  1. Where do you have the switch at the moment Jim?I'm going with the push button type. Again, by the chin for ease of access.
  2. I think the key when hand painting is to thin it out and apply many coats. Takes longer but reduces the brush marks.
  3. Sorry tony. I missed your post.I want the security of using the double snap system on the torso. Single system for the limbs.
  4. So with the imminent arrival of by BBB ( which is in transit ) I've already prepped my snap plates. Got most of my webbing and awaiting various widths of more along with elastics. Split rivets, japanned screws (thanks to Jorge!) and capped rivets already sourced so very little left to do except wait.
  5. Thank you! Yeah the scope rail is 2mm.
  6. Yeah, you just need to solder the switch to one of the wires. All the switch does, is break the circuit when in the off position, thus no power. You'll be fine with this, it's easy mate
  7. A couple of quick questions. 1. Is this scope rail acceptable? It seems a bit narrow and also a little thick. 2. After trimming out the sight cover I will need to replace the part where the actual sight was. What are the dimensions for this? I'm quite happy as to how it turned out. A little filling and some more filing should do the trick!
  8. So here's the rails that came with the kit. The scope rail is around 16mm in width and 240mm in length. Any comments as to whether these are suitable would be gratefully appreciated. Marc
  9. Hahaha.....No pressure then! I will more than likely be leaning (heavily) on the more experienced to get me through this build!
  10. Don't think I would've gone with anyone else for my next build. The guy is a real gent.
  11. Will post pics as soon as it gets here! Showed my son the process of it being formed and other pics. He has my old FX armour and loves it! Wait until he sees this kit!
  12. Here was my first build around five years ago, thoughts?
  13. You can get in touch with him through the UKG mate. My kits on its way. [emoji2]
  14. RWA have a great reputation in the uk. Great customer service and quick shipping. My next build is RWA.
  15. Due any day now. This is my kit at the work shop, all ready to ship. It's been a really fast service since placing my order, customer service is amazing!
  16. So here's my new RWA kit On its way, so I thought I'd start my WIP thread. Maybe a slow burn due to work commitments and a resin blaster kit WIP on the go too. We'll see....Looking forward to BBB day! I have the tools, but was thinking about all the other bits and bobs I need to fulfil the build. There's nothing worse than wanting to get on with something and then realise you need to wait for the postman! So I tried to get as much as I could ahead of my kit landing I thought I would put this on here for two reasons. 1) being relatively new to all this I found that as I have been going along in my current rebuild. I have often run out of key things required and hopefully this list can help others prepare whist they wait for their BBB to arrive. 2) I will have more than likely missed something, which I would be most great full if you could direct me in what else I need or whether I'm ordering too much or not enough of something! Poppers/snaps Going to be going with the double snap method using webbing instead of elastic for the ab, kidney, back plate etc. So gonna need a lot! 40 poppers going double for back, side, and shoulder straps. 4 poppers for thighs. 4 for chest to abb plate. 10 for arms. 1 for top of ab. 2 for ab to belt. 2 for crotch 2 for shoulder straps Total snaps = 65 order x100 for those ones that don't want to work! X100 =£ 7.99 *acquired* White elastic 50 cm of x50mm wide for chest to back plate. X100cm =£ 1.85 *acquired* Or 40mm white webbing X100cm = £1.79 *acquired* 50cm of x25mm wide for belt to drop boxes. X100cm =£1.25 50cm x 6mm for rear of shoulder covers. X100cm =£0.99*acquired* Black elastic. 50 cm of x20mm wide for Soulder to bell. X100 cm =£0.99*acquired* 80cm of 25mm for bell straps. 50cm of 25mm for bell to bicep. 50cm of 25mm for chest to ab. 20 cm of 25mm for butt to crotch. (Total of 200 cm ) X200cm =£1.49 50cm of 30mm for forearm to bicep. X100cm =£0.99*acquired* 100cm of 50mm for thigh garters. X100cm =£1.59 Black Webbing. X20 50mm double snap plates X18 40mm single snap plates Snaps plates 25mm x 300cm. =£2.75 *acquired* Internal strapping 50mm x 80cm. 20cm for split rivet side X100cm =£2.95 *acquired * White webbing 50 cm x40mm for chest to back plate ( if going that way, instead of elastic ) X1.45 Velcro. White industrial self adhesive 20mm x 100cm for calfs. X100cm =£1.55 Aluminium strip. 50cm of 25mm x 2mm for TD clips. X100cm =£5.09 Inc p&p *acquired* X4 pan head screws ( need to find dimensions / size! ) *aquired* Rivets for belt and holster ( need to find sizes! ) Split rivets x10 ( which I already have ) Paint Humbrol admiral grey no 5 X14ml =£2.47 Inc p&p Humbrol gloss black no 21 X14ml =£2.49 Humbrol french blue no 14 X14ml =£2.49 Black sharpie marker X1 =£0.99 So far for all parts required total cost is £41.86 or around $61.15 USD. All orders are at the minimum unit value or length available closest to the required amount. Which allows for the odd mistake here and there. This is excluding the cost of rivets and pan head screws. Note to self.....order more of the following: Rare earth magnets x20 of 15mm x 2mm X20 =£2.68 Rare earth magnets x20 of 20mm x 2mm X10 =£6.59 E6000 Masking tape
  17. I'm weighing that up as we speak.Might have to put a pin in that for the time being as I'm about to pay for my new armour, which is ready to ship!
  18. I believe it is a DD kit but it's not directly from them. I bought it from someone who I believe began the prep and then gave up on the job. As for the scope rail, I'm not sure if it was initially supplied with one. Or if is correct. I'll post pics as soon as i can for your judgement.
  19. Thanks.Just thrown my WIP up in the blasters section to get up and running. More than likely begin work on it next week.
  20. Ok so this arrived this morning, so I thought I may as well start my WIP thread. It's not as rough a mold as I was expecting. My first kit was a pipe build, and at the time I thought it was a decent effort. Saying that the parts were alot rougher than this, but there's still a fair bit of filing to be done. I will post more pics soon, just wanted to get the thread up!
