  1. just study the game. take your time.. and most of all have fun!!! i did a ICN as my first build and know it can be a bit of work but it was well worth it,the ICN and TKC are identical minus the paint job and weapon
  2. ahh... variety , the spice of life
  3. as Sean stated above here is a link to the ROTJ CRL ----------- if you follow it for the armor you will be golden ANH helmet and hand plates ext.. per the commander CRL, also where the holster is optional, it is not in the game version. just remember the gray drop boxes the blaster appears to be ROTJ/ESB (no counter like ANH) and is wielded with the stock extended (not required) A light saber based off of the video game reference may be carried in stead of an E-11. also a An SE-14R are all acceptable also this texture file shows the paint/weathering details very clearly (yes its a bit wonky to look at) i am looking forward to following this build!!!
  4. another reference from The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology
  5. i was simply pointing out that it has references as being a standard piece of equipment for stormtroopers outside of the film canon. as in the RPG and various other sources and that outside of the film/prop community (EU) there is no stunt/hero armor. just stormtroopers
  6. i guess i see this in a different light... i imagine that the grappling hook and com are standard equipment used by troopers.. ...it is also listed as standard utility belt tools in the official star wars visual dictionary .. i don't think it falls into the "prop miss" category.. JMHO
  7. it is pretty clear that it is a stunt with comlink and hook IMHO i don't see why it shouldn't be acceptable as long as the details are correct. unless there is a good argument against it..
  8. yes great indeed it warrants a new award in the spirit of 2011 the Imperial Goofball award
  9. as far as your 501st application.. well, you need to submit the photos to your GML, he will then forward them to the LMO as it is a EU costume.. it will be up to the LMO who will use the game references as a guide for approval... it is also takes a bit longer to get approved sometimes when going EU
  10. oh forgot the Argentina link (though a bit pricey) http://cgi.ebay.com/White-Rubber-Trim-Armors-STAR-WARS-PROP-/250767085351?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a62e20f27
  11. it is available in norway but you might find it loacally if you search a bit it looks like this http://www.hartveitbutikk.no/filestore/KatalogHartveitButikkAS6-PDF.pdf'>http://www.hartveitbutikk.no/filestore/KatalogHartveitButikkAS6-PDF.pdf http://www.hartveitbutikk.no PDF is in Norwegian but is pretty self-explanatory. 3mm = ~1/8th inch. you can get it in the usa but overseas shipping is insane you could also ask the CFO guys as they make ROTJ armor
  12. it is white rubber trim that covers the armor edges as in the ROTJ armor, the ab plate, chest, back/butt all have white rubber trim instead of a return edge http://www.501st.com/crl/TK_CRL/140_Stormtrooper_ICN/140_09.jpg if you need help sourcing some on your side of the pond i can help
  13. if you add the door trim to the armor you should be EIB ready mate
  14. looks fantastic Steve love this shot now go toast up some ewoks
  15. keep em coming!!! almost there let the countdown begin
  16. like Sean stated above the chipping does take away from the design,, i think if you filled in most of the chipped areas it would look much better.. i think it is the contrast of the super bright white coming out through the chipped areas that makes it look too noisy.. i airbrushed in 90% of the white chipped areas just to show the difference before after airbrushing i think you could easily backfill the white areas with a small paintbrush . if you used spray paint just spray a little in a jar (this can get messy ) other than that you look ready for EIB the only thing i notice is that there appears to be no door trim on the butt or ab plate.. but it may be i cant see it in the photos?? correct me if i am wrong.
  17. yet another easy pass!!! looks fantastic trooper approved!!!!
