Naaah, what makes you think I'd do that BTW heres a good pic from the start of the Malmö troop, where the armour sits really great -
TM 1,5mm ANH(stunt) [*TM]

Not really. Its a riggers belt, and VERY sturdy. They can be used for rapelling! But the thighs still manage to pull it down a bit when I'm walking around in it, unless I make it extremely tight. I had tightened it a lot the last hour of the last troop. It made my waist real sore, but it reduced the gap and made it easier to walk. So I think some suspenders would do wonders. Or maybe some garters like the ones Mightytank makes, could help even out the pull on the belt, so its not pulling in the same place. I guess I will have to experiment with this when I get home. -

No I didnt. I have tried contacting him, but he havent replied, but I'm looking into making some myself. The biggest problem though, is finding the right pieces. Also I have been using the webbing straps and a belt for this troop. The only problem I had with them, was that they moved around a bit, and pulled really hard on the belt. Its the two outermost straps, with the plastic buckles. -

You really think its that simple?? Almost sounds too easy, but if that indeed is the case, I will hate myself for not doing so right away! But it still leaves me the large gap between the Cod and the thighs, but perhaps some suspenders could help me there, as the thighs pulls the belt down over some time trooping. -

Okay, I have been thinking about how to correct the overlapping problem with the back and chest and here's what I think I need to do. I need to do a bit of heat bending on the tabs that goes from the back and on to the shoulders. This should lift it up a bit. Also I need to do a bit more work on the cod, and either cut or heatbend again, to make it slimmer. I noticed during the troop this weekend that my thighs are pushing the cod up, because its too wide, and therefore making such a big overlap of the chest piece. I have tried to illustrate this in paint. Let me know what you guys think. The red lines indicate where I would need to heatbend or cut. -
Yes that is the correct T-track to remove. Remember to re drill the holes underneath, and maybe attach a bayonet lug And I had some trouble with my D-ring too...those things are sturdy!!

Good to go EIB and Centurion?
Arnie_DK replied to Dr.Senf's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Just noticed something, that could be a problem. Are the overlap on the shins, the right way? Just saw a black line there, which look like the inner piece overlaps the outer, and it should be the other way around, but its hard to tell really. -
Yeah I saw this advertisement when I went to see EP1. Its actually really cool Sadly the NG was not involved in this event. Would have been much easier for me if we were, as I live right beside a Toys R'us. As far as I know they had Skywalker.dk to do this event. But its what started the tours for us in Norway Sweden and Finland

You asked if it was good enough for EIB and Centurion, so I answered on what I could see was missing in your pictures. Remember I dont know you or how great your knowledge is, so when you ask, I try to help But there is really no need to discuss this any further. You have the handle, so its good. -

The problem with the loading handle, is that as far as I can see, its missing... you need to have it for Centurion -

Looks good for EIB, and the only thing that might give you trouble with Centurion, is a Loading handle on the E-11 and maybe the buttons/plate on the 02canister is a bit high. Can easily be corrected by bending the aluminium clips a little. I cant see anything else. Good job -

I have seen an increasing amount of people asking about comercial available armour that is "ready to wear" and its aprovability, vs. the fan made armour, that you must assemble yourself. I have been down both alleys, and wanted to show you all the difference between theese types of armour. So here is some comparison shots of my Jedirobe/stormtroopercostumes armour that I got "ready to wear and 501st replica" compared to my newly assembled TM. The left is the jedirobe, out of the box. In the middle, its been modified to be 501st approved and on the right is my TM. And just to let you know, it took more time to modify the Jedirobe armour to a basic 501st standard, than it did to make the TM EIB approved! Also, the cost of the jedirobe armour is far greater than the TM!!! Also the Jedirobe armour is made of some kind of styrene plastic(I glued it together wiith hobby glue!!), that easily cracks, and the TM is ABS plastic. But here you have it. Hope its usefull to someone out there. EDIT:--------------
