  1. We look forward to seeing your progress!!
  2. You could get a balaclava
  3. Nice job, new Boss.
  4. Of the 4 bumps on the stunt helmet, it should be one of the two rear ones. The story I like is that they are rank bars. Depending on which bump is marked that tells your rank just by looking at it. If it was different one both sides, telling your rank would get very confusing
  5. Um yeah.....Hyperfirm weighs nothing.
  6. It sounds/looks like a heavy blaster in a thinner holster. The area between the sleeve the blaster sits in and the rest of the holster needs reinforcing. You could use so me black ABS or perhaps just a thicker piece of leather glued to the entire length on the back.
  7. To update this, RS Props has made contact with me and seems eager to come to a solution. They were very professional in their response. They are, too, confused as to why this as happened. They said it was very surprising. I hate to conflict with the numbers here. Perhaps it was this one set of plastic? I don't know. I wish they were here so I could do this in front of them, but what happened , happened. I would like to put this horror behind me but I am considering making a video with what is left just to show that this is indeed what occurred. If it would be educational to prevent this from happening again, then a good lesson is learned here. We are about helping others here and sometimes it is about what NOT to do.
  8. It's a great feeling!! Now get out there and make people smile!
  9. In all my armor building experience, I have yet to point a heat gun at an armor part in fact I don't even own one. What you don't see here is the shin half I was trying to reshape at the same time. That was placed inside the thigh and water was poured over both. That too, was ruined. You weren't there, Dan and your forensic assessment could not be any farther from the truth.
  10. A holster is not allowed for HWT. Carrying it would be a challenge unless you want a weapon in each hand. Keep in mind, if you make your holster detachable and get another set of ammo pouches, it will save you from the headache of having to manage two separate canvas belts. Make sure your drop boxes are removable, too if you want to apply for EIB or higher
  11. Ah very cool. It will be like a new child arriving!
  12. 8mm head for the split rivets ( 7 total ) 7mm cap, rivets 2 needed. Unless you are going uuuuuber accurate, then you will need 3 more to,secure the waist belt to the canvas belt
  13. This is all really cool. Great scope history! This is a Sterling conversion thread. Where's the Sterling????
  14. Check both of the threads you have going here. Use a dremmel sanding drum and sandpaper. Take it slow. As Ian said, slow and steady
  15. The only way you can mess this up is by trimming the eye opening out completely and I know you won;t do that. Look from the inside and draw a line that evenly represents cut lines on both sides. Really concentrate an making them as close to each other as possible. Remember, the original helmet differed a little bit from each and every one.
  16. Hello Steve!!! Thank you for your Centurion Application!! Let's have a look! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos are present and accounted for. With great joy I can say that your armor displays all necessary details that Centurion requires. This badge was well earned! Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Alhough MTK is not on our vetted list here, in my opinion, it needs to be. This is a great example of why. the little changes that have been done is really beginning to set this part from other armors of the same lineage. Thank you, Steve, for making the small changes as suggested like raising your belt to the proper position and getting your shoulders into the right place. Looks dynamite! Again I want to compliment your paintwork on the helmet. I think we have thoroughly covered your Thermal Detonator. I am glad you were able to make those changes safely without damage to the piece. Germain had brought up the rounded edges at the top and it is a shame that they come that way. I don;t know where the idea came from to round them off like that but you nailed the issue. Well done! As for the length of your strap that joins the back with the chest over the shoulders, the length really doesn't make too much of a difference if the end result is accomplished. Not everyone is built the same and the fact that these molds historically lack in material at the shoulders, sometimes a longer strap is what is needed to ensure the parts fit where they are supposed to. As seen in this case. Just a reminder for troopers that need to incorporate the kidney notch into their kidney plates. The measurements as provided should be seen as a guide. As long as the notch looks proportionate, I will never ask to show a linear measurement. I would consider gluing up that left handplate. That will just get looser and risk being ripped off by catching on something. Congratulations again, Steve!!
  17. It seems you still have a bit of material to remove......
  18. There is nothing that says AP HAS to be built with overlapping joints. They can and have been built to EIB and Centurion standards for years. Go to the EIB and Centurion application threads and seek out AP and have a looksie/
  19. The screw holes you have drilled in the face can be moved. it is all going to be covered by your ears. Remove the screw from the side you don't like. Reposition the face where you want it and mark the face through the hole in the cap. Re drill and you are good
  20. We are here to assist you and any trooper in building your costume and helping when and where we can. Once approved, you can pretty much do what you want while trooping. Paint your armor pink if you want.
  21. People have been asking me if RS is going to do anything. Since this happened, none of my messages have been returned. I have sent 5 separate ones. I hate to think they are ignoring this but the guy who's armor this is has not had his messages responded to in 3 months. Not very happy with this right now
  22. Like was previously mentioned, AP will fit someone up to 34 inches around the belly button. RS if the extra material it is shipped with is left on, will fit a person with a 36 or 37 inch waist
  23. This why we tell people to shy away from armor dealers on EBAY. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to open your wallet or swipe that card. Regardless of the lineage he claims IF, and I say IF, the armor is like he has pictured, it is still the old FX armor and you would need to do major modifications to get it to go any further than basic approval. The money that would be spent upgrading everything would be better spent on a suit that assembles better, looks better, and fits better. The first link is such a lie, they actually stole a picture of one of our members. This is why ebay gets a bad name
