Wahoo!!! Thank you so much! Very proud of this. I appreciate the great details for getting to the next level. I've got a taste of OCD, so I can truly appreciate the granular look at these areas. I spent a good year on updating the kit for this entry, so I'll take a little breather and then start working on these updates to try for level 3. My absolute thanks to the team for the fantastic review. A special thanks to Karen Anderson Designs for the pics. They didn't know these details so I couldn't guide them too well with the kit on. Next photos for level 3, I'll have a fellow trooper help me and we can reference the notes here too. I've been in the 501st for over 20 years, so it's an true honor to take it up a notice. My best to all the TKs out there. I hope my pics help you all on your way for an ESB certification too!

I was going to try and do the original strapping method on the pieces that would require the return edges - at least on the backside. I wasn't sure which other pieces would also have those edges or need to have the return edges on them. Haui and Evan, thank you for these tips. It appears I will have to create return edges on a few of these pieces and I'd probably better experiment some first before I attempt this.

Hi guys, Been reading around and looking at threads to try and get info on return edges for screen accurate looking armor. I ended up confusing myself in the gallery and what I was seeing in some other build threads. Finally came to terms with making a specific post to ask. Perhaps you can guide me to a thread I missed with this information or post info or pics on what I needed to figure out. I'm working on a T/MC armor set as an ESB trooper. I eventually want to go centurion if I can. My questions: Which pieces of the armor should have a return edge on them? I realize I may have to adapt and make my own on some pieces like the butt piece on this particular armor set. If I do this, how far out in mm is the return edge itself in most cases? Which return edge parts apply to an EIB or centurion application? Just want to get that right. My apologies if i missed a topical thread specific to this subject. I just couldn't find it and needed a little push for help. Thanks so much for the help!

After a lot of life distractions, I'm finally going to continue and get this guy built. A lot has been learned on this forum since I started this, so I've picked up a lot of new tips. Hope to post some updates maybe after this weekend sometime. Sorry for those that checked in and I didn't have anything on there for the longest time. Good to see the thread still exists. Back at it shortly.

Here is my final version of the ESB helmet. I plan to add fans, speakers, and maybe change the lighting gel lens at some point, but this is pretty set for me to move on. The lens here is the Welders Lens, but the flash on the camera makes it look dark. It is in fact green. I added the chin strap to try and match the auction helmet. It has the similar Anorak snaps on it. Stats Helmet:T/MC Decals: TK4510 Neck Trim:TK4510 (properly trimmed) Mic Tips: Keith's Onto the body. I hope to try and do the authentic strapping system. Working on getting the pieces now. How's the helmet look? Opinions welcome.

Thanks Dmian!!!

I was wondering for those that have done the lighting gel for the lens, do you have any recommendations on the color number from one of the lighting brands that is closest to what would have been used on screen? I see that there can be a few shades of green on some gel companies and I wasn't sure which color # or color type is best to use. Thanks for any thoughts on that from the experts.

ROTJ Chin Strap Snap/Popper Brand
evnltr replied to JoeR's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Yes great info. Thanks for measuring those Paul. I was trying to look at the snaps on the SWhelmet.com page with the ESB helmet. Look like similar silver anorak snaps, but of a different brand. My eyes stink, but zooming in on them looks the name is only on half of the bottom side of the snap. Kind of looks like it starts with CO...maybe...but I don't know. LOL -
ROTJ Chin Strap Snap/Popper Brand

That would be great Joe, thank you! I've seen some of those snaps in the 15mm or 5/8" setting. I just wasn't sure if that was close in size or not. -

Joe, Great thread! Thanks for the notes here on the snaps. (Mark too, I didn't know the exact type of snap. I'd love to know the brand too. Is the brand different? ) I'm starting my chin straps soon on my ESB version so this one will be be helpful at least as a good reference. Joe, do you know what size these were in mm or inches?
