  1. Yeah, I didn't really put the foam in very well in these pics. It's fixed now. I couldn't find any good reference pics of what the foam should look like in the bells, so my first try wasn't super-accurate. Trial & error...
  2. My bad, Mark. At least I stuck out in the Disney Christmas Parade. I think I was in at least a dozen pics I saw from that.
  3. Thanks, Bobby! Too bad this was the one armor I didn't bring to SWW. LOL.
  4. I originally cut mine the way you have & it passed. Of course that was a while ago. You can see many troopers on-screen that have hacked-up thighs for running scenes or whatever, so it's accurate. When I built my sandy, I really wanted to keep the details on the rear of the thighs, so I cut about an inch all the way around the top of the thighs. I was careful to measure all the way around so they'd keep that smooth, pointy shape at the top. With some careful shimming, they came out good & I have great movement.
  5. According to the CRL. LOL. Actually, I had them placed a little impractically in these pics. I originally put foam just at the base of the bell, which made them stick out & look a bit goofy. I now have two thin strips going down the front & back inside edges. I think that gives them a more screen-accurate look.
  6. Ah yes. Thats exactly where I read that. Cool. The spray bottle is cheap enough that if I buy it and it does nothing, I wouldn't be too bummed out.
  7. I read somewhere recently where some one suggested "bed-liner" for strengthening thin armor. Has anyone tried this? If so, would something like this be useful? h--------Or is a more industrial strength item implied?
  8. How about adding LMO, TK Boots, ATA, T/MC, CFO, NE, & FLG?
  9. It's hard to tell from the pics, but up close....this is ten times worse than the pic above with the pauldron.....screen lenses anyone? There also isn't a single piece that doesn't have a rivet or three incorrectly placed or a single part that could easily be upgraded to L1.
  10. Thanks, Glen. Yeah, I've since trimmed the thighs a tiny bit & repositioned them, so I don't stab the backs of my knees while walking now. I think it would fit perfectly if I could just loose about 5 lbs. Hahaha.
  11. I bought a few of Karin's & I love em. Verry accurate.
  12. Yeah, I had to really heat mine up to give it a nice curve. I used a blow dryer. I like Mathias' idea about the boiling water. I'll have to try that sometime.
  13. I believe NE is a bit on the bigger side, but I'll let the guys who've bought it confirm.
  14. I just had to repaint my ROTJ boots (since the soles are white) after the paint I had thought was awesome started flaking off. I just used Krylon rattle-can from Walmart. I'll let you know how successful that is...or isn't. lol.
  15. Sweet deal there! Good luck with the paint job!
  16. Yeah, I agree with Karin. I wouldn't go by that tutorial.
  17. Glad you found some boots. Stormtrooper boots are now becoming about as hard to find as officer boots. Hahaha.
  18. Mine fit perfectly, but they do leave a bit of room for some comfy insoles, which is nice for troopng. So, I guess they might run a hair large. Always better to go larger than smaller if ever in doubt.
  19. If adjusting the shoulder straps doesn't work, try moving down the kidney plate more if you can. It could be riding up on you a bit.
