Is my helmet centurion ready?
dashrazor replied to kevster's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
yes, you need one or two rank bars painted per ear for centurion but it does not matter what bars you paint. refer to the screen caps if you want to -
Is my helmet centurion ready?
dashrazor replied to kevster's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
i would say fix them if you can, but they are passable no 2 helmets in ANH were the exact same, and they are most defiantly hand painted.. -
your really going to need to contact RT-Mod for a new set of ears those will not pass.. email him at trooper7@shaw.ca

i made these templates using various sources so bear in mind this is going to be my interpretation of a mg-15 and may not be 100% accurate but they work just fine full tutorial HERE barrel templates grip templates Ammo drum template finished results

i have these pauldron templates in my archives and would like to share them with the community. i did not make them myself but i converted them into JPG format for easy viewing. you will need to print them in sections or on a large format printer to get the correct size for best results use the PDF file DOWNLOAD HERE instructions Templates reference images

Question Regarding CRL Helmet
dashrazor replied to TK3373's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
ANHv2 is a particular make of helmet. it is a fan sculpt made by KW designs HERE . it has no relation to the FX helmet and is acceptable for EIB, just not Centurion -
you will need to replace the rivets for EIB, 3 screws are required in each ear for ANH stunt, one above and one below the ear bar and one at the base of the helmet. .. but it should be a simple fix great! going EI out of the box is the way to go

it took a bit of creative hacking and research.. (no phone and internet access today lol ) but i got a good amount of screenshots from my PSP version of the force unleashed showing the best possible images of the kashyyyk Commander (the game actually confirms that they are commanders) and they are members of the Triton Squad..

i am sure there is 1.5 OD PVC. somewhere ...but common sizes that one can get everywhere at a reasonable cost would benefit more people than something that is only available in a galaxy far far away..
-
i would suggest at least 3 variants of the receiver template to accommodate people in different regions, though these could be made later on.. standard 1.5" OD 38.099999999999994mm (un-altered tamplate) will only work on metal pipes (there is no PVC that i know of with this OD) and might be hard to find or even illegal for a E-11 in some places 1 1/4" Schedule 40 PVC has an outside diameter of 1.660" or 42.16399999995446mm (this is a common sized pipe anybody can get in north America at a hardware store) 40mm Metric PVC-U Pipe 40mm OD

kashyyyk stormtrooper 501st markings variant?
dashrazor replied to dashrazor's topic in Kashyyyk Stormtrooper
working on that boss i just got the PSP version of the game and will start the screen-grabs as soon as i can figure out how to do it best.. my old PSP does not have video output like the newer ones so ill need to get creative -
like a tombstone rubbing
-
wowo!!!! this is going to be phenomenal i had an idea for the receiver.. take a piece of thin paper and wrap it around the main body (vent holes cocking slot ext...) then take a rubbing with charcoal or a pencil.. then scan the rubbing with a scanner and Photoshop it into a exactly correct template.. this template would need adjustments for other pipe diameters as well.. as it would only work correctly on a 38mm OD aluminum or steel pipe

How do I measure myself for armor?

i moved this topic to the templates and blueprints section.. this is just a great thread!! im sure if folks work together we can make up the best E-11 plans in the galaxy also if you wanted to make a functional bolt the keyway design as seen on the blueprints above is a practical/simple way to achieve this.. without a machine shop that is

looks like it is a set made by T/MC, but i would look here first http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11538 . you can contact the T/MC maker directly and get the same armor bypassing the middle man.. it might be cheaper its a general rule to advise members to avoid EBAY unless the seller has a link to his sale on here or another 501st website

i remember speaking with the creator of these plans when i purchased them a few years back, The plans set uses the original Receiver Template for the Sterling SMG (but not the British made version) i think it is from the Philippine or Indian made sterling if i recall.. also note that not all British sterling's were exactly the same.. many parts were hand made so design variations were common in those days these plans are put together very nicely IMO and can be used to make a nice (even functional air-soft) E-11.. so if you want to make a replica British sterling the receiver might be off a little, but if you want to make a cool laser blaster form a galaxy far far away, these plans are fine
