  1. I had that same problem. I added an extra thin, elastic strap across the front of the shoulder bells, running under the chest armor. They stay put nicely now.
  2. You don't have to find a specific maker in Canada, although there are makers there. Armor comes in set sizes from different makers, usually including the helmet, and prices can vary. Please read this. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ thoroughly before you buy anything.
  3. Mark's contact info is in this thread, along with other armor makers. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  4. I just ordered a couple of pairs. My Under Armor is OK, but with trooping so much in Florida, I figured its good to have extras.
  5. You don't really need one, but they are nice to have. You should be able to use one hand for the snap (popper), or do like Mark said & get a spotter to help.
  6. I know the strapping under the shoulder bridges is white for ANH & ESB, but what color is used for ROTJ armor? I have seen either black, or nothing (since the bridges actually connect the armor), so what is the ruling on this? Or does it matter? Thanks!
  7. Scott, I think they might have been common in the UK in the 70s, but not really ever here in the US. I've been trying to find suitable look-alikes here for a while.
  8. After reading through this, I admit being a little confused still on the hyperfirm's allen bolts being at the 3 & 6 o'clock position. Do they have to be in the 4 & 10 o'clock position, or has this since changed for the requirements for Centurion? I'm only asking because I plan on getting one and am researching what all needs to be modded. I know it will still need the forward d-ring. Is there anything else that would prevent a hyperfirm from being Centurion? Thanks!
  9. With"FX" and "Halloween" both in the title, there's no need to keep reading it's description.
  10. I tried to find the black ankle boots too, for another project. Like Brian said, they are really expensive, and hard to find in the right size. I imagine it would really be a pain to keep dying them. I already have to repaint my hand guards after almost every troop. lol... I love my TK boots! You can't go wrong with those.
  11. You mean Reserve Pilot. And don't buy a regular military flight suit. Those were approved in the past, but accurate Imperial ones are required now. MonCal is on about every forum if you search for him. Just shoot him a PM. Oh, and he's definitely not the same guy as Mr. Bojangles. If anybody wants to do a "cheap" costume, there are ways to keep costs down, but like any costume, cheap usually goes hand in hand with poor quallity. New costumers, as well as seasoned ones, should always ask lots of questions before spending money or wasting their time on something that won't get approved, or will have to be heavily altered. With crewman costumes, a lot of the price depends on boots. Accurate jackboots are almost as hard to find these days as officer's riding boots. If anyone is interested in doing a Crewman (what the Reserve Pilot was copied from), or the Mechanical Crewman, check out www.imperialofficer.com for all the details.
  12. I believe when they were filming that scene, Luke is supposed to draw his blaster. As we all know, doing such (especially with one hand) can be awkward, so they gave him a little extra anchoring to help him out there.
  13. Saw this on Face Book this morning. Phil is a squad mate & it seems no one has heard from him. If anybody knows where he might be, or has heard from him, please let the police know. Our prayers are with him and his family.
  14. Nah, nothing got trimmed off of it. I wish I could just trim myself. lol...
  15. I was thinking of going for Centurion, when one obvious problem presented itself.....no matter how much I suck in my gut, my side gaps will not meet. I'm a half inch shy on each side. I have ATA & I really don't want to use shims for such a small gap. Would it be wise to replace just the kidney plate with a larger one? RT possibly? Anyone else done that? All advice is welcome
  16. Looks pretty good, man. I think your belt is a bit long. The end of it shouldn't go past the TD.
  17. We've got a few more Squad 7 troopers lined up! Look for their threads to pop up soon.
  18. Biceps are fine, gloves are fine. The rubber ones are for centurion A bit of the brown part of your suspenders is showing. The 3rd ear screw at the base of the helmet doesn't look right. It looks like a philips head, not a flat head. Armor & weapon look great. All other detals look fine to me. I believe you need a bucket-off pic.
  19. Good luck with your mods. I'm sure, with enough effort, it will pay off in the end.
  20. I just use dish soap and warm water, but I'm sure there are much better ways, as mentioned, to stay shiny.
