  1. Im gonna use snap plates inside the armor
  2. Ahh... yeah i know those. I have seen them at Softgun events and i think the British army uses them as well. But i have only seen them as PTT, so i dont think it would work, with the neck seal, and unbendy arms, unles you somehow find one that is VOX activated.
  3. Yeah i hear ya. If i had a wire, i think I would tear it out mid troop in frustration!! I have seen some people attaching the mic to their chin, instead of the helmet. This would remove some the frustration of the wire running out of the helmet... but I just dont like the idea...But maybe thats just me
  4. About a month from now, I should have a big brown box in my possesion, if not, then it would be very close. Anyway, before that said box arrives, i want to be sure, that i have everything ready for it, so I can start the build right away. I'm going for EIB and Centurion with this kit, although I'm gonna build it for trooping. So far i have theese items on their way from Trooperbay: E6000(3 tubes) Frown mesh Rare earth magnets(30 pcs) Gray and french blue humbrol paint I have found Lexan scissors and a good modelling knife. I'm gonna use snap system for the strapping inside the armour, and adopting the original strapping system for the shins. Shoulders will be connected across the back of the neck i think, but not fully decided yet. For the neck seal, I'm thinking of sewing a simple one that i can just pull over my head, with no back seam. Maybe even attach it to the neck on my undersuit. Although i have ordered E6000, I'm not sure I will use it. I'm used to woorking with plastic cement on miniatures, and actually assembled most of my FX armour kit with it. I used the blue bottle with the yellow top, from Humbrol, and i like how the plastic fuses together, for a strong bond. But will this work on ABS? If going with the E6000, should the part be sanded, before the glue is applied, so as to give a good bonding surface? Helmet will be assembled and painted by TM himself, and I'm also getting my belt and holster from him. I got rubber handplates and gloves from Karin. So, have I missed anything? Any and all advice is more than welcome! Cheers
  5. Sorry to hear that... Guess those wireless mics are quite sensitive...
  6. Can i change the skin on the boards??? Didnt know, and dont really care. I'm here because i like whats here, and not how it looks
  7. Looking good. I like that you are keeping the scratching at a minimum.
  8. The hair thing was meant for Gazmosis helmet, but i guess a balaclava solves his problem as well I have tried putting hovi speakers in my FX bucket, but yes the feedback is quite a problem. Hoping to find a solution though, as i would like to have the sound coming out of the helmet, and not the chest. But i can see the advantage in having the cordles mic, so i might try that. A wire from helmet to the chest is just a death trap as I'm sure to strangle myself in it, eventually
  9. Like the helmet, but doesent your hair get stuck in the fans? Have any of you tried to install speakers? James: Wow thats a nice and tidy helmet!! I guess you have your speakers in the chest then?? Why does the hovi back go so long inside the helmet though??
  10. Stupid me, just need to resize the pictures Here goes. Out of the box. Everything was velcroed together, so i removed it all, except for the back of the shins, and glued all the part, and attached snap plates and straps. Also got TK boots instead of the Elvis supplied boots. So it can be approved if you do some work and buy new boots, but for the price of this kit, its better to buy a proper kit. You have almost the same work anyway, except a bit of trimming. I have learned my lesson, and i will get a shiny new TM kit around the start of Febuary Oh and just for the fun of it, then here is the first time i saw my armour. It got shipped to my parents while i was i Afghanistan, and this is my father trying it on
  11. Oh i see... Hmm... tried to upload here, but how do I upload more than 2mb pictures at a time??
  12. My suit is that very same(rookie mistake). If you people want, i can post pictures of it out of the box, and after my mods that got it 501st approved? Or check this link. Its my thread on the NG boards. http://www.nordicgarrison.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=4681
  13. As the topic states: What's in your buckets? I thought it could be cool to see what you guys do to the inside of your buckets, and mayby get some inspiration for my(and mayby others) future bucket builds. Did you paint the interior, what kind of liner do you use, what electronics and how do you fit them, what works and what should be avoided? Lets hear it, and the more pictures the better Cheers
  14. I currently have an FX suit, and have build it to the best of the specifications as i can, but you cant really go more than just approved with the kit... BUT i have a TM kit coming in, in February and I'm gonna build for Centurion, so the EIB will be nothing more than a stepping stone for this kit. Although I do believe my current FX kit, could be made EIB approvable, with some effort, but i just dont want to go that extra mile with a FX, when it will never be able to make it to the Finish line of a Centurion. Also i have noticed that the TB's only have two types of costume standards. The Pathfinder and the Lancer, so there it seem like they have cut out the middle costume and and gone for all or nothing...so to speak... And can big guys be Centurions??? Yes ofcourse. One of the first things i read on the 501st main page, is that there will be NO discrimination on peoples build, and its all about the costumes being correct and not the people behind them being of correct size. Just my two cents

  16. I was stupid enough to just press the buy button at jedirobe, and i have had a lot of work with this so called "ready to wear" armour! If you want i can send you some pictures of the suit, before and after my mods, just so you can see the work done to it. Even after many hours work, its only just good enough for 501st standars. Right now I'm waiting for a brand new TM suit
