This is incredible. We are all monging on popcorn to see how this goes!! I guess you can sand it down but the front sight did not have the knurling pattern below the bend in the front or rear of the sight. I made that mistake, too.

These mic tips are fine. The ONLY problem and its not really a problem is the letters are blobbed on the sides. Crystal clear or blobbed, once installed they are not seen. -

Updated your Cohort. My bad...most applications are ANH so it's keystroke habit. Anyway, Their 2.0 line of armor they have available through here is the suit they have been updating. -

gazmosis replied to Tusken RTT's topic in Request Centurion Status
Great find, Germain! Well done! I'm never too old to learn a new fact. However, I wouldn't recommend everyone run out and get "hero" handplates yet. This may still be in the anomaly category next to Mr. No Stripes and the 3 tooth stunt. Anyway, thank you for showing your Stunt hand plates, Scott. Now all you need are the right gloves for those to be mounted to. But the point here was the wrist openings of the forearms were clear of return edge and that indeed is the case! I can officially congratulate and Welcome you to Centurion! -
TK-77477 Requsting ESB EIB Status(TK Armor)[449]
gazmosis replied to Veeds's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hey there, Mike or Sean? Please don't be offended as Sean shows here and Michael shows on your Legion profile. I'll call you Sean for it is what you have listed here. Anyway, Thank you for your EIB application! As I see it, you have a really nice base build. There is a lot to cover here, so let's get to it! First, I think it's important to clarify that TK Armor is the old NE armor that was offered my AM a while ago. They no longer sell these molds here, but they can be purchased through Facebook. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. Although your armor now has the elements required for EIB, Scott's keen eye noted the opening of your left shin was facing outward. This should have been addressed on your approval for it's a basic Legion requirement. You have indeed fixed this which is greatly appreciated. I would like it if you took and posted a picture wearing the shins and showing the proper opening direction. So after all that, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to Expert infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, I will summarize observations by your fellow troopers and myself. These suggestions are supplied as direction to improve the overall look of your armor. Unless specifically stated, these suggestions will not affect any application. First is the position of your waist belt. It is highly recommended that your belt is positioned directly against or slightly overlapping the bottom edge of your button plates. Moving the attachment snaps is an easy adjustment and will go a long way to improving this look. Next I want to discuss the fit of your thighs. When building thighs, many people forget that there is a conical shape to your thigh. (much wider at the top compared to around your knee) The thighs should be built accordingly. You have a great deal of extra room at the bottom of your thighs. I marked in red my approximation of where your thighs are under your armor. If it is possible to carefully separate this seam, you could have a helper squeeze the bottom together overlapping the two halves until comfortable. Mark a common line between the two halves that is centered on the back of your thigh and you have your new seam on your new custom fit thigh. Also in that pic I point out some very removable return edge you have left on your shin tops. If left on, this can really eat into the side of your legs if you are animated and move around a lot. Return edge at the shin tops is fine, but it should be minimal. !/4 inch is good there. This might also allow a similar resizing of your shins. I would also trim down the rear cover strip on the bottom of your calf closure. This is a snag waiting to happen. Tri it just above the lower edge of the shin itself. Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion requires a great deal of additional photos, not everything can be seen here. We hope all troopers some day strive for Centurion. These suggestions will help to better achieve that goal if you would like that. If applying for Centurion, Please re-take any photo that shows your Vader backpack. It's not on the accepted "accessories" list. Let's start at the top. The helmet details within the tears and trapezoids were decals as you have. The paint around the rank bars in the rounded section of the ear should mimic the decals. The outline of the rank area needs to be evened out some to better resemble the decal outlines. This can be done by dampening a brush with mineral spirits and massaging the un even edges away until you have an even outline. Next, your shoulder bridges have an excess of material outside of the ribbed area. This should only be a couple of millimeters as seen here: Your Thermal Detonator will need some updating as well. The metal belt clips should be made from 1-1 1/8 inch X 1/16 aluminum strip. As long as they are close to 1 inch, they are fine. I suppose 3/4 inch as you have it is close, but they should be made from the material I mentioned earlier. Available at any Lowes. While you are there, you can pick up some new screws to attach them. The screws should be low profile, pan head screws about 1/4 inch in diameter. The hex nut head screws on your "TD" are a ittle big.. When done, your "TD" should resemble this: The gap between your drop boxes and belt is a little excessive and could be eliminated all together. While we areon the subject of your belt, the outer corners need to be trimmed at a sharp 45 degree angle not just rounded off. The vertical edge between the angled corners should be approximately the same size as the width of your cloth belt. Some hardware needs to be attached though not necessarily made to be functional. The Male snap on the upper, right corner of your ab. The six rivets on your left side seam between the ab and kidney. And a split rivet installed on the cod area of the ab.You can also see the double, inward facing male snaps installed on the butt plate. Are the ones on your armor snaps?? The gap between the top of your shoulder bells and the ribbed shoulder bridges should be minimal at best. It's an important feature to make sure that if you are using the handplates with the elastic band that they are worn with the rubber chemical gloves. The seam cover strips on your arms look very wide to me. These are supposed to be thinner than the ones used on the legs measuring right around 5/8 inch or 15 MM. Lastly, there should be no return edge on the wrist opening end of the forearms. This includes the square indent ridge. This list may seem overwhelming, but just take it slow and one step at a time. The reference pics are here. Ask question and you will get there if that is what you want. Congrats on your EIB again!! -
TK24241 requesting ANH Stunt Centurion status AP[156]
gazmosis replied to Tusken RTT's topic in Request Centurion Status
Alright Scott! I hear you may have made some upgrades and changes! Let's look at them...but first...... CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: Your armor is on point so far as I have seen. However, a detail specific to the Centurion process are the wrist openings of the forearms and that they have no return edge. I cannot go forward until this detail is confirmed. All other required photos have been posted, however. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Indeed you have made a few upgrades!! Your painted helmet details look great, you trimmed up the cover strips on your thigh backs, you reduced the gap between your kidney and back plates, and upgraded your blaster. I'll bet you feel more complete with the proper weapon! Nice work! A mention was made regarding your belt being a tad low in the front. As stated, it looks best when positioned up against or slightly overlapping the lower edge of the button plates. You mentioned that you made this upgrade and we'd LOVE to see it! NOTE* The "Hero" style hand plates are not high on my "preferred" list. Unless my resources are incorrect, only one "Hero" handplate was ever noted and Han wore it on his left hand only. His right hand had a stunt one and Luke wore stunt ones on both hands. I debated about passing this, but the overall shape and material fulfill the request of the CRL which makes no mention of the different styles. This is a point I will discuss to have changed with Darth Aloha. Let's keep the "Hero" handplate limited to "Deathstar Han" builds, please! Not take and submit that wrist opening picture so I can confirm they are correct and the badge is yours!! -
Don't take the free time for granted. Research your little heart out! Pleanty of RS build threads to reference. Knowledge is confidence!!

TK-77525 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status [TM][155]
gazmosis replied to Milo's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey, Hideki: Thank you for your Application to Centurion!! This is a perfect example of the impact a few, careful upgrades can do. I really hope newcomers looking at this and your EIB thread will be inspired by your efforts to make the improvements you did. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been posted. Your armor displays all necessary elements to qualify for Centurion. Congratulations on reaching your goal!!!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Again....this was a great example of recovery. Small changes like correct side rivet paint, tube stripes, adjusted thermal detonator appearance, and the correct rivet placement on the thigh pack, went a long way to bringing your armor over the top. Even the new shot of your forearm not over rotated made a difference. Although it is not a CRL point, the final adjustment can be made to your waist belt. As Gemain pointed out, it is sitting a bit low. If you relocate your snaps on your ab, this will be hidden by your belt. No repairs will even be needed. Congratulations again!! -
TK-34624 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [SDS][448]
gazmosis replied to Butters's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Welcome, Mr. Paul and thank you for applying for Expert Infantry! Let's have a at your armor!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submissions photos have been posted. Your armor exhibits all necessary details required to obtain the EIB badge. I would like to both congratulate and welcome you to EIB!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, I will be recapping observations made by your fellow troopers as well as adding my own. These suggestions are for adjustments that can improve the overall look and function of your armor and do not affect your application. First, I want to mention the nice general improvements made to make this armor a little more accurate like the crotch hardware, side rivets, rubber gloves and handplates, and right side snap. I don;t know if SDS added them, but they look great nonetheless. Tim had a couple good points. As you can see here, The cover strips stopped at the bottom molded ridge and never went beyond. As for your waist belt, It could stand to have a little removed from the top and bottom edge. It doesn't need to be as close as the top, screen used one in this shot:but it could be brought down a little. I would recommending updating the left side ab button plate to have buttons molded into the armor and not separate. It just looks more balanced with the other one next to it. I don;t see them, but I think there are no snaps holding your waist belt to the ab plate. Some snaps here would greatly improve your ability to keep the belt from wandering out of place. Are the lower snaps on the inside of your ab for holding up the thighs? If so, I would switch to a garter system. A belt around your waist that the thigh straps attach to guarantee no "wardrobe malfunctions" with your thighs. Lastly are the sharp corners on the crotch side of the butt plate. You can round those off so you can have less ouches in this area. ANY ouches in that area are not good! I would pull off that random piece of duct tape. I have never seen a specific trooper with tape in this area. I am all for a little weathering, but in my opinion, the tape is not high on the improvements list. I do need to address the concern regarding the overlap construction. Yes it is used by SDS. But it is not an EIB requirement that the armor is built in another manner. Centurion, perhaps. Segwaying into that, it has been understood that Paul chooses to remain at the EIB level. This will be honored so no "Centurion Suggestions" that normally appear next will be listed. Congratulations again Paul! Go make your Garrison proud!!! -
Start looking in the build threads for others who have constructed your brand of armor. Look at the EIB and Centurion threads for troopers who earned those badges with your armor so you can see the ins and outs of how they did theirs. Take pics like Joe said because we have seen it all and LOVE pictures!!

Morning From the UK 501st Trooper Helmet for sale
gazmosis replied to Shotgunjimmy's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Part of the support we provide here at FISD is a certain honesty. That style of helmet was molded after an early brand of armor that was around the Legion many years ago. Although many troopers use similar helmets, they were considered grand fathered in at the time the updated 501st regulation was passed. This type of helmet, sadly, is no longer accepted for 501 st approval. It's beautiful work don't get me wrong, but the molds are just too far off from what the 501st considers accurate style. -
Thank you so much, Tyler for sharing your RS armor with us!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. Thank you for sharing your library with us!! Your armor displays all the necessary elements required for Expert Infantry. With pleasure, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to EIB!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section I will summarize observations made by both myself and you fellow troopers. Any suggestions made go towards improving the overall look of your armor and unless specifically stated, will not affect any applications. Your thermal detonator belt clip screws were mentioned. The originals were black, slot head screws as seen here:RS builds usually come with the correct screws they are just not black. If you want to, you can dab them with a marker or black paint for greater accuracy, but it's not necessary. At 5' 6", the armor parts are expected to come closer than most sets on taller guys. Nothing about this will affect any application. I am just concerned in the long run regarding your thigh tops, your movement and repair issues with the armor snagging on each other. Though very flexible, RS is not indestructible. If you have parts snagging on each other, cracks can occur. If this becomes an issue, you might want to think about taking an inch off the tops. However, to trim this well then form return edges on the top is an art form. Only try this if you are comfortable with the process or know someone who is. Centurion Suggestions: I would like to know if its possible to take some new full body shots featuring more of YOU and less of the background. We want to see the gorgeous details here. This teaches newer troopers how it should look! As for adjustments, Please remove the paint from your crotch hardware. Unless something shows in your Centurion application, I don;t see anything. Well done, and congratulations again!!

TK-51878 Requesting ANH Hero Centurion Status [RT][154]
gazmosis replied to Dark PWF's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey there, Tim!!! Welcome to FISD staff and thank you for your application to Centurion!!! (I agree, Steve..it's about time) ANYHOO!!!!!! Let's get to it. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: Thank you for these great shots of your armor!! All required photos have been submitted. Your Armor represents all elements to qualify for Centurion. Congratulations!!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: One thing here that needs to be mentioned is the location of the inner connecting bracket screws between the torso sections. I am not a fan of them being as exposed as they are here. They are supposed to be attached to the return edges in between the sections. however, this brand of armor has no return edges to use for this purpose so there really was no other choice. Most of them are hidden under the belt. I do want to bring up your brilliant helmet paint detail upgrade. Dynamite work on that. Tim is wearing the biceps correctly in his full armor shots. At the lower section of the pictures, he shows them staged by themselves. The "thumbprint" bicep should be worn on the left side. In armor that has one bicep with and one without the "print", they need to be worn on the correct sides. Great work again!!!! Congratulations!! -
Just an update. The armor has once again served its purpose. Ally is growing leaps and bounds in both spirit and body. Her confidence has helped her accel in school, and overcome many of the challenges she faced a year ago. Much of this has been directly the result of her being able to be part of this wonderful gift the FISD gave her the chance to experience. She is finished with it and ready to move on. The armor in its entirety, will be back in my possession soon. It will be stored in my home until it is needed to help another little trooper.

Just some history for you......the mouth screen is a 501st thing. It was not used in any of the films and was created solely for our troopers to be better hidden from the public in close proximity. The most popular stuff nowadays is dog proof fiber coated screening available at any hardware store. It has a larger profile than standard window screen

cut rear shoulder bridege tabs?
gazmosis replied to bigtrev503's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
You are correct that the ANH and ESB suits had the tab only at the front. You can cut it off but make sure it doesn't make it too short. Since it floats, wait to do this til the end to see how they look. If it's gonna make them too short, leave them. This detail is never scrutinized -

The story that is told here is an obvious one. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required Centurion photos have been posted. Your armor demonstrates all required elements for Centurion. With great pleasure I can say, congratulations. Thank you for giving us the pleasure of looking at this outstanding build!!! Troop on with pride, young man!!
