  1. I've not decided yet. Like the idea of using the original method and need to look more into that. But feel more comfortable with snaps as that's what I'm used to using. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. Looking awesome! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  3. I am edging towards 1.5mm. I believe it wil be lighter to wear and like the idea of flex. Im also thinking about the build and ease of trimming, but wanted as much info as I could get. I'm going with RWA armour. Thanks for the responses so far! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  4. Hi all. Just a quick question, I need some advice. I am looking at making a purchase in the not too distant future. I know which armour vendor I'm going with, my question is do I go for 1.5mm or 2mm abs? What are the pros and cons? What do you guys wear and why? Sorry if this question has been asked already! Thanks in advance Marc Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you kind sir! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah not going to be able to square them off, the shoulder bridges have been squared up but need a little more sanding.
  7. A little work on the TD before Inverted the nipple After Still some more sanding and another coat to do but looking a lot better. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  9. So. I recieved my aluminium strip to make my TD clips. The question is this....what lengths do they need to be? What's the distance upto the 90° return (clip part) and what distance do the screws go in? Also what type of screw? Oh, so many questions! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  10. I thought overlap had covers added too? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  11. So what I still need to do. Trim down shoulder bridges and refit. Shin and thigh covers. Aquire new holster and lid. Move TD brackets closer to end caps. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. As soon as I can get it finished mate. Don't think I'm that far away now. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry Tony, I did misunderstand you. I initially read your post as "it won't get cleared, and this is as far as the build should go." After going back I understand now, that you were talking about higher levels. Please accept my most humble apologies. As for the lid, yeah I'm aware of the need to change it out. Again, thank you for the clarification. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  14. Not been doing much of late. Quite simply the reason being I was putting off doing the cover strips. I just could not face the score, snap, sand, score, snap, sand. How monotonous. Anyway I finally brought myself to begin. I think on the next build I will get these out of the way as early as possible. BORING! As Tony said, think the build has gone as far as it can in terms of getting cleared and probably won't pass basic. But it has been a great learning curve for me so far, and I can't wait to pass it on to my son. I will take all my learnings into my next build of an RWA kit. Please, as always, your feedback is much appreciated as I want to get it as close as I can. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  15. On a side note...... I was planning on working on my armour today. But the boys room was in need of a little tlc (he's 15 so you can imagine the state of it) Anyway, I picked up a battlefront poster and standee from work a couple of weeks ago. The boy had a plan for a themed wall with his blasters mounted etc. So I thought I'd give him a little surprise when he gets home..... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

  17. That's what I did. But instead of moving the snaps I swapped the straps over and and rotated them which gives the same result as moving them down. I need to do a test fit yet, but hopefully this will resolve the issue. If not I will give Jeffs idea a go. Maybe both ways of needed! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  18. He will wet himself! He keeps coming home from school saying " can I try your armor on dad?" Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah. With it being fx the ab is ab too long. Will be trimming it down. Is the gap ok though? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  20. By the way, this is my boy "test fitting" the armour that he doesn't know is his. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. How's the abb and kidney join looking? Ok? Excuse the fact I have removed the lid from the pics (fx too #embarrassed ) Also need to get a new holster Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  22. So when's the big reveal? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks for the feedback Tony.Could you have another look at the other pictures of my thighs. They are overlap method, I was under the impression that they could be cleared for basic in the current way they are assembled once all covers strips are in place. I'm attempting to make them more aesthetically pleasing on the inside seam by dropping in a small strip in order to improve its appearance. Is this not allowed? As always I really appreciate all the feedback I have had and advice I get. I have asked the question about how I can improve them, and tried to express/get across my dilemma. Which has been on my feed for a while now with only one response. I have sent PM's out asking for help, and after not much feedback, I decided to have another look at them today. I had a thought around what I could do to improve them. I am certainly not trying to hide anything or deceive anyone mate As I've said before, I didn't know half of what I know now ( which still is very little! ) when I first assembled it all those years ago, so made loads of mistakes. If it's no good or there is no way of fixing then I accept that. I am half way through, this build and my full intention is to use this kit to learn with - and finish it. I am also building this one to give to my son, as I am not too far from sourcing a new kit. Cheers Marc Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  24. Been looking at the thighs again, and had an idea. Here's how they look at the moment with cover strips. Nb they are not yet fitted just clamped whist I had a play with them. The inner side has no raised overlap / abs, so I can't do butt joint and the overlap method just isn't working. There's lots of shadow on the inner side and you can clearly see the glueing. However, if I rounded of a thin strip of abs I could emulate to a degree the missing abs. And here is the mock up. Again this pic is only clamped together. I wanted some feedback before I progress.
