Nickel City Comic Con, 13 October 2024 So this troop began with my right shoulder bridge snapping in half (thanks given for garrison mates with white duct tape!) and the snap connecting my left shoulder bell strap to my shoulder elastic coming apart (a fix was MacGyvered). But after that - fun was had by all. I don't have copies of these pictures yet, but the Garrison presented welcome bags to guest celebrities and Star Wars actors Deep Roy, Jeryl Prescott, and Jon Abrahams. Still not the droid I'm looking for: An actor named William Shatner from another franchise was supposed to be there, but all I saw was his chair:

68. 2024-10-12, AvestaCon 2024, Avesta (Hero) My 68th troop was at the place I did my first ever troop, almost two years ago. This event two years ago was the 15th of October, and in this time I've completed 68 troops! I didn't know that I would troop this much when I first started out, but I've made so many beautiful friends and memories and seen so much stuff thanks to this crazy hobby! We enterrogated this guy!

Hüseyin applied for membership during the worrisome days during the COVID outbreak of 2020. Without contacting any of the command staff prior, he did his own research for a Jawa costume and did a remarkable job in creating one. Perfectly matching his stature, he became the Turkish Outpost's first and only Jawa. Coincidentally, he was a resident of Antalya, one of the hottest cities in Turkey. This was proof enough that he was a great fit to be a Jawa. Hüseyin was a very active member of the 501st. He was eager to represent his club and his love of Star Wars at events in different cities. He did not miss even a single online meeting. He put a lot of work into his costume and he was always trying to make it better. And when it came to reenact a Jawa...he was not just reenacting, he WAS a Jawa. Fellow Turkish Outpost troopers witnessed how he brought joy to the hearts and smiles on the faces of hundreds. But of course, beyond that, he was a kind, thoughtful human being. Always full of ideas, he brought new perspectives to situations that needed solutions. Condolences to his family, friends and garrison "Buckets Off" Greetings Troopers, As we enter the tail end of the year it is once again time for the Legion Census. If you've not already completed your census for the years please head over to our post on how to complete yours. When filling in the census also make sure you have setup your detachment affiliations if you have not already and want to be able to vote in the Detachment elections in February. Once set for the first time it will say your status is pending, this will be updated later in the term when a Legion process runs to synchronise our forum with the database. For this to update you to active you will need to have logged in at least once this term and need your TKID set correctly on your forum profile. We do this as part of setting your Detachment Access, which you can do here if you need to. I have taken time this month to maintain the Legion Roster. This is a manual process managed by the DL to ensure that those who leave the detachment are properly updated on both sides. Being one of the largest detachments this can be a large amount of work and has taken quite a while to get back into a good state. Going forwards this will now be a much easier keep up to date. On a more exciting front, merch. We've got two runs currently in production and one has already begun shipping. More exciting still is there is a new run starting so make sure you catch up on James' DMBO update. It is the responsibility of all 501st approved members to fill out the census each year which you can find here (to enter use your legion forum login and password) You must be registered on the main forums to participate in the census:here Here's what the charter says about activity definitions: Operations Protocol/Membership An Active Member is defined as a member in good standing who meets the following requirements: Meets all 501st Membership Requirements (i.e. ownership of an approved costume, is over 18 years of age, etc). Has an approved membership record in the 501st Legion Membership Database Maintains active contact with their CO or GML. Active contact and participation will be confirmed during the annual Legion Census held each year during the month of October. Maintains contact information/membership record in the 501st Legion database either through their CO or GML. Participates in at least one Garrison or Legion activity per year while wearing an approved 501st costume owned by said member as recorded in the Legion Census. One year is defined as the period from Legion Census to Legion Census. Examples of an activity include, but are not limited to conventions, charity events, or any activity designated as an official event by a coordinating administrative unit of the Legion. Members who serve in military branches are exempt from activity level requirements if their service renders them unable to meet these requirements. Why does this happen, and what is detachment affiliation anyway, and what will FISD do about it? The answer is that detachment affiliation is only ever used once a year, and for one purpose. The only time the Legion ever uses it for anything is to determine who can run for DL and who can vote in detachment elections. That's it. Otherwise it is pretty much ignored and not used for anything. The process of validating detachment membership is cumbersome and time consuming because people use different email information between their Legion and detachment logins, and that there is no way to bulk update the rosters. For a small detachment it is not a big deal to do this manually, but for a detachment the size of FISD with hundreds and soon thousands of 501st members, it's impossible. Fortunately we have technical folk both on FISD and in the Legion web team. Once a year they take a feed from FISD's database and do a bulk update on the Legion database. This occurs right before the election cycle starts and is done once per year. Pro tips: 1) Ensure the email address you use on the Legion & FISD boards are the exact same. 2) Ensure that your FISD profile has the correct TKID. 3) IMPORTANT! You MUST be in the right security group. It should be "501st Stormtrooper" in order for the automated system to pull you over. This thread is where you get your detachment access updated. 4) If after the bulk update is complete and your profile is still not updated, and you are 100% sure your info is in sync between the two boards, then ask for to the Legion web team. They should get feedback on why this isn't working. 5) If all else fails, ping the FISD staff. Which basically means that we'll simply tell the 501st web team to bulk approve everyone 6) If still you have no luck you can contact the legion web team directly via email: lwm@501st.com To check detachment affiliation go to the 501st holocron here, login using your 501st forum username and password, click on YOUR PROFILE DATA, then look down the lower part of the page for YOUR UNIT AFFILIATION, then under DETACHMENT AFFILIATION. If you do not see FISD listed reach out to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they can add it if you are an approved Stormtrooper. With Unquestioned Loyalty Jonatan Östling TK-23592 "Nairy" Attaché Ambassador Master Armorer Program - 2024 Relaunch FISD has many wonderful programs to help members build and submit costumes for our detachment, whether it be a classic Stormtrooper, a First Order Stormtrooper, or even one of the new Imperial Armored Commandos. While our Expect Infantry and Centurion programs get most of the attention, FISD staff wants to relaunch the Armorer Program (Currently called the Master Armorer Program). What is the Armorer Program you ask? Well, it is a program designed to recognize those troopers that go above and beyond to assist themselves and others in getting costumes built, submitted, and approved. One of the goals of all the detachments in the 501st Legion is to help members build and submit costumes that meet and hopefully exceed the minimum requirements of the Legion’s CRLs. Currently the Master Armorer program has the requirement of helping a minimum of 5 members achieve Expert Infantry status. The member must have spent at least 30min physically helping another member with cutting, gluing, sizing, etc, just because they want to help (no money exchanged). The definition of an armorer is “a maker, supplier, or repairer of weapons or armor”. So while we certainly love the feedback that members provide to others on the forums, and the extra steps some do by having video calls to help walk people through issues with their builds, this program requires hands on work. The new program will have the same physical help requirement, but we are going to move from a “wins” system, (where a win was help an individual for 30 min or more) to a points system, and we aren’t limiting it to only Expert Infantry builds. While we are pushing the Advance to 1500 to try and achieve 1500 Expert Infantry members, we recognize that the goal of the detachment is to get FISD members build, submitted, and approved. So we will be awarding points for Basic builds as well. Currently there are 3 levels of the award, FISD Armorer, FISD Senior Armorer and FISD Master Armorer. The new program will add a 4th level at the beginning called the Apprentice Armorer. The point scale will be as follows. 5 points - Apprentice Armorer 10 points - Armorer 20 points - Senior Armorer 30 points - Master Armorer The Armorer candidate would earn points based on what level the member costume they assisted with achieved. If you help with a basic build, you get 1 point, if you help with a EIB build you get 2 points. So a person to basic you get a point, help them again to get their EIB earning another 2 to a total of 3. The thought again here is that we want to help build as many stormtroopers as possible. If you love building armorer and love helping fellow members get their costumes built, then this is the program you’ve been searching for. These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. You could also just re-bend the clips (if the material allows) or even make new clips and use the existing holes, this will also save removing the control plate. The height and length of the clips dictates where the control panel will sit on the wearer.

Hi Torben, What comes to my mind as a solution for your TD to actually get the Basic (L2 and L3 accuracy) would be a 3 steps fix. CRL Basic Level : The white control panel raised ribbed pad faces the rear, with the controls/round washer style detail closest to the right end cap. 1- Remove the Buttons plate 2- Trim the Clips (Drill new holes on metal) and rotate the pvc pipe downwards so you don't need to drill new holes on it. 3- Place the Buttons panel on the correct position Some references on how the TD would look when wearing it.

Troop #24 After nearly 2 months without a troop, I was finally able to get back in armor! This event was Boo at the Zoo at the Knoxville, Tennessee zoo! We had 3 TKs, a Tusken, and Chewbacca also made an appearance. As I assume is done at many other zoos, the children and their families would visit different booths throughout the zoo to get candy, and then would roam around and get photos with members of different costume groups!
