  1. Looking sharp Kenzo! Congrats on your approval. Have fun trooping!
  2. Hi Joe and welcome to FISD! I noticed you put Empire City Garrison as your unit. Where are you located? Sadly as Brian has said your Don Post will not make the cut. But please check out the getting started threads and you will find a ton of information there. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. Our Empire City Commanding Officer is Anthony "Redforce" and my buddy Allan "allan1313" and I are also on staff at ECG. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. We would like to get you started in the right direction. Please head over to 501ecg.com/ and say hello to everyone.
  3. You have gotten awesome info at this point. Most of those questions you have posed can always be added or taken away at a later time. The only real "build" questions are the kidney notches and rank bar which Joseph gave you the answer to. After you build your armor and start trooping you will find what out what you like and don't like. My first troop I went with a chin strap. After that I felt it was pointless and took it out and haven't looked back. I just have padding on top and that is all thats in mine besides electronics. After you originally build your armor you will find that improvements are always happening afterwards. It is the never ending build really. But that is what's fun about this.
  4. Hi Steve. I just checked out that website. From what I can see, the armor they offer is the older FX armor. They even show a picture of the FX helmet as well as a MR helmet. I would urge you to stay away from that site. If nothing else I would show this to UKG members to see if it would be accepted by them. I think troopermaster would be the way to go.
  5. These things are really great. I used some of them when I built my armor. The most helpful one for me was for the split rivets in the abdomin and kidney. Nice job Chris!
  6. See there is always someone who is smart and figures things out for the rest of us! Very smart.
  7. You made a great choice. I have a TM helmet and I love it. I'm not familiar with Atlantic Composits. Do they have a website?
  8. Nice! Looked like fun!
  9. Congrats Cameron! You look great! You will have a blast at your first troops. There is nothing like it. I look forward to you EIB submission soon!
  10. Well it's fine I suppose but 3 pieces can be a pain. You are in the U.K. Where you can get some of the best stuff around. Check out troopermaster, RS props or on Facebook check out the shed of glittering delights. I would go with them over this helmet. Where did you find this from?
  11. I will certainly be there for the group photo and the meet and great. But I won't be able to make the storm the beach event. I look forward to finally getting to meet a lot of you
  12. Steve - My pal Allan has given you great advice. The BS helmet is really for a Rogue One trooper. And like he said you should look at that getting started thread and get a helmet that is for ANH. Take plenty of time to research. Buying armor is pretty much the most important thing you will do in this hobby. You want to make sure you are well educated before you pull the trigger.
  13. Hi JC. I'm with Chris on this one. Anovos is a great set and I think that it is minimal effort to make it go EIB. You said you already removed the return edge on the bottom of the forearm. See you already started on your way to EIB and you haven't even broken a sweat! Anyway, as far as return edges go, it is good to leave some because it adds a level of illusion that your armor is thick. But of course it is always best to build your armor to make it feel the most comfortable. But Chris has given you some good measurements so far.
  14. Yeah Danny. Looks good! Have an ESB blaster yet?
  15. Hey Justus! I just love polishing my armor all of the time. I promise you will like it if you try it
  16. Awesome! Cool photos. Looks like a fun time. Too bad that security guard tried confiscate imperial property. Good job everyone!
  17. Welcome Shane! Congrats on your approval! Now you get to enjoy one of the best parts about our hobby and that is going out and trooping. Have fun out there.
  18. To Echo Ben and Mark, just rub it with your thumb. It will ball up and come right off.
  19. The 501st Legion's Empire City Garrison appeared at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, Long Island NY on Sunday March 5th, 2017. This event featured the "Chocolate Expo", with vendors and exhibits, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Long Island (Long Island Cares). http://www.licares.org The Empire City Garrison was joined by members of the the Rebel Legion's Echo Base, and North-East Remnant Garrison Member Bryan Phil (TI-41424 / Tie Pilot), and we appreciated their support. We would also like to congratulate ECG Members Christoph Black (ID-61400 /Officer) and Alaric Hahn (DS-41311 / Kylo Ren) on their first troops with the garrison. We are thrilled to have you aboard, and we hope you enjoyed the experience. Richard Alvarado (IN-72129 / Navy Trooper), one of our newer members celebrated his 2nd troop with the garrison. His young son was with him dressed as a Clone trooper, and they were very excited to help with the Blast-A-Trooper event. This event was very short notice, and we only had just over 2 weeks to get the word out and get it covered. We want to thank everyone for jumping on this and coming out to support this event. 20. Yeah thats unfortunate that you used ca glue for the shoulder bridges. I would agree with Paul here and even though it is recommended you do 5 bumps it isn't a requirement in the CRLs. Sometimes we have to make adjustments based on our body size. Maybe someone else could chime in who has a better understanding of that EIB/Centurion issue because to me an inch shouldn't really affect your approval for those. If it needs to be fixed I would recommend making a small strap to try and force those two pieces closer together.
  21. Congrats Peter! Awesome design! Great job to everyone who submitted as well. You are all very talented people!
  22. Congrats Skylar! That is very exciting! I hope you enjoy it.
  23. Hi Balazs. You aren't supposed to post ongoing armor/helmet sales in the commissary. I would also suggest you contact a staff member in regards to the kit you are willing to offer.
  24. Hi Mike. Armor analysis is something that happens all of the time. People critique armor based upon their personal opinions. I have seen people negatively critique almost every armor available today. I don't feel that any of this is a personal attack on David. It is also not a personal attack on you. You like the set of armor and you are building it for a friend. Kudos to you good sir! However, we will need to keep posts in our threads under control and sometimes emotions can run high. Please keep it all civil. I will be sending you a PM.
