  1. Hello. What's the issue? Put some pics up and be specific about what problems you're having I'm sure people will chime in once they know what you need help with. I'm in the uk too. Have you joined the UK garrison yet?
  2. Now my question for us "huskier" guys. I stumbled across this in Tony's Anovos build thread and Tim mentioned it in this months news letter. So I should be correct in cutting a 50mm x 22mm notch?<br>This is final cut for me. <br> Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk<br> Interesting, I thought the notch was always 22x22 regardless of size for Centurion? At least that's what the CRL says. Sorry I messed up the quote. Yeah. My understanding is that it should line up with the edge of the butt plate. We need some clarity me thinks.... I'd hang fire until we know more. As they say " it's easier to cut off than put back!"
  3. I am currently working on my other templates at the moment. Here is a copy of the blank torso I made to use in photoshop. Not sure if anybody else wants to use it for their plans, but feel free to download a copy if you do. Marc
  4. I'm gonna get rid of the curve on the plan. It's just how the armour I used as a template was shot!Webbing for the double snaps, elastic for singles.
  5. I'm in the UK . Never heard of mom and pop! PM inbound.
  6. Been looking all week......and I still can't find any with the right sized head!
  7. You will probably find that you won't need to order any. You should have enough excess abs from trimming ..... happy days!
  8. Ebay is good for items like this. Anything specific though is best to ask the forum [emoji3]
  9. It depends on your preference really. I'm just getting ready for my second build. Like you I'm sourcing materials ahead of my armours arrival. I went with mainly using elastic on my last one but feel that webbing is a better option (for me) on the next build. Going for webbing on the torso and elastic on the arms and legs. Good luck, enjoy, and if ever there's a question just ask, loads of people will chime in to help out!
  10. A splash of black Paint and they're look good to go [emoji2]
  11. Just finished planning the layout for fittings and placement for the torso Updated..
  12. https://vimeo.com/168911068 Gutted!
  13. Cheers, I haven't found it any more awkward when fastening up tbh.The whole magnet connection sounds very interesting. The only thing, I can think of in terms of using this method is making sure that not only are they strong enough to hold everything in place, but also weak enough to pull apart. Knowing my luck I'd end up getting into my armour and then never being able to get out! Keep us posted on your progress!
  14. Hahaha....... Didn't think it would be long before you started tinkering with it again!
  15. How long are your double snap straps? I found that if the straps were too long then the result was there room for one of the sides to drop. I had the plates sit as close to the edges as I could get them without them being seen in order to reduce the distance between kidney and ab plate. I think I got the straps down to a total length of 60-70mm if I remember correctly, which seemed to sort the issue out for me. I had my strap and plates positioned as close to the top and bottom of the kidney as I could get them. I do like the added security of that abs slot method, very clever!
  16. Cheers, My plan is to glue all the lower plates on each individual piece of the torso first, along with fitting the straps once dry ( which will be between 100mm to 150mm in length - not decided yet) then, measure up , Mark off where the upper plates will sit, and glue the upper plates once aligned. If that makes sense? This should hopefully reduce wastage and give a cleaner fit etc.
  17. A quick question. Has anyone got any experience of using white webbing instead of elastic for the chest to back connection? I'm considering the webbing for a more rigid fit. Also,Surely this would not affect clearance for EIB, but Centurion? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Marc
  18. Had a little time this morning so I decided I would do the mundane task of making my snap plate holes. First off I set my soldering iron up using a small vice. Despite what I've read, I had no issues keeping the iron clean of melted plastic. A wee sponge every now and then kept it clean. Beware though, the widows should be open as the fumes are not good. Centering the 40mm plates was easy. Just fold in half and away you go! Simples! The 50mm doubles were a little trickier but not an issue. Again, just fold in half, and then fold the first half again and that's your mark. Do the same for the other hole. About an hour later and all the plates are done and ready to go! I also found that by looping an elastic band through my roll of webbing and tying it off gave me a more convenient way of cutting the plates as it kept it all neat and tidy. When I needed more webbing I just rolled the band backwards. May be my OCD kicking in but it worked for me in my limited workspace (AKA the kitchen counter!) Some sad news to report though, some of the little guys didn't make it. RIP chaps. Marc
  19. I'm in the same situation sourcing these.I know they are japanned screws, but don't know the part number This is the only refference I have
  20. This is gonna be my issue on my next build.I want to use webbing opposed to elastic for more rigidity. However, there's no give in webbing. Think I'm gonna glue in the lower plates first, fit the straps, and then measure up and mark off where the upper plates will sit. How did you do yours?
  21. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/301959409594
  22. Hi Lee. This guy puts lots of these kits up for sale. The price is good, but there will be a lot to do to get this cleared. Im by no means an expert, but from what I've seen of these kits they seem like FX kits. The lid (as my understanding) would not get cleared so you are looking at dishing out at least another £120 or so taking it pretty much upto the £300 mark. I had an FX build which I was working on to get cleared, but it got to the point where I realised that I was sinking more and more cash into it that I could just give it my son and start saving for a better kit. My WIP below: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/35382-Shhhh-a-quiet-fx-rebuild Am still saving, but in the meantime I am stocking up on all the other bits that I will need for my build. Such as strapping, elastic, poppers etc and working on the prep whilst I get the cash together. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/37001-Snaps-elastic-and-all-the-other-bits! Im not trying to put you off mate, but I made the mistake of buying a cheaper kit and regretted it. And I don't want to see anyone make the same mistake as I did and feel the same. I honestly believe that what you will spend getting it to standard in the long term, you could get a more authentic kit which would take less work to get cleared. Good look, and look forward to see your WIP mate. Are you in the UK?
  23. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I understand how annoying it could be for someone to exploit someones hard work. But if that happens, then it happens. Focus on what can be influenced, delivering on great customer service, price, and fulfilling delivery commitments. Happy days!
