impact on how my armor was put together and the changes that needed to be made. When I was building my armor I was certainly going for the "look." Now the changes that I do make are for functionality. But you would never get that the first time you build an armor set. Dare I say that sometimes you may push the limits of the CRL's especially for centurion so that you can wear your armor more comfortably and have it function better. Good luck with your changes! -
Star Wars Celebration 2017 Set for Orlando! See you there?
starsaber25 replied to Dark PWF's topic in Off Topic
I know that checking the box on the plane varies by price depending on your location. But is anyone willing to share how much it cost them to check it? Also what was the cost of shipping the armor to the hotel. And again I know that probably most experiences will deal with going to Anaheim but I'm still just curious. -
Yes Vern is right. mtk_armor@cox.net And MTK is high quality first class armor. Mike has made many changes to his armor to make it more accurate over time. You will not be disappointed in the least bit if you chose MTK. He usually gets his armor out pretty quickly. If you need anything else go ahead and ask. You may always reach me by PM as well. Good luck!

TK-71177 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status [MTK] [227]
starsaber25 replied to Jaren's topic in Request Centurion Status
Geez Aaron I don't know how I missed this. Sorry buddy! You did an amazing job on your armor. You should be real proud. You made your MTK kit look like it could be one of the best kits out there. Congrats! You deserve it! -
I'm a little late to this party but this looks like an amazing troop! Awesome!

Help! Does Scott M do ESB decals?
starsaber25 replied to The Anonymous Egyptian's topic in ESB Build Threads
Another option is to get ESB decals from trooperbay.com those are the ones I have used and they are great and easy to apply. -
Hey Simon and welcome to FISD! The getting started thread has a ton of pages but please read through the whole thing. I promise it will be worth it in the end! Like Randy mentioned this will be your most important choice. So it's best to make a well informed one.
-
Yes FX armor is still approvable up to Expert Infantry. Beyond that you would need to replace the chest and back plate for centurion as they are not accurate. The helmet is no longer approvable. However, for the price of FX I wouldn't see why you wouldn't go for a more accurate armor.
-
DImitri if you are looking for a great set of armor and also are looking to become part of the 501st I would stick to the first page here and then some other great choices are MTK, WTF and NE. I would steer clear of FX at this point. The helmet is no longer approvable and the chest and back plate are far from accurate. I know 46 pages is a lot of reading but I would really try and get through this thread. It has most of the information you are looking for. Start contacting some of the vendors and get their pricing and wait times.
-
Hey Dimitri and welcome to FISD. Becoming a stormtrooper is a very exciting time. If you want to see what the difference is between an ANH Stunt, Hero, or even the difference to an ESB then click on the top tab that says "costume requirements." There you will be directed to the CRLs on the 501st page. Click on the different links and then you will be able to compare and see the difference. If I can offer you any advice it is to do as much research as you possibly can before you pull the trigger on your choice of armor. Most people only get once chance at this and you want it to be the choice that you will be most happy with. Have fun.
