  1. I am in no way hijacking the thread but I do want to thank Rob for chiming in on some of these builds!! A pleasure to see you lurking, Sir!!!
  2. Keep in mind.....when finished, it must be sent to me for approval. That process takes no less than 2 years sorry to say.
  3. Hey Steve!! Thank you for your application to EIB!!!! You have a great looking set of armor. Very well fitted to your frame. Nice work!!! Let's look at your armor a little more closely! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. After reviewing all photos, your armor meets all requirements so with that I would like to congratulate and welcome you to EIB!!!!!!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: This is where myself and your fellow troopers make suggestions that do not affect your application, but are suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. The first point is something that boarderlines on the nit picky. I like that your side rivets are the correct distance from the seam and evenly spaced across from each other. For this reason, I am not requesting a change here. I do believe they are a little close together in their spacing top to bottom. I marked off what I mean here:. Here is an example of the spacing from an archive suit: I do have a small request regarding the cut out at the bottom of your left thigh. I am not too sure why this was cut in the shape it is, but I'd like to see the corners heat massaged or trimmed to blend more with the line of the ridge at the bottom like this; In reviewing this picture, See "Centurion Suggestions" below for further comment on this thigh. The other thing that would look great but is not required is some weathering on your blaster. If that is not your thing, then perhaps just to add the silver color near the trigger group as seen here: might just add some further depth to your blaster. Oh, nice magazine by the way Centurion Suggestions: From the many specific details you have added to your armor I can only assume that I will see a Centurion application from you at some point. I sure hope so!!!! There are a few changes that will need to be made. First I want to go back to your left thigh. Whatever reason it was that you needed to trim that square notch out is adjustable by evening up those corners. A closer look however shows that your cover strip extends beyond and onto the lower ridge. The cover strip should not do this as seen here: If you do apply for Centurion. the decals on your helmet in the trap and tear areas will need to be removed and be hand painted or be replaced with the Dave M "handpainted look" decals. Next I want to go over your thermal detonator; specifically the belt clips. First off, they need to be bumped outward towards the outer caps to either touch or have minimal gap between the clips and the caps. Second, the clips should be straight across the top and sit even with, not overlapping, the control panel like this:I have marked my suggestion on yours here: If you want to really WOW the accuracy factor, you could get slot head screws rather than phillips but that it up to you. There is one more adjustment that may lead to a correction in another. Your waist belt is sitting a bit too low. The top of the belt should touch if not slightly overlap the main button plate. I have marked this in red: I noticed that you have a slight "V" gap at the top of your ab/kidney seam. There is also some overlap at the bottom of this seam. I just wonder if the belt was raised to its proper position would it eliminate this gap because the pressure would be in the right spot on your armor. The last thing is in regard to your MASTERFUL work blending in those side shims. I'd like to see a little more artistry go into that seam to eliminate the notch at the top to make it more seamless. The notches just make it seem like something was added so it doesn't look natural. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions! Great work and congratulations again!!!!
  4. Hey Lee! Thank you for your application for your Centurion badge. Let's look at your armor!! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. IT is always a pleasure to see yet another well built set of TM armor. You should be proud to wear this armor, Lee! There was, however, one correction that needed to be done. There was a bit of excessive overlap of the back plate over the kidney on the right side. Lee has made this correction and the original back shot was replaced with the updated photo, The side shot showing the overlap was left for comparison. Thank you, Lee, for taking the time and making the extra effort to improve the overall look of your armor!! It shows!! With that, I would like to congratulate you for taking your place among the other Centurion troopers!!!! You will make your Garrison proud!
  5. AP has always been a strongly supported armor here. This armor works best for the smaller framed trooper with a waist measurement of around 32 inches. If you are much bigger than that, you will have gaps on your sides or need to ad plastic shims to close that gap.
  6. Darth Aloha LIVES!!!!!!
  7. I have two words that solve this problem........side cutters. The brass screws that usually come with these kits cut like twigs with side cutters.
  8. Make it about the same as your side rivets; about 10 MM in from the seam. You can just eyeball it so it sits in the center of the corner.
  9. Hey Jonathan: Thank you so much for your application for your Centurion badge!!! In looking over your armor, it makes me sad that the NE armor program didn't work out as your armor is a stellar example of the beauty that could be made with it. *Sigh* ANYWAY...... CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All Centurion submission photos have been posted. I feel I need to mention a correction that Jonathan was kind enough to work with me on and make. A Centurion application and its submission photos should be the final presentation of all the hard work to accomplish the level of accuracy that accompanies "Centurion". If corrections were necessary and noted on the EIB application, new photos need to be taken and submitted with the proper corrections made. The main issue that was noted in Jonathan's case was the gap on the right side that I knew could be eliminated by just tightening up the belt. Jonathan suited back up and took new photos with the tightened belt and re-posted them into this application thread. This was the candle on the birthday cake!!! Nice work Jonathan!!! All other aspects of your armor meet the requirements for "Hero" Centurion. With that I would like to congratulate and welcome you to Centurion!!!!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: There was another adjustment that was made that can be noted. The belt clips on the Thermal Detonator should align with the bottom edge of the control panel. Jonathan trimmed these back so that they would. Would I rather see clips with flat sharp corners at the control panel rather than rounded off? Yes. But this is nothing that would restrict the badge. Another thing that might be updated later on is a point that Jason brought up regarding the tears under the eyes. Leaving the teeth out of the discussion, any of the other details (traps and tears) should be painted up to the "ledge" or "wall" of the indent. You can see I marked this on your helmet, Jonathan: Compare this to Luke's helmet from this screen grab: That is something for a rainy day. Thank you again for all your efforts towards making this Legion a better looking place! Your Garrison should be proud!
  10. I know you are overseas and I don't know what hardware stores you have there but I am sure one has a section they call the metal shop. What has always come through is 1 inch wide by 1/16 thick. That is very close to what was used originally.
  11. This looks awesome. I would bump up the diameter of the ab buttons just a tad. Which reminds me....how did you get the main button plate to stay on?? You left no flashing around it. Nice fit. Your last few pics almost look miniature
  12. You are ALWAYS being watched!!! Muhahahahahahahaha!
  13. Back on topic...ARF! ARF!!! Hahahahaha!! ANYHOO!!! Thank you for your application for Centurion! I want to start by having everyone stand and applaud your efforts to change yourself for the sake of the armor. Building armor is easy compared to re-building yourself. You should be commended!!!! Both yourself and your armor will reap the benefits of your accomplishment. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. With the changes you have made, your armor meets all standards for Centurion. With that, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to Centurion!!!! The Nordic Garrison should be proud!!!! Other Armor Fit/Assembly: I will now inflate your ego and address the concerns listed by fellow troopers. First off, I hate you for looking as good as you do in the armor. I will get there some day. Anyway, the details on your helmet were NAILED!! Well done overall on the paint job. It is always a challenge to install a sniper plate well...something else you nailed. Although it is not yet a requirement to have the screws on your thermal detonator painted black, for ultimate accuracy it is recommended. The rivets in the upper corners on your thigh pack on the lower right thigh need to be painted. I am sure this 30 second upgrade won;'t be an issue to take care of. I don;t think something like this makes it necessary to hold back a Centurion award......but GET THOSE RIVETS PAINTED!!!! As for the mention of your left forearm, it does appear to be a bit bigger from the side. From the front and rear it does not. If you wanted to re-size it that's up to you. If it's sliding around on you a lot I would suggest it. TM forearms when build correctly fit like a glove. If it doesn;t bother you, though, it won;t bother me. The DLT-19 wires for the t-tracks we have already discussed. 20-24 AWG black electric train wire works well for this and is not that hard to find. It is also just a nice upgrade. It was a pleasure to look over your armor and as mentioned before, the natural weathering gives your armor an authenticity factor to it. I LOVE IT!!!! Congratulations again!!!
  14. Good luck and take your time to do whatever changes you choose to do correctly! We will be here!
  15. I hate you guys that are gonna look that good in RS!!!!
  16. Hello Takashi!! Thank you for your application for EIB!! I knew you were going to address certqain issues which is why I waited on the review. So let's look at your armor. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. The only EIB issue that was apparent was your upside down ab button plate. We all make mistakes. You were timely in making the adjustment. Thank you! Your armor meets all the requirements for EIB. With that, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to EIB!!!!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: This is a section where we take the opportunity to look at your armor closely and suggest things to improve the overall look of your armor. Unless specifically stated, these suggestions will not affect any application. Since you have supplied us with your measurements, You do not fall in the category of "bigger trooper" You are slim build but a little shorter than original actors. Your shins and thighs look a little big for your frame. The shins look like they are really big at the ankles and the thighs look a bit roomy at the knees. If these parts were slimmed down, it would give your armor a more slender look which would compliment your height. It would also go along way in making your armor more comfortable. It was suggested to switch out the phillips head screws for black, slot head screws on your thermal detonator. This is just for more accuracy. I want to commend you on your helmet's paint work. OUTSTANDING! I do want to mention that the vocoder area in between the mic tips should be painted the same matte black as the mic tips..not glossy. Centurion Suggestions: You have corrected the two armor issues that would have affected a Centurion application: the upside down button plate and the back plate overlap of the kidney. Both were well done!!! I can only assume with the details you have built into your armor that you intend on shooting for Centurion. The only thing I see right now are a couple details on your blaster. I am aware that your base is an airsoft gun. Any heavy modding of this gun like cutting into the casing might ruin any function of the gun itself. With that in mind, there are two things I would like changed. First, you will need a charging handle on the right side at the front of the channel directly behind the ejection port: The Second item has to do with your top T-track. The t-track in front of the scope rail should not end in the same hole as the scope rail. It should end one vent hole in front as seen in this screen used blaster: There are people here that you can contact on the sales threads that might be able to help you out with the charging handle. If you do apply for Centurion, make sure your application pictures do not show the overlapping back plate or the upside down button plate! Congratulations again on EIB!!
  17. There are always the extreme circumstances where a trooper from the film was expected to act in a way that stretched the elastic on the side. in the case above leaning way backwards. What I am referring to is standing at attention in a relaxed position.
  18. Your armor looks outstanding!!! If you should happen to apply for any accuracy badges, make sure your drop boxes align with the vertical ends of your waist belt. The other thing us your bicep straps are really thin. They should be at lease 3/4 inch elastic. If you apply, this should be upgraded.
  19. Your attention to detail is admirable, Bulldog! Your final product will show that! I agree that it looks much better with the cover strip centered properly. I looked back and saw that you attacked the top of that right thigh and evened the top out. (it comes from RS with one side about 1 inch longer than the other) But then you glued a cover strip that is 3/4 of an inch longer than the thigh?? My suggestion is to pre-cut your cover strips to the proper length and shape prior to installation. You are going to have to trim and shape your cover strip risking a nick on the thigh itself. This is an investment worth protecting. I can't wait to see this product finished!!!!
  20. There are few restrictions when it cones to basic approval in regards to a blaster.
  21. There were wires showing early on in production. However, as the filming progressed and more and more counters fell off, the wires went with them.
  22. Keep in mind the wires (if you choose to use them) should not be overwhelming in size. Do not use stuff like coiled shaver cord or old phone handset cord. Thin wire wrapped around a pencil 4 or 5 times is all you need.
  23. Thank you, Dimo!!! Now THAT...is an EIB TKC!!! Well done, Sir!!! With that, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to EIB!
  24. Some is selling the 5v fans here. Check the sales threads. RadioShack has a 4 AA harness that is compact and cab fit in the cheek tubes.
